He only played in a few.

He played in 5 games last year and while that's not a lot he struggled in every game with at least one turnover.  The guy on X is building Jeff Sims up like he isn't a bad qb while in fact he was horrible last year.  I appreciate what he tried to do but he is best suited for a team that strictly is going to run the ball as its base bc he can't make the account throws while being in the pocket and even then as a running qb he doesn't do a great job of holding on to the ball so good luck to whatever team takes him.  Maybe best option is to not to be a qb at all.

You do understand the best QB on the planet (Mahomes) says himself that he has things to to work on still.   It’s not a shocker that an 18 yr old would have something “to work on”

I know that every player has something to work on I was saying that his things that he needs to work on are probably small stuff compared to what HH and DK have to work on in order to have a marginal lead.  HC Matt Rhule made it sound like he had big stuff to work on just a couple of days before the scrimmage.  He(MR) made it sound like there wasn't a clear cut leader before the scrimmage bc all the qb's had stuff they needed to work on and still do.

You must be new to football coaches. Bo Pelini basically said Lavonte David sucks a$$ (paraphrasing a little).

I understand that the coaches aren't going to sing the praises of a player I get that part.  My thing was he flat out told us (fans/local media) that he needed (Raiola) to work on things.  I understand that he is so far advance as a 18 year old qb doing certain things that others HH and DK aren't at that stage yet but since he has things he needed to work on himself I didn't think he clearly separated himself from the pack.

He may never see the field as is

He certainly is talented just probably needed to get bigger which he has done.  Usually the home grown Nebraska kids eventually see the field.  I wouldn't put it pass him that he eventually settles in here at the linebacker position.

They might go with one of the other 3 guys in the qb room.

If they only have 4 qb's on the roster and three are scholarships and one is a walk on hopefully it doesn't come to that.  I only asked bc recent Nebraska starting qb's have gotten hurt throughout the years and we have had to go to back ups.

I don't think any QBs in the portal will be interested in coming here. Sure it's only 3 scholarship QBs, but we're clearly planning on Raiola winning the job so there's not a path to playing time. The portal QB ship sailed for this year when we didn't push for McCord.

Good point.  I just think that if 2 qb's do get hurt then I don't know who would they pull from another position to have as a backup.

  7. Wow that fast??!!!  Just from watching his jr season highlights he looks like a smaller version of Jordan Westerkamp.  If he has a great sr season could he be bumped up to a four star commitment or bc of lack of size hurt him in recruiting rankings?

Well that sounds like we are out of the running for him which stinks bc I really wanted him as a top talent to join but we all seen crazier things happen in the recruiting process.  Still got a long ways to go.

Heard this morning that Frankie will be announcing on Monday on 1620 with Gary. Sounds like he has a list of 4, but it really is down to CU and Nebraska.

If he does decide to go to Creighton you couldn't be mad at him bc of their success.

He had what they called a "minor" knee surgery around Christmas & was out for a couple of games.  It definitely affected his ability to practice full time - it was mentioned by Hoiberg several times in press conferences.  If it was as minor as they say, a few weeks off should let it fully heal - or he could need to have another "clean up" done and then a few weeks off to let it fully heal.  I'm sure we'll hear his status fairly soon.

Thank you!!!!! I think Mast and Williams and Gary are all vital to having another successful season next year.

Sounds like the condition of his knee is also a contributing factor in his decision

Was he playing in pain all season bc of his knee??? I didn't even know he had a knee problem.
