  4. We should be playing Kent State's non conference schedule than our own. Ours noncon is what you think of when you think of G5. While Kent State is a school that uses it program to play bye games to help supprot the university each year and makes it impact as a "basketball and baseball" school. I belive we should be playing more P4 games each year... They have played games at Penn State, Ohio State, Tennessee, Cal, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, and more over the year. 2025 KENT STATE NON-CONFERENCE OPPONENTS 08/30 - Merrimack 09/06 - at Texas Tech 09/20 - at Florida State 10/04 - at Oklahoma Huskers upcoming nonconf 2025 Wk 1 @ Cincinnati (In KC - Huskers AD said that 50k tickets were sold in the opening week) Wk 2 - vs Akron (This is a reschedule game from 2018 - Scott Frost first home game canceled by storms) Wk 3 - Houston Christian 2026 Wk 1 - Ohio Wk 2 - BGSU (replaces Tennessee home game) wk 3 - FCS North Dakota 2027 Wk 1 - NIU Wk 2 - Miami OH (replaces Tennessee away game) Wk 3 - FCS - Northern Iowa 2028 Wk 1 UTEP Wk 2 SDSU Wk 3 Arizona - This is the Huskers next P4 non conference game

  7. Has anyone heard when the spring game date is?
  8. ESPN Preview: Nebraska Season storyline: Here's the good news: Nebraska is playing in a bowl game. That's something the Cornhuskers hadn't been able to say since 2016. This year, they ended the longest bowl drought in the country, so that's an unquestionable success story. But, it's not exactly where Nebraska fans wanted their team to be, either. After a 5-1 start to the season, the Huskers dropped five of their next six and finished at .500. Their woeful record in one-possession games continued, too, with losses to Illinois, Ohio State, UCLA, USC and Iowa all coming by eight or fewer points. And although heralded freshman QB Dylan Raiola had some nice moments, his final stat line -- 12 touchdowns, 10 INTs, 6.8 yards per pass -- wasn't exactly going to get him into the All-Big Ten conversation. So yes, Nebraska is happy to be here. But it will be a lot happier next year if it's fighting for a playoff berth. Player to watch: Ty Robinson is the leader of a veteran defensive front that has been one of the nation's best at stopping the run. Nebraska ended the regular season allowing just 106 yards per game on the ground, No. 12 nationally, along with just six rushing touchdowns. Robinson had 22 tackles at or behind the line of scrimmage, leading the way, along with John Bullock and Jimari Butler, who each chipped in with a run stuff rate better than 5%. -- Hale Boston College Season storyline: This was always going to be a season of change for Boston College, with Bill O'Brien taking over as head coach and a new approach to a system for the Eagles. A big part of that shift was reeling in QB Thomas Castellanos, who was a prolific runner in 2023 but was asked to play more from the pocket in 2024. That formula didn't quite work out, and Castellanos was ultimately benched -- a decision that resulted in him leaving the team. After Grayson James took over, however, the offense came to life and BC won its final two games, against North Carolina and Pitt. James had four touchdowns and no picks in those games. Player to watch: Kye Robichaux and Treshaun Ward have been a dynamic duo in BC's backfield this season, combining for 1,131 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. They're a thunder-and-lightning combination, with Robichaux serving as the power back who dominates at the goal line, while Ward is explosive and a weapon in the passing game. ESPN BET early line: Nebraska -4

  16. Bowl matchups will finalize Sunday, a day after conference championships play out across the sport. With Big Ten finalists Oregon and Penn State both almost certainly bound for the College Football Playoff along with Ohio State and Indiana, the rest of the league pecking order appears to be in place eight teams deep to the Huskers. The Citrus, Reliaquest and Music City Bowls all have B1G picks ahead of the Pinstripe. Illinois (9-3) appears a lock for the Citrus while Michigan (7-5) is likely heading to Tampa after its upset last weekend of Ohio State. Iowa (8-4) would be the logical choice for Nashville based on record. Next is the Pinstripe, which would then have Nebraska (6-6), Minnesota (7-5) and Rutgers (7-5) as eligible options. The Scarlet Knights were in the New York City bowl last year and the Gophers the season before that.
  17. The lead official for the Pinstripe Bowl knows all about Nebraska football. Especially as it relates to the Huskers in New York City. Executive director Mark Holtzman is aware, for example, that NU coach Matt Rhule is a native of the Big Apple. He can remind that Big Red’s last game in NYC came in the 1962 Gotham Bowl — the metropolis didn’t host another college bowl until the Pinstripe debuted in 2010. Will the Huskers be heading east for a December contest in Yankee Stadium? Too soon to start spreading the news. Don’t fuhgeddaboudit either. “Nothing is assured until after the games on Saturday,” Holtzman told The World-Herald this week. “But there’s a very good chance Nebraska will be available for us to pick.” Bowl matchups will finalize Sunday, a day after conference championships play out across the sport. The Scarlet Knights were in the New York City bowl last year and the Gophers the season before that. “From my perspective it’s about bringing in the right brand,” Holtzman said. “I don’t think 6-6 or 7-5 makes that much of a difference. You want to try to mix it up. With Nebraska, it’s well-known how well they travel and that it could be very special.” Selection decisions are made collaboratively between bowls and conferences. An ACC team — many outlets have projected Boston College — will oppose a Big Ten school in the Pinstripe. The Big Ten is 8-1 in the postseason game in its last nine editions. Players and coaches in the bowl get a “real flavor” of the city, Holtzman said. They visit Radio City, the 911 Memorial and Statue of Liberty. Some ring the bell at the New York Stock Exchange. The team hotel is near the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Colors of the competing schools light up the Empire State Building the night before the game. Last year the bowl took the teams to a ping-pong social club in Midtown. Nebraska, Holtzman said, would satisfy two main objectives of attracting people to the venue and drawing a strong television rating. ABC will broadcast the game at 11 a.m. (central) on Saturday, Dec. 28. It’s a myth, Holtzman said, that everything is expensive in New York City during the holidays. Multiple airport options make flights more flexible and reasonable. His pro tip for any Pinstripe guests: Many hotels in New Jersey are closer to Yankee Stadium than those in New York — and more affordable too. “Nebraska hasn’t been to a bowl for a number of years and the ability for their fan base to travel is legendary,” Holtzman said. “I’d like to believe with New York and Christmas and everything that Nebraska fans would come out in droves to the most famous outdoor stadium in the world.” https://huskerextra.com/news/football/it-could-be-very-special-why-signs-point-to-strong-match-between-nebraska-pinstripe-bowl/article_da2d51f0-b361-11ef-b1ba-9b17a6e5a1ad.html
  18. Bozeman is such a beautiful place... with that said, I don't thing there is enough hotels to hold the amount of fans who would go there in general.
  19. Big Ten Bowl Ties, Affiliations https://collegefootballnews.com/predictions/college-football-bowl-ties-affiliations-for-each-conference-2024-2025 Consider it a mortal lock that the Big Ten champion is in the College Football Playoff, and almost certainly with one of the top four spots with a bye. The Big Ten alternates with the SEC between the Las Vegas Bowl and Duke's Mayo Bowl. Last season Northwestern beat Utah in the Las Vegas, so assume the Big Ten will be in the Duke's Mayo. One other twist: the former Pac-12 teams - Oregon, UCLA, USC, Washington - will remain eligible for the former Pac-12 bowl ties and affiliations. That means if any of those four aren't in the College Football Playoff, they'll be eligible for the Alamo, Independence, Holiday, LA, Las Vegas, and Sun bowls, before any Big 10 Bowls. - Cheez-It Citrus Bowl vs SEC - ReliaQuest Bowl vs SEC - Duke's Mayo Bowl vs ACC - Music City Bowl vs SEC - Pinstripe Bowl vs ACC - Guaranteed Rate Bowl vs Big 12 - GameAbove Sports Bowl vs MAC 5-7 records to fill the remaining spots, selected based on APR (Academic Progress Rate). Northwestern, 4-7 Cincinnati, 5-6 Wisconsin, 5-6 Air Force, 4-7 Wake Forest, 4-7 Auburn, 5-6 Virginia, 5-6 NC State, 5-6 Utah, 4-7 (tie)
