  1. Hope you're right so I choose to believe. Looks like we dodged that bullet...
  2. Why not just take the winner of the Kansas/Iowa State game tomorrow and call it a "home run hire"? And if we can't get one of those, let's stick with Mickey. Because, comfort zone and cultural fit and stuff.
  3. Very well thought out and informative post. Thank you. You also can't discount that, whether we like it or not, winning offsets some of those character/moral blemishes. There's kind of a one-to-one relationship here with regard to level of success vs. severity of said blemishes. Again, it all just comes down to where you draw the line on that kind of stuff. Or in this case, where the NU administration draws the line.
  4. Hard to argue with this. Of the top 3 (Saban, Urban, Dabo), all 3 have some pretty well documented character/moral blemishes. Although, also pretty hard to argue that Urban's blemishes aren't worse than the other 2. He comes in a pretty solid third on that list. It all just comes down to where you draw the line on that kind of stuff.
  5. I was with until the O’Brien and Bielema parts. Hard pass on those two from me dawg.
  6. Pretty good summary by Sports Illustrated, just as an example… https://thespun.com/.amp/more/top-stories/look-deion-sanders-getting-mentioned-for-nebraska-job
  7. Song: “Little Queen of Spades”- Robert Johnson
  8. So, just because you’re not liking what you’re reading and don’t want to admit that he’s got a lot of very impressive traits as a candidate means the rest of us are in WTF territory? Ummm, okay.
  9. That’s kind of the point. If his name wasn’t Deion, he also wouldn’t be recruiting A level talent to a D level school. But he is. Because he’s Deion.
  10. I saw a video recently after JSU had just won something pretty big (by their standards) and he spent about half the time telling his players how great they all were and the other half telling them not do do any stupid s#!t that night. Asked the room, “What do I always say?” And they all replied something like, “never let a moment of satisfaction lead to a lifetime of regret.” Pretty solid.
  11. Seriously? I hope you’re kidding. I mean, besides head coaching experience and being an A+++ recruiter…ummmm gold jacket mean anything to you?
  12. Admittedly, I don’t know much about most of his staff. But I have read that he has assembled an amazing staff at JSU considering the school. Quick glance through the staff directory and it does not appear to be JSU/HBCU buddies at all. Anyhoo…there’s not an assistant coach in the country who doesn’t answer the phone when Deion Sanders calls.
  13. You’re joking on the bold part right? Sorry, I love me some MJ, but he can’t hold Deions jockstrap when it comes to being qualified to be the next head coach at NU.
  14. Rhule stepped into a really s#!tty situation with (almost literally) bare cupboards following the whole Art Briles mess and got them back on track in 3 years. Aranda stepped into the rebuild that Rhule had already started. Just for context.
  15. Could not agree with you more. But for me, Deion is in his own class. Been there done that…Meyer. Someone who’s made waves in Pop Warner ball…Campbell, Aranda, Leipold, Stoops, etc. Game changer…Sanders. Deion can sell condoms to a nun. If Nebraska hires him, you’ll get on board.
  16. He’s already been a legitimate candidate at three P5 schools. He’s let it be known that he wants to keep doing everything you mentioned at the highest level.
  17. Let’s all just think about that for a few minutes.
  18. So, just to be clear, you consider…. 1) Out-recruiting literally everyone in the country (considering where he’s at) 2) Proven track record of winning at a place that hasn’t won in forever 3) Has more football knowledge in his little finger than most people have ever know 4) Preaches accountability, faith, morals, hard work, fundamentals, teaching young men, etc. above all else 5) Knows how to work the hell out of the transfer portal 6) Knows how to work the hell out of the NIL (again, especially considering where he’s at) 7) Hires an amazing staff above his class much like his recruiting/NIL/transfer portal/etc. 8) Has a national reach that would instantly put Nebraska at the top of every news cycle, something we haven’t seen since the 90’s 9) Can literally get in every living room, board room, and any room in between that’s needed to make Nebraska better 10) Instantly washes Nebraska of the negative stigma that’s part of what has us where we’re at …to be more flash than substance?
  19. So, you’ve changed your opinion from “Deion is all flash and no substance” to “Deion isn’t similar to any of the other B1G coaches”? I guess that’s progress?
  20. From just a W-L standpoint, you’re probably right. But literally everything else about him made him very hard to continue to support. I mean, if you’re considered an intolerable arrogant prick at Texas, that’s really saying something.
  21. Don’t think Texas is bailing on Sark in year 2 barring off the field issues.
  22. Horribly simple-minded and uneducated posts. You can say he doesn’t have enough coaching experience, but to say he’s all flash and no substance should make you feel embarrassed.
