  1. All of this...and it's completely normal for any fanbases who give a crap about their football programs. I've watched several coaching searches pretty closely for several teams over the last few years and all the fans are the same way and go through all the same things we're going through.
  2. I just can't see Lane making the move to Auburn. Seems lateral at best. Unless he's just fed up with Ole Miss and doesn't feel he's getting the administrative support he needs there to be successful. But by all accounts, Auburn wouldn't be the place to go to improve that.
  3. Yeah, common sense would tell you at this point, it's not Mickey. He's had a long enough interview for Trev to make that determination. In fact, IF (big if) there's any truth to the reports that his agent is shopping him around, he may have already been told.
  4. Sometimes fewer. They have to generate clicks and appeal the the masses and sell ads and try to balance all of it with trying to maintain some semblance of credibility. We can just have our own singular stupid ideas and stand by them with no agenda or consequences.
  5. Then why click on this thread? Why not just skip it and wait?
  6. Hahaha... Joseph’s representation: "Hey, how about Mickey Joseph?" Entity tied to ASU’s coaching search: "Who?" Joseph’s representation: "You know, Nebraska's interim." Entity tied to ASU’s coaching search: "Never heard of him." Joseph’s representation: "Well, he's pretty good." Entity tied to ASU’s coaching search: "Really, then why doesn't Nebraska want him?" Joseph’s representation: "Well, I mean...some of the fans on the internet do want him." Entity tied to ASU’s coaching search: "We'll pass, thanks." Joseph’s representation: "But, he..." Entity tied to ASU’s coaching search: "CLICK" Joseph’s representation: "Hello? Hello?"
  7. First of all, my post was in response to a post about Mickey in the Mickey thread. I didn't bring Mickey into this conversation, he was already in it. Second, my post specifically mentioned 4 other candidates and alluded to 3 others, and you honed in on Deion. Third, by my definition, and just about everyone else's in the country outside of here, Deion is considerably more experienced than Mickey. There's a reason he's in the top 3-5 names mentioned for every P5 opening and Mickey is not even part of the conversation.
  8. What's bizarre about it? I said "an experienced CEO coach who's actually proved to be successful at running a program" which Deion is. It was in the context of as compared to Mickey, which Deion is. You then said Deion is ruled out from that statement because he doesn't have enough experience. I'm just trying to clarify if we're still talking about the context of in comparison to Mickey? Or you just think neither is experienced enough based on your subjective definition of "experienced"?
  9. So, just so we're clear, you think Mickey has more experience at running a successful program as a head coach than Deion?
  10. I don't know about boosters, but there appear to be far more posters who have gone overboard with the pro-Mickey derp. While there are zero sure thing hires ever, there are several who are far closer to being a "slam dunk" than Mickey. Urban, Petersen, Deion, Kiffin, Fickell, to name a few. This is the worst argument ever. You're going to pass on someone who might end up being so great that he has other options and may entertain other options when that day comes? Makes no sense. No he doesn't. So does every single candidate out there. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. He's good at recruiting. Great at recruiting are guys that have put together top classes a few years in a row for an entire team. He hasn't done that yet. He's been a really good regional position coach recruiter. He's saying all the right things. He's not doing all the right things. He's turned diarrhea into a chunky turd. This means nothing. Why not hire an experienced CEO coach who's actually proved to be successful at running a program, and go use our B1G money to get the best OC and DC out there that aligns with the vision he has? I'm actually higher on keeping Mickey than this post would indicate. I agree that once we get past the top candidates, then we might as well give Mickey a shot. But I don't know why you're just ready to skip over getting those 8 or so guys (I think we identified about 8 names that would be much better in some earlier posts) and settle for him?
  11. And I’m afraid if that happens, we’re right back here in 3-5 years having this conversation all over again.
  12. We wish we were as relevant as the Dallas Cowboys. I don't think half the country loves us or hates us, I think most of the country doesn't even think about us.
  13. Yeah I hear you. Like him but he’s not moving any needles. He’s a hope and a prayer type. So we’re down to Urban or Deion? Works for me
  14. Yeah honestly he might be the least likely and worst fit of the bunch.
  15. I think Bob Stoops is done. Urban and Petersen, if they want to coach again, why not NU? Deion, yeah he takes P5 level resources all day. He’s on record saying that. His kid can come with him and start immediately and have a better heisman shot. Rhule is probably landing somewhere. Sorry, but until I see otherwise, I think we have a shot to make a splash hire. And we need one badly. A lot of people around here don’t think we need one, but they’re delusional. Agree on the rest. Lateral move or worse for most of them. I wouldn’t sleep on Chadwell either though.
  16. Heres another honest question. Will Mickey Joseph’s name even enter the conversation to be the head football coach at a single other blue blood, P5, or even FBS program?
  17. I’ve seen as much indication that they do want to coach again as I’ve seen that they don’t.
  18. I like it. I think you should be on the hiring committee. Hell I might even join you. Wait…we talkin drywall or brick?
  19. But, like…Brinks trucks and stuff. I thought we could back them up and make them say no and all that? No? Are we that bad that we really can’t get get a top name? I think we can. And I’m not gonna believe otherwise until it’s final. You don’t think at least one of them takes a huge pay raise? I do. I think there’s a a handful of names who can save this thing and I think one of them takes the offer.
  20. Is this a bit? Trolling? My sarcasm meter is broken? You can’t possibly be serious.
