  1. So what I’m hearing from you guys… We already had the talent on defense, but between Busch and White we’ve seen them get closer to their potential. Offensively, we don’t have the pieces on the field yet but Satt has done a good job with what he has inherited. (One thing I do really like is he recognizes what he has and trying to scheme around that instead of forcing these players into a scheme they can’t execute.) I still think the offense has moved the ball well enough to win games if not for unforced errors. So the million dollar question is still there; how do they fix the turnovers? Is that talent? Is that coaching? Is that a mental hurdle that can’t be overcome??
  2. I agree he isn’t trying to hammer square pegs into round holes like the previous staff, so that’s an improvement.
  3. I was thinking the same thing… I see what you did there…
  4. He’s definitely the most important recruit of the 24 class. We need a bell cow, we have been seriously lacking. If we hold on to him he will be a star here.
  5. So you think it’s more of a wait until we get a couple of Rhules recruiting classes in before we see an improvement?
  6. I get what you are saying about talent. In the offenses defense though, they are moving the ball and putting some drives together. They are constantly in the redzone. Is that a talent thing or is that coaching? Devils advocate..
  7. My question isn’t necessarily an indictment on Satterfield. His play calling is ok, some head scratching plays, but all OCs do. Whats hurting us is ball security and mental errors. Just want to know if people think these players are beyond being coached up or if Satt is missing something. The injuries have hurt for sure, but we had the problems I listed before all those guys went down. To your point… I have seen way more non contact injuries in all levels of football this season. Almost all of them are on artificial turf. Although correlation doesn’t necessarily mean causation…
  8. What Tony White has done with the defense is remarkable. What I have found interesting; he’s done it with mostly the same guys the previous staff had. So is the offense woes more of a coaching thing or is it the players we have? To some extent I feel like improving an offense is more difficult than a defense, but the mental errors and turnovers are as bad as ever. So my question is do we need to wait until these current players are gone to see an improvement or is Satterfield missing something fundamental to get this offense moving?
  9. I know myself was never critical of Rhule. I was frustrated that we have a top 100 recruit that is not getting targeted through no fault of his own. It lies 100% at the feet of the current QBs. If he’s out there getting snaps (before Washington got hurt) it absolutely means the coaches like what they have seen and want him out there. Do the rumorville people really think Rhule and Satterfield are the type of coaches that are going to reward laziness or immaturity with playing time? I also don’t buy into that he’s not getting targeted because we play slow and not a lot of passing plays are being ran. While that’s true, it’s a symptom of subpar QBs and the coaches don’t trust them to make those plays. Again it falls at the feet of the QBs and their subpar play. He has been open and our QBs suck. Deal with it, embrace it. We better get a qb that is a qb and fast or this rebuild is not going to break ground.
  10. I agree with you. We are having a decent season, which in comparison to the last half decade or so, is GREAT. My one glass is half empty comment is if our offense wasn’t such a turd, that should have been a 42-7 blowout. The silver lining is IF they can dial in just a few things on offense they could be pretty proficient. First time in a long time I can say blackshirts with out any undertones of irony. I’m really excited to see how the rest of the season pans out. GBR!!
  11. I learned that Coleman is in fact open and blocks well.
  12. It felt like we were losing even though we were winning. The upside is this team was able to hold on for the win. Last few teams would have found a way to lose that one.
  13. Yeah I think if Coleman actually gets targeted he can make some plays. Like I said before, I really doubt that he is not getting open, we just have subpar qbs that haven’t tried or can’t feed him the ball.
  14. #15 doing a nice job of high pointing a pass around the 33 sec mark. Now go do that in a game young man.
  15. I don’t know all the behind the scenes stuff, but rumors are what they are. I guess at this point I really don’t care if a kid is dotting all his I’s and crossing his t’s, just get the raw talent out there and get him reps. I really doubt the assertion that he hasn’t been open in the games he’s played. Just throw it up to him and let him Randy Moss somebody like Michigan did to Gifford (how embarrassing was that)
  16. I stopped paying any attention to this game after the first quarter but did they just give up on the qb run? Did we even attempt to run the option? What were they trying to do offensively? Honest questions as I lost interest…
  17. Thank you. We need to build from the inside out. Then qb1 is the most important position to upgrade. I’m actually ok with how the d line is looking. we have some true freshman being immediate impact players which is encouraging.
  18. 100% agree with you. statistically the ball has to bounce our way eventually though. Can’t rain all the time…maybe??
  19. We really have nothing to lose, at home. Gonna be a muggy hot afternoon, maybe it gets to those Michigan boys. Crazier things have happened.
  20. Here’s 5 reasons why they could https://www.cornnation.com/platform/amp/2023/9/29/23895312/five-reasons-nebraska-will-win-michigan-b1g-ten-football-huskers-wolverines
  21. It’s not like I’m inviting people over for a beer to rewatch the play that put him in the hospital. I do enjoy seeing him eat a big fat humble sammich though.
  22. In other news Shilo Sanders is pissing blood after the Oregon game. This is after he was talking smack to them and said they were small and they were going to run through them. Karma is delicious
