  1. I think it’s best to be patient. There were some concerning signs during the summer, but we are still a long ways from signing day. Plenty of time for this class to shape up nicely or see our better prospects decommit and go somewhere else.
  2. Academics and / or location must be really important to him.
  3. Judging by that list, it looks like if he goes away from home it will be because of academics.
  4. I think the low total is the most concerning evidence agains the staff. But do we really WANT the 11 recruits Baylor has either? It could be the staff is lazy and ineffective, and it could be that they want high quality recruits and those recruits want to see a game here before they really consider verballing to us? I don't know, but i think we need to let this class play out further before coming to a conclusion about it. In some ways it looks bleak, but we don't have the entire picture yet either.
  5. you got to remember, ultimatly you are still NE. And when a kid commits to NE, USC, FL, ND and so on. He is much more likely to get a higher ranking than comminting to MU, KU, TT, TCU and so on. If you look at alot of MU's recruites, there are a number that are .1 from a 4 star. On the other end of that, I have heard this discussed a number of time WAY before they commited else where. But from the people that have seen then play many times, they were surprised that Gabbert and Terry got a 4th star. I have seen ALOT of HS football in the state of MO. Let me just say this, How many of you, really believe, that the 5th and 7th ranked players in the state are 4 stars? Do you really believe that MO is producing 7, 4 star and higher players this year? Most years they have 3 or 4, if that. This year thats doubled. Truth is its because of "who" they origianally commited too, not how good they are. Are they fine football players, yeah they are. If they commited to KU or Iowa st would they have gotten a 4th star. I wouldnt have bet on it. Depends on what it means to be a ****, but do I think MO could produce 7 or more great prospects? Aboslutely. Missouri is the second most populous state in the Big XII with nearly 6 million. I believe that is roughly a fourth the population in Texas. So if Texas can turn out kids in the hundreds, Missouri should be able to turn out a good number of good football players too. Imo, Missouri is probably under recruited.
  6. My guess is this is the most likely explanation: Hometown: Indianapolis (IN) Southport
  7. I've gotten the same impression.
  8. Mack was rumored to be a silent commit a few weeks ago. It might be this same rumor still circulating.
  9. It’s August. We’re still a month away from the start of the season. How can it be too late? We might have some, or even a lot, of work to do, but I don’t understand how this class is doomed.
  10. > Tyler Evans N? Heard this rumor elsewhere. Can anyone confirm?
  11. I tend to agree we should'nt be too upset at the staff over Terry. At least not without knowing more. Keyston's parent both went to KU and he lives within two hours of Lawrence. Imo, it was surpsiring that we got him in the first place. But what his decommit does is put more attention on an already small class size. It leaves us with 4 commits - near the bottom in the conference at less than half what KU and MU have. That is inexcuseable imo. We have at least as good facilities if not better, excellent fan support and great tradition. If these schools can recruit players so can we. Good news is that it's early August and there is plenty of time for the staff to correct the issue.
  12. Explain Gabbert is on campus “I've seen everything in terms of the facilities,” Gabbert said. “I've met with the coaches numerous times, so for me it's more a time to talk to the other committed players and the recruits who still need to be convinced.” Link That’s good to hear. I sure don’t want it to be true, but it’s what I hear this morning along with the stuff about Terry. So when I saw that comment from SC about Terry decommitting I thought I would pass along the rest of the rumor.
  13. Explain Basically that the staff is at least lazy and at worst things are in complete choas when it comes to recruiting. Don’t know if a few bad apples or an overall attitude. Just internet rumor so take it for what it is worth. But there has been a lot of comments from recruits about having a hard time getting in touch with our coaches.
  14. heard rumors that there are some problems with our staff when it comes to recruiting. Terry's decommitt is a reaction to this and Gabbert may be next.
  15. Like the attitude he has. Could've easily gotten offended at not getting an offer but instead is using the disappointment as motivation.
  16. Any explanation as to why his nickname is "Ego"
  17. Are you tring to get the Huskers an NCAA violation you are not to contact possible recruits. Even if he is a recruit, I don’t see how contacting a guy via myspace can result in any penalty to the AD. The point of that site is to be able to find, talk and make friends with people from all over. Can’t blame a fan for contacting a recruit, when the recruit is putting himself out there.
  18. it's...IMPOSSIBLE i really don't think that word means what i think it does. Inconceivable.
  19. I want to see it happen on the field first. Holy crap, never has one team received so much praise and respect for having done absolutely nothing on the field to earn it. I agree. They are getting better, no doubt. But part of that has to do with how bad they were. Are they ready to consistently win games with the UTs, OUs, TTUs, MUs, KUs and NUs? I'd like to see it on the field first.
  20. That's why you go off historical records. When a school schedules a team like La Tech, they are looking for an easy win. Sure, things could line up for any program by the time the game is actually played 5 or 6 years later. But odds are that isn’t going to happen to a team like La Tech. On the other hand, you can’t guarantee that a program like Ohio State will be good in 5-6 years. They might have some tough breaks or a coaching change. But unless something major like that changes, odds are they are going to be a solid top 10 team. Looking at a program like Indiana, what have they ever done in football to make one believe they will be a good program when this game is played. Washington on the other hand isn’t very good right now, but they have a history of putting up some good teams. Udub will turn it around some day. Weather or not that day will come by the time we play them, who knows. But it wouldn’t surprise me. You’re right you can never predict exactly how an ooc schedule will shake out. But the difference in mindset between scheduling an Indiana vs. a Tennessee is night and day imo.
  21. Not that 6'4" is small, but seems a little short compared to our recent line committs.
