  1. On one hand, Minnesota basically fell apart. On the other hand, I don't care, just win baby
  2. Nebraska as a team is on pace to hit about 60 home runs this year, in a 44-game season. I don't think they live and die by it, either. Still disturbed by strike outs, but showed some good patience today while Iowa pitchers were struggling with control.
  3. Boom. Haven't beaten Iowa in a regular season series often enough. TAKE IT!
  4. Nebraska seems to want to find ways to defecate their pants against Iowa so take a win however you can get it. Even windier tomorrow, oh boy.
  5. Pitching put itself in some binds here and there, and then buckled down and crushed Iowa's hopes and dreams. I like it.
  6. You can run any offense you want if you shut the opponent out twice in a row
  7. Max will need to hit 3 or 4 home runs tomorrow just to be safe.
  8. Ok they did call it, that shocked even the radio crew, nobody knew the rule was in effect. Bravo, Big 10.
  9. B1G should implement a 10-run rule like pretty much every other conference. Of course NU needs another run but IF they get that, no need to continue this (I know it's not getaway day but still, in a compressed year, just do it.)
  10. Some of the seniors need to move on. They have no idea how to win and I have no reason to believe they'll flip the switch suddenly. The system isn't that bad, the system had receivers running open but Martinez and McCaffrey for his two plays couldn't hit them. QB play was an abject failure today from the first throw for -9 yards.
  11. http://skepdic.com/subjectivevalidation.html A pretty apt comparison, just replace "Van Praagh" and "Browne" with Sir Yacht and "psychic" with "inside source" and just ignore the spirit part I guess.
  12. Yeah, I say why not both? "We thought if anything it would help us ‘cus that's what we've been hearing on the news." The lady's own words. Toilet paper hoarding was never recommended by the administration, yet: “It might seem weird that people would hoard toilet paper because toilet paper is not going to prevent you from getting infected. I think what’s happening is this is going viral with images of people panic-buying toilet paper." Yes the media can make things worse. Human psychology is weird like that...
  13. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4783265/ Just to be contrarian, I'm seeing this floated around. Injecting blood "disinfected" by UV light has been used in the past. Reading the conclusion of that link there are obviously risks involved but more research is called for. Of course if this is what Trump meant he should have said so. But the media will also not point this alternative treatment out and will run with the Lysol angle so idiots will try it and injure themselves Darwinism and all that (also note the people who ingested fish tank cleaner aren't Trump supporters).
  14. They're transparent about it. Why do you think H1N1 deaths in the US were presented as a range between 8,868-18,306? This is not a new concept. CNN blows.
  15. CU ran for 380 yards, Chris Brown scored 6 TDs. Craig Bohl is the Husker football antichrist.
  16. So medical professionals tell Fred Hoiberg he is OK to do his job so he trusts them, like most people probably would. In so doing he is now labeled as grossly irresponsible with some people pondering whether he and/or Bill Moos should keep their jobs. ok.
  17. Povich looks solid so far. Gomes also really buckled down yesterday after a bad debut. Hope that's a sign of things to come!
  18. Former catchers as pitching coaches used to be the norm, and somehow everybody managed to not have ERAs in the 20s, so I don't think it matters that much. I think pitching this year was going to be a work in progress no matter who was coaching, losing both of the Waldrons, Eddins, Fisher, and to a lesser extent some of the other seniors and Chad Luensmann (who gave up 4 runs in his only appearance so far this year at UCF :/ ), there isn't a ton to work with. Throw in a bunch of errors and you get last night xP
  19. Hard to judge. A nearly ¾-hour, 11-run 1st inning changed the script on the mound. You don't have to get cute at that point nor use your top relievers. Free passes would have made the comeback easier for Baylor so you play it safe not getting too fancy trying to paint corners etc. There was some slick defense behind the pitchers, too, though. But it's only one (very good) game. I'll save my complaints for year 3 if necessary Edit: SL beat me to it :p
  20. I think USC is in a weird place with the coaching change rumors and subsequent retaining of Helton, with a lot of backlash that followed. But that's not to take away too much from Iowa.
  21. I now have diabetes but who cares? More Kool-Aid!
  22. Which is just about how it would have been with Miles anyway. Maybe marginally better this season, but we all saw what the ceiling was after 7 years (1 NIT win ). But no moral victories, this year is going to blow chunks record-wise. Oh well, scorched earth rebuilds are our thing as a university now.
