  1. Great. But as far as I know, the ESPN GameDay commercial thing was facebook only, and we got over 200,000 votes on that. I realize football is more popular, but not even 2,000 people like the page you vote on for this, if we got 10% of the voters from the Gameday vote, we'd dominate.
  2. 5th place. We're the best fans only when it comes to crappy ESPN commercial voting, I see (and not even good enough at that.)
  3. B-. Fundamentally they were pretty good in a lot of areas, namely at the plate and in the field (exception: shortstop, 18 errors is too dang many, plus however many Kelly/Farmer had in their stints). Logan Ehlers (12-1, 1.17 ERA at Howard College this year) would have been nice to have around. Tyler Niederklein's hip problems holding him back (if I'm to believe Greg Sharpe) along with Tom Lemke's shoulder, huge blow to the pitching staff. Pitchers were the clear weakness, but there's not much you can do about things like blood clots, so they get a pass this year, too many experienced guys with legitimate health issues and too many inexperienced guys being forced to step up. But a lot of credit goes to Kyle Kubat and Ryan Hander for stabilizing the weekends at the end of the regular season, finally. At least we know there will be one or two guys who should be reliable starters next year. Didn't have that at the start of this season.
  4. http://www.facebook.com/collegehomerunderby Voting is open, Headley's in second place right now. I think we can run away with this one.
  5. I think it's more unaccustomed to winning then youth though, teams win with young players all the time. Kubat showed his inexperience, though. If he pitches like he did the previous 4 weeks or so, this game might have been much different. I like what Erstad's done with most facets of the program.
  6. I think so, yes. BTN2Go is the service your cable company provides for free, but BTN.com StudentU broadcasts, which are generally unpleasant to watch, are subscription only. That makes sense
  7. As long as he can channel that competitive nature and have it rub off on the team in a positive way. So far, it seems to be slowly taking effect.
  8. Who's surprised? Nebraska's lost to even worse teams than Michigan this season. At this point I'm not gonna worry about it. The coaches get 1-2 years to straighten out the pitching issues. If they'd had more to work with this year, it could have been 5-7 more wins, probably (including this game.)
  9. no, minnesota and illinois is on btn For what it's worth, this game will be on BTN on tape delay tomorrow at 1 p.m. Central time.
  10. Will Bolt definitely runs a solid offense and once the pitching catches up, we might have something. Kubat looks like the first piece needed to get back to the NCAA tournament.
  11. While your statement is true, this was a pretty woeful performance and underscores the fact that this team has difficulty sustaining any semblance of momentum. It's been that way for a few years now. I think the easiest way to fix it will be some roster turnover.
  12. You can not take any individual game by this team at face value. They played poorly tonight, but that will have 0 bearing on the weekend (good or bad.)
  13. http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=101&SPID=33&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=205426257 Vote for Blake
  14. According to this article, he hits 91-93
  15. The biggest failure has been in the pitching staff, Silva has not fixed the free-base fetish the pitchers have had for a few years in a row now. And yet, he has proven himself every other place he's coached so maybe more than 1 season should be granted before declaring any hire a failure
  16. http://tamu.247sports.com/Board/20/Gameday-voting-opened-back-up-and-we-are-number-1-so-far-9360056/1 They are cheating. Again.
  17. It's pitching depth. Nebraska doesn't have it this year. There's no reliable ace to keep a team off the scoreboard deep into the game yet. I could buy that, except that it's not just Friday night (Ace Night). It's almost every game. That's just it, there's no leader on the pitching staff yet to set any kind of tone for a weekend.

  19. I heard somewhere that they noticed a drop in velocity from Lemke, if I recall correctly. Not sure if his arm will make it back to normal this season Hopefully soon.
