  1. Road games. Jump on their pitching, get an early lead, play solid defense and play from ahead. Would be nice to get 5 or 6 good innings from the Husker starter. They have done a good job. Mid relief and late inning bullpen is hit or miss. I think this will be a good road test. But I also think the Huskers have been tested plenty of times against good teams already. So I am leaning on the Huskers in this one.
  2. I totally agree. I think trading up is the best way to go, as high as possible as you say, so that you might have your choice between 2 guys. And then you go from there (building around him). It's not impossible to make the playoffs with a rookie QB (Dak, CJ, Purdy, etc). At least be in contention the last few weeks of the year. But the main thing is when you see the light turn on and realize your future is set at QB, your entire team and franchise and fan base gets excited. And since they are rookie QBs, you have extra money to build a team around them (off/def). And I agree, I wouldn't waste a pick on a 2nd tier QB to fill in. I'd go get the best players (edge rusher, OT) and look to the future draft for a #1 QB.
  3. Should be an uptick during Spring this year, compared to last season. More familiarity. There really is only so much you can learn though. Fall Camp is where the rubber the meets the road. But, I will pay attention to the offensive line. Who's healthy. Who's improved. Who's ready to make that next step. And the depth. I'm also hoping to hear some positives out of the WR room. And will enjoy hearing about Dylan and the Nebraska kid too (DK). Defense will always have the upper hand, so I wont pay much attention to that side of the ball. And with RB's, I don't think they will be breaking tackles anytime soon during the Spring or Summer, so it is just a workout and staying healthy kind of thing.
  4. I just watched the press conf from 7 days ago, by HC Rhule. He did a great job. He answered the questions about Trev, his reaction, the University, his thoughts on being in Lincoln, the sports outside of football, his expectations and his excpectations for an AD having urgengy and a go-getter/hard worker (the presser was before announcing Troy Dannen). He did a great job and as expected, Rhule saved the day. He is so personable and intelligent and passionate about Nebraska. It's not fair they wanted answers and put it all on him though. I am glad the University of Nebraska got a new AD quickly. Will be good to hear his thoughts soon. So far it seems like an AD that wants to be here and Troy is an Iowa/Midwestern/Nebraska kind of guy. So that's good too.
  5. Nice. I hope yall get your guy at QB in the 1st round. Next year's draft might not have as many QB studs. And I don't think the Broncos will be bad enough to select the cream of the crop. That's why I would be all-in this year. Maybe next year Sanders will be a Bronco, if they want to wait and try to tank for a top 8 pick?

    NFL 2024

The hip-drop technique applies heavy weight with brutal force to bring someone down. Just think about holding on a rope above your head, and someone grabs you by the waist and uses all his weight and power to jerk you down by the hip. Of course you will drop with him and go down. And hopefully avoid injury, but it's not promised. As you can see in that one video alone of all the times it happens, it's a technique and a shady way to bring someone down. I have never liked that hip-drop tackle. Just like I never liked safeties or DBs launching their helmet at a receiver to knock him down. Just teach and learn how to tackle. Gang tackle used to be a thing. If a RB or QB or TE or WR breaks your attempt to tackle without the hip-drop, it's because they are pretty good in open field. The hip-drop is used to scare them to death by pulling them down with all their weight and extreme force. It's ridiculous.

Sherman and RG3 are crying lmbo... So defensive about it too. Well if they learned the dangerous hip-drop technique, which can cause serious injury, maybe they can learn how to tackle without it?
  8. I think Chicago PD is brilliant. I've watched every episode over and over and over. Any suggestions for an intelligence unit that searches for perps that you could recommend?
  9. This is a good year. And they haven't even peaked yet. I think there are some legit concerns that need to be addressed and changed, but if they can do that (identify and make changes), this will become a very special team. Please don't wait too long to address patterns and red flags that will get you into trouble down the road. If you are managing this team you know what they are. So get after it now, but do it nice and easy. So far I am liking what we are seeing for the most part.
  10. Regarding the talented QBs coming in, and who to pick and whatnot, this is how I've seen these guys and what I think. If JJ McCarthy or Bo Nix or Michael Penix walk onto the field during OTA's....You are good to go. Period. Shut it down. Nothing further is needed, you did good. Penix is the most purest passer. Has great accuracy, the touch on the long ball, and can get rid of it quick under pressure. Very smart. Has played for a few college programs. And he's mature and older (23/24). Nix is smart. He doesn't need to scramble much because he goes with the OC's play called (read 1 / read 2 - coverages) and gets rid of the ball immediately. He's accurate, but he does have quick feet. He 6'2 220 like Pennix, but Nix is thicker and stronger. And he is also older like Penix and has played 61 college games. You gotta love that. Seen it, been there, done it. JJ Mac is a winner, just like Trevor Lawrence was. He is kind of slender like Penix (also 6'2 and around 219). But he is alusive when needed, and more agile than Nix and Penix. He can throw from the pocket. He can throw on the run. He is very emotional and his team thrives off of it. He doesn't have the pure arm strength as Penix, or the short accuracy of Nix. But there is something special about him in games where stats don't matter. Daniels may be a super fast when running the ball, but that attribute is only good a few times a game. He loves to stay in the pocket like Penix, although he runs more than Penix or Nix or JJ. He has a strong arm and throws a good deep pass - even if sometimes it falls short and needs receivers to slow down to catch it. He is slender at 6-3 or 6-4. He can escape pressure with quick feet, but doesn't always throw well outside of the pocket like Nix and JJ Mac. Maye is a a guy that needs to sit for a year. Learn. Get better. And he needs a lot of talent and weapons around him. If you put him out there Day 1, it won't be a good year.
  11. I agree. Although I don't think 1 out of those 3 will be available by #12. If 2 are gone then it means someone (team) is panicking in the draft, with too many voices in their ears. I believe most teams picking in the top 15 know exactly who they are selecting by now. In the mean time, the fun mock picks by analysts and Joe FanGuy will tantalize us with their expertise with mock 7.5.... trying to mix things up.
  12. I don't think or know if the Broncos have the pieces to trade up. If JJ Mac is there, you get him. I like him a lot. If Nix is there, you get him. I do like him though. If you skip either for a cornerback, then shame on you Broncos. That is the least impactful position in the NFL with a 1st round pick. Compared with QB, Rush Edge, WR, Left Tackle..... I've also heard that JJ Mac was Sean Payton's guy since the National Title game, and pre offseason and combine/pro day stuff. Best of luck. Get your QB and if you can trade up, I would.
  13. Set aside your personal hate and disappointment, and drop the pitchforks. It's been years since teh QB project didn't quite work out. The kid moved on. It's most likely due to having a brother with so much talent and NFL success, but teams and scouts point out the athletic ability, quickness and speed of Luke. Not just drafted, but 3rd round? Hmmm... This mock projection is from 1 day ago. We will see. And good for Luke if he can be an NFL player for a few years. Not sure he would become something above average, but here we go... 49ers select WR Luke McCaffrey in Round 3 https://www.nfl.com/news/four-round-2024-nfl-mock-draft-49ers-select-wr-luke-mccaffrey-in-round-3
  14. I understand and get it, about the matchup with Tex A&M and a pregame story line. But that is perfectly fine with me, because let this sink in....... Our Husker BBall team made the 64 team March Madness tourney. Our Huskers are the 8th seed in their bracket. And when you add the story line, and being an 8th seed, you get a 7pm ET Prime Time TV game on a Friday Night in March Madness!!!! Not 11AM or 130pm game. We are playing Friday Night - AND WE SHOULD BE. As fans what more could you ask for or imagine a better situation?? Huskers - put the blinders on about the buildup, but also enjoy the moment, and go play your game - and you will be fine. As fans, we got your back !!!! Let's have some fun !!! Go Big Red !!!
  15. Without a doubt, this is the worst excuse and the dumbest reasoning I have ever heard in my lifetime. Coming from a head football coach in College Sports history. What a Prime Idiot. He speaks like a used car salesman on a car lot, and I don't believe a word he says. But he wants you to believe him, and his ego thinks you will listen to him and believe him. Well, Deion Sanders is a real fool.
  16. PATHETIC BREAKING NEWS 15 days ago I was reading up on Phila and saw that Joel Embiid was cleared by the physicians 100,% for full athletic movement. And he still not playing. His representatives says that Embiid will be ready right before playoffs. How much of a puss can you be ?? Paid professional quite handsomely. Team and coaches would love you on the court to help win games. Doctor clears you from a minor procedure. Is Embiid so concerned about his current stat lines since January that he won't go 20 minutes in a game ?? Won't play until the final week?? I mean, the doctor cleared you 2 weeks ago What a puss
  17. Yeah but it's 2024. San Antonio has played below average for years. They tanked last year for the Wemby sweepstakes. By NBA magic they got him. They have a worse record with Wemby than last year. Somehow Wemby will earn the Rookie of Year award despite it all..... And San Antonio will get another top 3 lotto pick this Summer. I'm sorry to say but I'm not sending Popovich flowers. He needs 2 of the best draft picks on a 5 man team to win. Back in the day I thought and said he was the greatest NBA coach ever. Turns out that he is like Belichik without Brady (best players). When San Antonio becomes great again, it won't be because of Pop It will happen because they sucked and tanked and got the best players in the draft out of it. And then add pieces. I'm seeing the light
  18. I love our Ladies Softball team, every year. I like our Ladies Bowling team too. And I have never watched the Ladies Vollebyball team play, not even once. I just love the Softball program and Bowling team more. You can't change me.
  19. This team might be... or become... the best we put on the diamond since we went to the Fayetteville Regional vs Arkansas in 2021. Maybe? Possibly? We shall see.... But I like what I see.
  20. Yeah true, but maybe he so clever that he knew he would never get fired from Nebraska and have to be the AD for the next 20 years.........working all the time......stressing.... but if he goes to A&M and get's fired in 3 years, he still gets PAID. And then he can retire and enjoy life during his 50's with his fam with millions. Who would really care at that time? That's what I would do. Think ousside of the box. Be a lifer at Nebraska, or go to A&M, get fired, and then Enjoy your wealth with your fam and friends living on the Coast for the next 20 years instead. I mean, who wouldn't want to do that instead ?
  21. That is a big part of the game when the play breaks down immediately and you have to improvise. But that isn't what happens every play though. I would rather have a QB put the pressure on the defense with quick accurate throws and keeping the secondary moving backwards with their first step, then to worry about accuracy on scramble throws. Because if you can't be accurate short and downfield, then yes - you better have something in your bag when it breaks down. Penix recognizes pressure and zips it to the backs before he gets touched - most of the time. He did that for 2+ years - avoiding sacks and pressure. And that is more important when moving the chains than ad-libbing and scrambling around and - wait for it - a holding call penalty. Now if he was only winning 8 out of 12 games, then there could be a case for nitpicking. But he just kept winning which means he was aware of situations and kept doing something right every game.
  22. In the league "NBA" (and the greats in college basketball), when the best coaches sense a momentum change is happening, they will kill the flow of the game immediately and call time outs. Because it disrupts the momentum and it slows the game down to a halt. They do it instantly, several times before it gets too late. Interupt a team's rhythm minute by minute and inbetween foul shots if need be. Greg Popovich, Pat Riley, Steve Kerr, Mike Krzyzewski, Bobby Knight, etc... Hoiberg saw the flood happening but did nothing about it. This is a coaching mistake by Fred and he should have put a stop to it right away. Even if it took a few TO's to shake it up. But instead he just watched like Jason Kidd and saw it unravel before it was too late. Bad HC job IMHO
  23. @Mavric regarding Penix, I felt like he should be #3QB or #2QB in the draft. So I don't get it either. He zips the ball with great accuracy and quick release. He has a great attitude, very positive, and teammates love him and follow him. He had ACL and non-throwing shoulder injuries, but he was injury free his final 2 seasons with Washington. I'm guessing that is what they worry about. So he is quick but doesn't run because of it (past injuries). He's 23/24. He's a lefty, 6'2 216, with almost the biggest hands at the combine. I watched most of his games because I just think he throws the best ball ever. If I didn't have the #1QB pick, I'd gladly grab him.
  24. I appreciate everyone's take on Yellowstone so that I don't feel crazy. But I think you are dead right that it tried to be Dallas.....but in Montana??!?. And nearly every character in the series is awful, they look to leathery, and dusty in what they think cowboys and country girls dress like..... Just rich and spoiled and backstabbing and bulls#!t....... Montana seems like a peaceful place so I feel bad about that. I gave it 5 more episodes, just in case. Nope, it didn't change my mind other than wasting hours that I could have enjoyed playing my guitar lol.
