so if CU blows us out, what will be the effect on season ending coaching changes? A presser on Monday to announce the termination of Cally. It will be up to the new coach to assemble a staff. I think it will be done in a calm way by TO, addressing a lot of positives about Cally and so forth. on the other hand if we win, does anyone think that would save at least Cally's job? HELL TO THE NO! The hiring of TO as interim AD mid season was to alert the obvious, that changes would happen after the season.

If Miles bolts LSU for Michigan, he would have to pay $1.25 million to leave (per his contract). He went to Michigan & played for Bo Schembechler. It's the only gig (as far as a "dream job") I think he would take over his current place.

I thought Callahan was given a second chance after Tech hung 70 on his azz. Then I thought he got a second chance after he got waxed by OU and called the fans /// hillbillies. But then I thought he got a second chance the following year when he got lit up three straight games by Mizzou, OU, and KU. So then I thought he got a second chance by explaining to the Big 12 that his throat gesture, um, well he "had it up to here"... hilarioius. And this season so far, when I'm thinking he was given a second chance after USC, after Ball State, after Missouri, after Okie State, after A&M, after Kansas - (what was that?), I think he pretty much has run out of second chances. But this is my opinion, maybe a little harsh, or maybe it's a 2 X 4 right in the middle of the forehead. Wakes you up. Gets your attention. Sometimes its needed. He tried. It didnt work out. He moves on. We move on. Time for a different direction. A new chance.

I made the argument last year that Miami, Fla and FSU didnt deserve a bowl invitation by finishing with .500 records and losing conference records in the ACC. So I guess I should be fair and say NU wouldnt deserve it either. If they get invited, all is fair then. Dont even want to think of the Hogwash that comes with "20 something consecutive bowl appearances". Or the "at least they made a bowl game the past few years" crap. Because it is.

Texas / OU is exciting because it's early in the season. Miami / FSU has not been anything the past five years. Since there is no conf championship game, Ohio State/Michigan stays a huge rivalry because they know it's the last game of the regular season every year.

OU or a cinderella team. Pac 10 & Big 10 have no conference championship game. How pathetic is that? And I'm a little exhausted from the constant SEC publicity, specifically Florida & LSU.

The story I've been given is that certain people were agreed to by Bo and Tom. Many of the staff will be Bo's sole choice. Tom thinks Bo reminds him of Devaney in his early years and they seem to get along well. Anyway, they are working together to bring in a staff for Bo. Most of it will be decided after Bo is announced HC. This isn't just another made up post. The information comes via an old friend with statewide influence and University connections. It could be a bunch of crap but I think my friend is well connected enough that it probably is factual. When the AD was cut lose he got word to me about it well before the press conference announcement. Sorry, you'll have to wait at least 8 more days before you know for sure. P.S. How come all the rumors always involve Pelini? Also, wouldnt the HC take some time to choose his own assistants AFTER he is hired? If dude agrees to someone else assembling his staff for him just so he can be head coach, then that is lame. Hiring OC and DC is HUGE. So if that argument gets brushed aside, then the intentions for this rumor is just another attempt at pumping Pelini sunshine. I'm just saying...

I think the whole Steve Pederson firing was a temporarily diversion until the end of the season. The axe is mighty and it's a comin'. I dislike how the past month has been dramatized to death. It's been a crazy atmosphere everywhere. Cally tried, he failed, it didnt work, fans go crazy mad, media stirs the pot, hire Dr. Tom, finish the season, evaluate, and finally... wait for his decision. Nobody knows until Coach Osborne holds a presser.
