  1. His knee injury turned out to be nothing bad. He was just hurting for his final game. I am hoping Ganz can beat him out for the 2nd spot so he'd redshirt then we would have Lee for the next 3 years starting. Witt would get pushed to only having the chance to start one year if that were to happen. BUT everyone remember Vince Young was going to rule at Texas for antoher year then Snead would take over the reigns which would leave Colt out of a job. What happened? Colt proved he is worth something and caused the baby to transfer.
  2. We are not in dire need of ol. Our ol this year was serviceable. Next year we have 3 RS Fresh coming in and return the entire line (unless you consider Mann part of the line in which case we still return Byford). We need him at DT which is where he will play. We are losing our ENTIRE DL does not not constitute dire need?
  3. Jones and Green will start. He has the experience and the drive. These new recruits will push him but this latest "demotion" will have him motivated through next year. Who leads the defense in tackles? Jones... and you don't do that by sucking. I think it is pretty lame to think that someone brand new to D1A football is going to start over a solid performer in D1A the previous year. Bowman will probably be back in shape and take Grixby's spot. The last spot will more than likely end up with Culbert or Asante. Remember Culbert has a year in the system and is only 1 year behind Asante as far as total college goes (Asante is 3 for 3 and Culbert is 4 for 3). So whos experience would you prefer? 1 year in juco redshirting and 1 year showing well in juco -or- 1 year in the defense plus had a solid game against Chase and his Misery buddies. I'd say this one is a push and we will need summer camp to decide. I think the other three spots are pretty much taken save for some season ending injury. CB - Jones CB - Bowman FS - Green (moving from strong) SS - Culbert or Asante
  4. Rivals is retarded. High school players cannot sign until feb. They can enroll in classes however. They are enrolled so they "thought" (I don't think they can think but whatever) they had signed. Once they start classes it is as good as a signed LOI.
  5. apparently he has signed. We should be good to go.
  6. We should be worried. He is considering Arizona State now. The problem with worrying though, is that it thins out your hair and it won't convince Murrillo one way or the other. I found that out last year with Rulon and Palmer. So just have a drink and keep your hair.
  7. Player: Dan Hoch Hometown: Harlan, IA Position: OT Height: 6’6” Weight: 285 40 time: 5.0 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Iowa St, Kansas, Kansas St. Favorites: Committed to Nebraska Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: Odds of Becoming a Cornhusker: 85% May be our next 2008 commit. Getting one out of Iowa early would be fantastic
  8. Looks like they took him off the visit list. I haven't heard any stories.
  9. This is such a lame thread that I didn't read any responses so I'm sorry if I repeat someone here. RECRUITING A LOT OF NEBRASKA KIDS WILL GET YOU A HEAD COACHING JOB AT OHIO. Why the hell would we take 5-6 Nebraska kids just to take them? This staff is looking and finding the best talent. Should we take out some of these Texas kids we have and replace them with the two star Nebraska kids? Don't be retarded.
  10. Sam is spending this entire year learning the system. It will be like Taylers second year only Tayler had to play his first year here. We saw the difference between Tayler against WF and Tayler against UM. Sam will start next year. Ganz will backup. Witt and Lee will redshirt. It is not that hard to figure out.
  11. OK so I guess he will look like a great running back next year however, he won't be a freshman. He is going to prep school (saves eligibility) somewhere in NY. I called juco and it was prep, my bad.
  12. Scared of competition? I hope not. Helu will probably be moved to safety. Castille and Mendoza have nothing in common with how they run or how they will be used. Remember Glenn went through the same thing after he committed and the coaches told him to stay so hopefully that will be what happens here.
  13. He's in Louisville right now. LAME!
  14. I am not sure what all the love for Devine is for. I've seen his videos and yes he is shifty and hard to bring down but AP was a freshman heisman winner (they didn't want to give it to a freshman so the usc homos took it) and a bad a$$. It is easy for someone to say who the next Barry Sanders is on these boards, hell I've seen McFadden, Goodsen and Spiller and that is just from last years class, but will he actually be that good? Probably will look like it because he is going to end up in a junior college. But I doubt he is a finalist at the heisman his freshman year if he does go D1A.
  15. So you think we have not one but two backs better than anyone else in the big 12? That's funny. You are also saying we have the two best d ends? Purify is raw he might be the best next year. The title of this thread should be called "The Homer Calls of the Day"
  16. has john blake closed the deal on anyone lately? what's up with him?
  17. See Chuck Gordon from Kansas. They just want their ego stroked a bit. He is not going pro. If Bowman wasn't good enough to go pro last year why would he think he is good enough after an injury and sitting all year? That one doesn't make sense either. Purify is probably the best prospect but he wasn't used much in the first half of the year. It would not surprise me to see him go but he will make several more million by putting up great numbers in a senior campaign.
  18. My god blackshirt this is a message board! Chill out. I don't think that class is measured by an anonymous message board. Pull the crab out jeez. Anyway with any person we don't get I think to myself, and sometimes even post, I didn't want him anyway. So what, I didn't want Mallett after he committed to Meatchicken. Now I don't Harris. Should I call the Waaaaaaambulance for you? GET OVER IT!
  19. Man, Jermaine is a stickler if that is all he had to say about his visit. He must be on the payroll of the paid services.
  20. I believe Witt and Lee will take up a scholly from last year. Mendoza is also a mid year transfer so he should as well. I think we have scholly's available from Palmer, Allen, and Henry who didn't make it here. I think we can take 5 or 6 more for this class. There is a good chance that Murillo is one of them due to AZST coach given the can.
  21. I hope he is not moved to cornerback. Grixby is fast, but his size has always been a problem. At 5'8", he just will not match up to most receivers. I doubt he goes to corner. In this class we already have 4 db's and Hagg could/should be moved as well. We will be stacked from now on at db. This was just a tough year for everyone.
  22. This post doesn't make much sense. Here's a post for ya: I have talked with some players and they told me they are happy here. I have talked with some coaches and they told me they practice every day of the week. I have talked with some players dads and they told me they like the coaches. I have talked with some players moms and they told me Cally is hot. I have talked with some athletic directors and they told me Nebraska is going to win the MNC. How can you just post something based on nothing and expect an intelligent response?
  23. Supposedly we are taking 23-24 recruits this year. Right now there are 18 listed commits on Rivals. They don't have Washington listed yet which gives us 19. So since we are only taking 4 more (I think we are taking closer to the 23 number than the 24) who will they be and will it be good enough depth for next year and the year after? ross (soft commit) db murrillo db hicks lb asante db burkes ol cornell ol barfield dt fleener te aimie te/wr townsend dt patin lb zusevics ol hundley db I guess we can't have 'em all but I would kind of like them all.
  24. They are now looking at him as an every down back. When they first started recruiting him they said he'd be a great short yardage back but he has proved this season that he is an every down type. I would hope he can redshirt and be the third back behind Lucky and Glenn after that redshirt year.
  25. No that is not the case. If you are only offered two scholarships, one from USF and one from UNL then you will probably never see the two deep at Nebraska. It would be a wise move if he wants to see the field to go somewhere where he has a shot. I am not saying he sucks because I don't know. I am speaking in general terms. If you are a JuCo and Minn hasn't come with an offer or KSU hasn't came knocking maybe you are not that good.
