  1. Perhaps, but I’ll believe it when I see it in a real game
  2. “I am going to the Nebraska spring game on May 1," Hall said. "I hope there is a lot of deep passing in the spring game and using their wide receivers a lot." Uh oh, Sounds like he hasn’t been paying attention to the offense the last couple years.
  3. Precisely. Problem is he is in love with the Quacks. His Coach at Salesian mentioned how much D liked Helfrich, hopefully the new coach isn't making as good of an impression. Surprised that SC has stopped recruiting him, don't know why they would let a player like that get out of their backyard. He must have told them he wasn't interested.
  4. I haven't posted very often lately, but I had to chime in on this kid. I've been watching and evaluating high school talent here in So Cal for the last 25 years and Lenoir is probably the best football player I've ever seen with the ball in his hands and I've seen a ton of em. Freakish athlete, I'm talking once and a generation type of stuff. He doesn't strike me as a natural cover corner but he's so fast and athletic that he gets away with it at the high school level. I really hope the staff can find a way to make him N. Unfortunately, in my honest opinion I think he ends up at SC, they're really making a push for him and selling him on replacing Adoree Jackson, which he absolutely would. Hope I'm wrong.
  5. I checked out the camp today, ton of talent out there. Gebbia is legit!

This! Not big enough to play on the line and not fast enough to play LB.
  7. The timeline for Pelini keeps changing. This year, 2013, has been the one circled as The Year since the schedule was announced. Soft crossover games, and only 2 road trips that moved the needle at all, Mich and PSU, and one being crippled by sanctions. Fourth year starter at QB, deepest receiving corps ever at the school. No, no more time. This is not like 1979. This is not a coach who cant get past one nemesis who just happened to be a football superpower. Its continual embarrassments on national TV. Losing to Minnesota, and getting pushed around the the process. This is about a team using a plan devised from one of the worst failures in program history, and the 'defensive guru' not having an answer to the question. A question that you would think he wouldnt be able to stop thinking about. This is about having at least one game a year where the team looks completely unprepared and unfocused. This is about a coach who looks lost and confused during postgames, one who has no answers. One who needs to be shown the door. Not much I can dispute there, except to suggest that Osborne DID have some similar issues. But the passage of time has let them fade. Had you rounded up any group of grizzled farmers grabbing a beer at the local bar after a loss in 1978, they could probably have listed off a bunch of complaints just as valid, and just as specific as you did. I am really torn, and in the end I guess I am glad this is not up to me. Everyone here should be, too. I would suck as an AD. I'd welcome the challenge and would already have a short list of candidates!

Brilliant post, but somehow The Sker a.k.a Bo Pelini will disagree with you.
  9. Welp....He's wrong. I don't blame Taylor nearly as much as I do the coaching staff so hopefully thats what he meant.
  10. We've been doing that every 6 years since Osborne's retirement. How's that working for us? Don't even get your question. So are you suggesting that we stick with a coach that is not elevating the program just because past coaching hires have failed? How has Pelini not elevated the program? Do you need to revisit Callahan's record and missed bowls? Yes, he's elevated the program if you're using Callahan as the benchmark, but I'm seeing a team that's been a complete embarrassment nationally. Where are we going? Are you happy with the direction of the program? I'm not, I think changes need to be made. Actually I do like what I see from a helicopter view. Pelini has learned quickly from personnel mistakes he made in the recent years. Our defensive line, while young, is going to be exciting to watch develop. LBs have been an Achilles heel, and I think once the maturation catches up with their athleticism, we could be in good shape there too. On offense, we've been led the past few seasons by a high risk/high reward quarterback with no proven depth there. Hopefully that's changing. I don't think musical head coaches is the answer. How do you not get sick of seeing the same thing over and over and over again? I haven't forgot the Callahan years. They were not that long ago. And despite what I read on this board sometimes, Husker football didn't begin in 1994. I'm now convinced that TheSker is Bo Pelini. Nothing personal coach, but I think its time for a change. Nothing personal taken. I'm convinced you get my point. If your point is that you'd like to keep your job even though you have no clue how to fix the problems that exist, than yes I get your point coach!
  11. The most intelligent post I've read all day, Thank you +1
  12. The team my son's pop warner team was playing ran that jet sweep. They ran it twice and were successful, but after that our coaches adjusted and shut it down. I'll have our coach forward their adjustments to coach Bo and his defensive staff!

  14. Not delusional, how bout just a bad coach? In his post game interview he stated that "Taylor had nothing to do with this loss". Really Coach? ...Wow. I'm convinced Bo's trying to get himself fired at this point, I'm amazed how many board member still have his back!

  16. It was shocking to see what appeared to be a very slow QB and RB making our defense look even slower. Something was not right on either side of the ball. You think?
  17. Thank you! Happy to know not everyone on this board is clueless!
  18. And Josh Mitchell, and Thad Randle, and Andrew Rodriguez, and some others who aren't coming to mind right now who keep playing without producing. HEY! I kinda like Josh MItchell! I coached against Josh Mitchell at the high school level, lets just say I was surprised that he got a D1 scholarship.
  19. This shouldn't even be a question, Bo should have been fired weeks ago!
  20. Why do you love him? What has he done for us? Not being a jerk, its an honest question and I'm curious. In my opinion I can't wait for him to graduate. When he is healthy, really healthy, like his freshman year, his speed is unmatched. I like it. If TM is not the fastest player on the field, I don't like him as QB. Excellent point!
