  1. Also remember that was a bad game for us as far as scheduling. We were coming off a loss to Texas that should have been a win, and would have been a win save a fluke fumble and we had our homecoming game against Missouri coming up the following week which at the time looked like it would be the deciding factor that would determine who won the north. It was easily the biggest trap game we had and going up 16-0 like we did was probably the worst thing that could have happened. Had OSU played us tough for the entire first half I think our boys would have kept it together and pulled ahead in the 2nd half to put it away but we ended up thinking it was turning into a walkthrough and the guys just let their guard down too much and let Okie turn things around and when you do that on the road things can spiral out of control rather quickly.
  2. Don't think so. The powers that be were smart enough to realize all those years ago that its better to have one GREAT program in the state that grabs up the top instate recruits and competes on a national stage for other recruits rather than two mediocre or above average programs that are recruiting against each other for those same recruits each year... (see Kansas/Kansas State, Iowa/Iowa State etc.) I don't think we should go around changing that now.
  3. If you are talking about the espn greatest team of all time thing, they did show clips of Defences. They showed the '71 team sacking OU's qb in the game of the century, they showed miami's 2001 D forcing a fumble and they showed one of the other teams (don't recall which team) intercepting a pass in the endzone... there were far more offensive highlights than defensive ones though.. and btw the ONLY Special Teams highlight shown the entire show was Johnny "The Jet" Rogers putting every man woman and child in the isle.
  4. I'm not sure I like this show too much, I'm starting to gain a tiny, minute, microscopic amount of respect for slobberin lou and its killing me.
  5. All Red Final! '95 Nebraska 69.8% '01 Miami 30.2% '71 Nebraska 61.8% '05 Texas 38.2% = '95 Nebraska '71 Nebraska
  6. Whoo '71 Nebraska 50.8% '04 USC 49.2% '71 is movin on to take on VY.
  7. If you guys are members of some of the other boards such as the rivals board, scout or bigredboard etc. mention this over there, I can't seem to get my internet to let me log in anywhere now.
  8. sorry for the re-reply but please also make sure to vote AGAINST Notre Dame '88 just to shut up the slobberin fool.
  9. The ESPN Greatest College Team ever thing is on ESPN2 and ESPN Classic right now. If you haven't voted at espn.com yet go vote for the first round, if you already voted for the first round turn on the show and log onto espn.com and get ready to vote for the Huskers into the finals. GBR
  10. This team only painfully reminds me of what Nebraska could have been had TO not retired early.
  11. Now this kid looks like a WCO HB! great pickup. Good compliment to the slashing ability of Helu and the power of Castiille.
  12. Hey guys whats with the turnaround here? If this guy was good enough to come in and make an impact when he was looking at us it seems stupid to turn around and call him a bum when he isn't. We may not like losing players to schools like KSUCKS but we shouldn't turn on a player and act like they are any worse of an athlete because of it. My god men, we're Nebraska lets show some class.
  13. I definately think Colorado needs to go. Wether they ever get themselves a goodteam is irrelavent. They are cheapshot artists who have classless fans. HOWEVER I wouldn't want to replace them with a school like TCU, The conference is already Texas heavy enough, bringing in TCU would give the Texas schools even more leverage when negotiating things such as conference championship venues and things like that. Also wouldn't want a team like Hawaii as that makes travel issues for the team durring visiting years, its not a marketable game and theres no recruiting base to be won for any current big 12 school by bringing in a team from so far away. I'd much rather bring in a Minnesota or a Illinois which are closer to the nexus, though my first choice would actually be a school like Cincinatti. With a bigger conference with a CCG and a BCS bid to draw players from that good Ohio talent base they could be a good team for the North.
  14. We aren't that weak at QB bext year, remember Hillebrand is redshirting so he will already know the offense and will be a quality backup next year incase of injury and is one of the top candidates to start in 2009... that said more depth is never a bad thing.
  15. Woah, give Nunn a bit of slack here, last year he pretty much was our recieving corps half the time. Yes the fumble hurt badly in this game but I don't know what he really could have done differently there. It was a really nice tackle at the knees and the ball happened to hit off his helmet as he was going down. Stuff happens and there were plenty of other oppertunities to win the game besides that one, however I don't think Nunn should be returning kicks anymore, I thought he was done after his fumble last game when he was replaced by Hardy and I think Hardy or Swift should definately get the job now. I prefer hardy because of his speed and the fact that Swift has a bigger role on the offense and would tire quicker also handling returns.
  16. Alright thanks for the clarification guys. I must have missed where he dove and caught it as it happened quickly and the camera view sucked and was never replayed. Thanks again for the response.
  17. I'm not an expert on the rules and was wondering if we were slighted two points in the Texas game. On the two point conversion attempt the Texas defender intercepted the pass from Taylor, now in college football I believe the play is still live and the defender COULD have taken the interception all the way back and given the horns two points, however he began celebrating and dropped the ball instead and one of our recievers, I think it was Swift, picked up the ball in the endzone and handed it to the official. I'm just wondering if that should have been ruled a fumble and a recovery by the huskers for two? In no way do I mean this to mean we were cheated or that we should have won due to this play but its something that has been bugging me since I noticed it.
  18. Someone may want to let Schlabach know that just because Sam Keller is in the Big XII, Arizona State is not. He has Arizona State playing Rutgers in the Texas Bowl which is supposed to match a Big East team up against a Big XII team... unless of course he doesn't think ISU, BU, KU or KSU are good enough to become bowl eligable which is fine with me.
  19. I'd been readin here for a while and just never joined till now but I had to say somethin bout that quote there seeing as you are giving the kittycats way too much credit. Last I heard what would have been our 3rd or 4th best Tight End is starting at KSUSucks. Plus, Prince wouldn't recruit our #3 QB because he was given more than two stars out of highschool anyways.
