  1. sorry i meant is there and news on another possible commit this weekend. not on a new commit
  2. any news on the new commit? i was hoping for at least one more this weekend. tell me something good please.
  3. We currently have 4 offensive lineman committed to this class and i have read on this board and others that cole pensick is possibly being recruited as a center. so that would make 5 o lineman. right now minues pensick we have 1 DT and 1 DE but I believe that Emerson Evans the DE was recruited as a LB. So that would only make 1 defensive lineman in this class. doesn't this seem kind of backwards to anyone else but me? we are deeper on the offensive line than the defensive side in my opinion. so what are we doing? is maybe 1 or 2 of the offensive recruits going to try D? reading between the lines i think that baker will be staying on the D line. and hopefully we will close the class with 2 of 3 d lineman. sorry this is jumbled it was a spur of the moment random thought.
  4. is he hurt? espn has it as a severe injury? http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/t...ol?schoolId=158 and this picture from his high school website has him on crutches... http://www.daytonisd.net/schools/dhs/DHS_W...N_HOME_PAGE.htm any news on this?
  5. was at his game tonight...he was physically the biggest player on either team. he would switch back and forth between right and left tackle, but his main position was on the left side. they always ran to his side, and even tried to get him out in space to block for screens. he did poorly with this, he is slow getting to blocks and usually didn't even hit anyone as the backs would just run by him...ran the play about 5 times in the game. he looked decent tonight but i think it was because he was just bigger than anyone else...he was slow, hardly moves his feet, and stand straight up right off the snap....he could be good with some coaching but i think a lot of coaching. i was talking to one of his coaches fathers and mentioned to me that he thinks he will end up at oregon so we'll see....
  6. i noticed this week that javario burkes jumped ahead of mike smith as the starting left tackle. i know that the word "or" is in between their names, but before this week mike smith was listed first. personally i would rather have burkes inside at guard or at right tackle. to me he is just too big to be agile enough for the left tackle spot. look at nicks for example. he was too big for left tackle in the pros even though scouts raved about his feet, so the saint moved him inside to guard and is now the starter at LG. i just think that with the level of athletes in todays game and more offenses using the zone blocking scheme where guards don't pull as much, the need for slimmer agile tackles a need. what do you all think?
  7. sorry i quoted wrong apparently i am dumb and couldn't figure it out.
  8. Moving both Asante and Thenarse (or Culbert) to LB would make some sense. We need speed there. maybe if we had a hint of depth at saftey one could be feasible.
  9. from what i saw tonight it was a mix between the spread and the wco....we spread the field yes but we still dinked and dunked down the field which it typical wco. i think that i was very effective and got more play makers in the game at one time. mcneil, paul...glad to see those 2 in on a lot of plays.
  10. p.s. this was by far Asante's best game as a husker.
  11. I didn't see him on the field at all. Nor did I see Thenarse, or Culbert. Why not? Anyone with answers fill me in please.
  12. i went to his game last night where mullen (his team) played cherry creek. mullen physically dominated this game, and their defense wouldnt let cherry creek move the ball at all. logan and the other safety on the team were in on just about every stop which doesn't say much for the front 7 but a lot for those 2. logan physically stood out, he was more athletic and simply just looked like a better player than anyone else on the field. overall i would say he needs some weight training and maybe something to make him a little more humble. after half time he was the only one on the team that didn't go through the stretch's and the team "lets go" huddle. he was on the sidelines alone....also he wasn't really a vocal guy on the bench as i was on the sidelines. overall good player who should redshirt if he commits.
  13. thanks for answering my original question.
  14. doesn't their progress go toward the bigger picture? i'm not saying put them on the field...i simply asked what the word on them was. and not everyone bitched.
  15. whats the word on some of the "pelini recruits"? baker? compton, fisher, pj smith? i thought at least a couple of those guys would have seen some PT. why havent they for those of u who know more than me? thanks.
  16. why not a white out? i understand that black is badass and that we have the "blackshirt" tradition...but why not a whiteout? white is the other dominate color along with red in the husker uniform? switch it up once, see how it goes? what could it hurt? also to anyone who cares...neither simi kuli nor david ross played for oregon state on thursday...both of whom where husker commits before changing to the beavers...
  17. I'll be in for the game on Sat. from out of town and I am looking for a good place to go the morning of a game. I'll be downtown early since my train rolls in around 6am. Thanks.
  18. I haven't heard anything about the kicking situation? Can someone enlighten me. Will it basically be the same as last year? Thanks.
  19. so now that spring practice is almost over and the spring game is in only 1 week, with position changes and how things have gone, whats the depth chart look like? who will be playing with the 1st team next weekend? sals
  20. i think that would be the best option. and if need be in an injury situation asante could move back.
  21. I'm not 100% positive but aren't the 3 of these guys at the safety position right now? To me it seems like a waste to have one of these guys on the bench. All 3 need to be on the field at the same time. Thoughts?
  22. I would imagine that the defense will see an infusion of young players. RSFR, and true FR especially at LB and CB.
  23. http://www.alligator.org/articles/2007/11/...otball/foot.txt Looks like he should have come here last year when he had the chance. Good luck to him.
