Football: Christensen released from jail
LINCOLN (AP) - Nebraska football player Andy Christensen is out of jail after posting bond.
Christensen was arrested last weekend outside a downtown Lincoln bar on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.
Christensen was released from jail shortly after 5:30 Tuesday afternoon. Earlier in the day, defense attorney Bob Creager had asked that Christensen's $500,000 bail be lowered to $300,000. But Judge Mary Doyle refused to review the figure, saying she was recusing herself from the case because she knows the alleged victim.
A Lancaster County Jail staff member said she did not know who paid the $50,000 that was required for Christensen's release.
Hopefully this guy.
