  1. To answer the last thing, no Frost was not widely liked, but there are other, more important reasons why Frost shouldn't be given the keys. Let's hear.
  2. Gotcha media moments are just the icing on the cake. They're one of the last entertaining things we have before the search starts.
  3. Bo said the long runs aren't that shocking because he's seen the scout team do it against our defense.
  4. What do you feel is your best win? "I'm not gonna sit here and apologize" "The program is headed in the right direction."
  5. There is a lot more going on than just boss (Eichorst) evaluating employee's (Pelini) performance and then making a decision. There is the Board of Regents (at least one of which is personal friends with Bo), Perlman, the big boosters and even some influence (perhaps indirectly at this point) from TO still. A lot of politics.
  6. Wisconsin will beat both Iowa and Minnesota. Iowa might keep it close for a while but Wisconsin will pull away. Ohio State will then beat Wisconsin the B1G title game. Tune in to FOX on Dec. 6 for a Luke Fickell demonstration on how to slow down a one-dimensional offense.
  7. Did you miss the second half?
  8. I think you're right. Maybe the 5 number is teams that finished in the top 25. Not sure. I thought it was at the time they were ranked by the AP when the game was being played. Mentioned during telecast late in the game I think. It looks like our ranked wins are (according to huskers.com) 2013 Georgia 2012 Michigan 2011 Michigan State 2011 Penn State 2010 Okie State 2010 Missouri 2009 Missouri 2009 Oklahoma 2009 Arizona Anyone noticing a trend? 2009: 3 2010: 2 2011: 2 2012: 1 2013: 1 2014: ? 2012's win was primarily against QB Russell Bellomy, who is one of the worst FBS quarterbacks I've seen play. 2013's was in a meaningless bowl game in which Georgia had questionable inspiration and also dropped several easy passes down the stretch. IMO the last really good win we had was 24-3 against MSU in 2011.
  9. Let's break it down further. I'm going to use the Massey composite rankings since they are much better than the AP, and the end of season rankings since they are more indicative of how good a team was than the current week rank (which can be hugely inaccurate earlier in the season). Against the top 40, Bo is 16-22 with an average score of Nebraska 25, Opponent 30. Here's a breakdown of that: vs. 31-40 Record: 6-1 Avg. Score: Nebraska 32, Opponent 17 vs. 21-30 Record: 5-4 Avg. Score: Nebraska 25, Opponent 33 vs. 11-20 Record: 4-8 Avg. Score: Nebraska 20, Opponent 29 vs. 1-10 Record: 1-9 Avg. Score: Nebraska 27, Opponent 37
  10. I would definitely take a look at Memphis DC Barry Odom. Unfortunately he is a former Mizzou player and coach, but I'll try to overlook that. His first season at Memphis was 2012. They were atrocious before that and have gotten better each season.
  11. I like the idea of being able to pay Moglia substantially less since he is obviously not in coaching for the money, and his net worth is at least five times as much as any coach in football (college or NFL). Currently Pelini 3,230,000 Beck 700,000 Pap 310,000 Total: 4,240,000 Proposed Moglia 1,500,000 (current salary: 175,000) Frost: 800,000 (current salary: 400,000) Proven DC TBD: 800,000 Total: 3,100,000 We save money and likely get a much better product. Moglia has another five years in him easily and can help pick out his replacement at that point.
  12. Again... Why do people want Frost??? He essentially runs the SAME offense as Beck does!!! No. Beck tries to emulate several offenses and ends up with a dumbed-down version of them all (not to mention his play calling deficiencies, especially in big games). Frost runs Kelly's system which he learned directly through Kelly himself. Look at the results. 531 ypg this year. 565 ypg last year (more than ANY year under Kelly himself!).
  13. Frost's apparent refusal to move laterally is partially (perhaps primarily) due to some hard feelings with Bo from a few years back, right? Frost currently earns $400,000 per year. Beck earns $700,000. If Bo was no longer in the picture and we offered Frost a 75% pay raise, do you honestly believe he turns it down? It's very difficult to imagine him doing so. Also, Helfrich is 41 years old. If Frost is holding out hope of replacing him, he's got a long wait.
  14. We are broken beyond repair, but a wins against unranked Minnesota and Iowa will... repair us? Huh.
  15. We didn't learn anything. Every issue is recurring. It's incredible how fickle most fans are. Those questioning the program's direction and/or the coaching staff after the Purdue game or the McNeese St. game (or any other game that wasn't a loss) were tarred and feathered. Now everyone jumps over to their side, as if some revelation has occurred. It hasn't. This happens every year, and it will continue to happen. Wins over Minnesota, Iowa and/or some halfway decent team in some meaningless bowl game wouldn't change that, although you can bet many fans would convince themselves it would. For two seasons we looked like a legitimate top 20 program: 2009 and 2010. This was fueled primarily by the huge amount of defensive talent stockpiled by Callahan's staff. (Even then, we failed to lose less than four games or win a conference championship.) Since that dried up, we have been very mediocre, struggling to hit the nine win mark in a bad conference and always embarrassing ourselves at least once on the big stage. 2011: L 17-48 vs. Wisconsin and L 17-45 vs. Michigan. The writing was on the wall. But most clung to the excuse that we needed time to adjust to the Big 10 style. Nonsense. We were getting beat in the basics: blocking, tackling, coaching adjustments. 2012: L 38-63 vs. Ohio St. and 31-70 vs. Wisconsin. Breaking records of the wrong kind. 2013: L 21-41 vs. UCLA and L 17-38 vs. Iowa. 2014: L 24-59 vs. Wisconsin.
  16. Get a coach than can manage the bigger picture and RECRUIT. Doesn't need to be a genius X's and O's guy. Bob Davie as DC. Scott Frost as OC. Recruit a quarterback. A real quarterback. Not a safety/cornerback/running back who we think we can maybe turn into a passer.
  17. Yes I believe we added #2. That makes seven games worse than Cosgrove's worst.
  18. It's funny that this game somehow surprised people. This was nothing new. We know what we have: Mediocre, inexperienced coaches and slightly above average talent.
  19. When was the last ranked team that gave up a 56-0 run?
  20. We're 8-2. That's really good guys. Right?

It'll be good when we get to 9 wins. Amirite?
