  1. You think Nebraska is the only fanbase to have a few fans who would do something like that? Umm...ever been to a Missouri game? Some classy fans there. Heck even this years K-State game once again, lots of stories of classy fans there as well. Your home state I believe. Even outside of the Big 12. Auburn fans showing up at the airport with signs yelling at newly hired Gene Chizik as he got off the plane. No offense but get a clue. It happens everywhere. Did I mention a word about classless fan bases? I believe I was talking only about over-sensitive fans who start random message board topics about radio shows that don't agree with their opinions and hurt their feelings. No offense but read my post and stay on topic. I don't care about the class part and how other fans treat other bases. I don't think Nebraska is any better or any worse than anywhere else in that regard. I do care about fans who lack perspective and take anything said about the program or it's players or coaches personally like it was said about their mom. Like a certain morning radio show for instance. I still don't know what rumors they have started as Skull n bones said. I guess I don't like it that he is starting rumors about a morning radio show starting rumors.
  2. the irony here is quite wonderful really. Yes.....I'm b*tching about people b*tching......I get it. Guess I should do what you did and not pay anymore attention....
  3. I think if you get Schick's humor then they are funny. I grew up in Central Nebraska when Schick was the sports guy at the ABC affiliate in Kearney. I don't think they are flaming any topics either. So they have an alternate opinion on how they think Bo should act in front of the media. Big deal. That's the problem with a lot of Husker fans. If they EVER hear something said about their team that is negative or they don't agree with they get all butthurt and defensive. I live in KC now and they mention constantly about how Nebraska fans are the most defensive fan base ever and I can't say I disagree. An example: The morning show here in KC for 810 is made up of a KU guy and a Mizzou guy. You can tell they are not fans of Nebraska and they will poke fun sometimes but they aren't over the top like Keitzman in the afternoon. One of the morning hosts mentioned something about how he didn't agree with something Pelini did during a game. How he acted or something. Then they did a show at a remote in a restaurant 2 days later ad got to the restaurant to set up and an idiot Nebraska fan was waiting for them to cuss out the guy before they could even get on the air. Who does that? So what if someone has an alternate opinion than what you think or you don't agree with them!? Get over it and don't listen then. I swear people b*tch just to B*tch.
  4. I've never heard of this Osbourne fellow. A pet peeve of mine.... Also, the D 3 trophy is already named after Amos Alonzo Stagg. I don't think I've heard one person say they like anything about these names at all. I think the B10 tried WAY too hard to incorporate it's past into these names. They out thought themselves significantly.
  5. B1G TEN = SAAAAWING and a MISS Legends and Leaders = Strike 2 and 3. You're out!
  6. Pretty easy for Beebe to admit since it wasn't his error. He had nothing to do with the Big 12 when it formed.....So he can admit that his predessesors made an error.
  7. The Holiday bowl had only these two teams to select that were left. Just a bad situation all around....... Bowls aren't about who's deserving, it's about the bottom line. Shatel's column puts the selection that happened in perspective a little bit. Link
  8. You're totally contradicting yourself. The fact that nobody wants to play this game, coupled with the fact that it's a no-win situation for NU, is exactly why they should've declined. No I'm not! The players deserve a bowl game and the extra 15 practices are very important. Ya, the bowl and matchup sucks but why on earth would you turn down a bowl game. The only time I've seen a bowl get turned down is when a coach gets fired and the team was barely eligible. Not contradicting anything.
  9. yes it is......this will be the bowl with the worst attendance in the last 50 years....no one will go, they will lose their ass on this bowl game, this will be regrettable for all involved, especially the bowl committee. The bowl committee really didnt have a choice. Nebraska and Washington were the only teams left in that position.
  10. I wasn't aware that the other bowls had already selected their teams. I don't keep close tabs on this stuff I assumed they were still putting pieces into place and the bowl "projections" on sports pages were just that. The three bowl below Holiday (Texas already announced Baylor, Pinstripe already announced K-St. and The other one already announced T. Tech.) KSU was announced a couple days ago and Baylor and Tech each announced earlier today. So Nebraska basically for left with the last bowl left available. Also Washington was the only Pac-10 team left. I really do not think the Holiday bowl or anyone involved is going to be happy with this matchup. Maybe Washington because they get a shot at redemption after an embarassing game. It's really a lose/lose situation for Nebraska. You win, so what, you already beat them. Nebraska might not be as motivated and play a close game or even lose. One thing is for sure....This will be Bo's biggest test for motivating a team I think he's ever had in his coaching career....
  11. Whoever says they should decline this game are a bunch of complete numb skulls. And the bowls below this for the big 12 are already filled. I doubt the Holiday bowl is happy about this matchup either. The Pac-10 only has like 4 teams bowl eligible or something and Nebraska just fell to them. The Holiday bowl really had no other choice to be honest and neither do the teams playing in it. Washington will be amped up for another shot, but I just don't know how Nebraska could get motivated. This is a no win situation for Nebraska.
  12. EXACTLY, I'd pick Washington to cover no matter what the line.....I just don't see the team getting motivated after such let downs.....
  13. How could Nebraska get up to play a team they already demolished. I could see the team not being motivated at all and it being a much closer game......... What a major letdown......
  14. Link Sounds like there will be a little something on TV saturday night during the game as well with their old HS coach.
  15. Don't bite! She's fishing for nasty e-mails! It really is transparent.
  16. Old news. He said when he announced that he wasn't going to officially sign until the news from the investigation was out. That won't come out for a few more weeks. He really strikes me as a primma donna though. Very very selfish and me first.
  17. Dirk Chatelain says Owa is wearling an Orange shirt. OMG! OMG OMG@!
  18. The interesting thing about the rankings is that Rivals would actually rank us higher without Cotton, Marsh, and Evans. How does taking away 3 players actually make our class better? I believe that it is based on the average stars and points the program has in the class. Though I really don't know because I don't follow recruiting much until now. So if you add 2 stars where there weren't any then you move the average down.
  19. They didn't report it as fact. They said some reports are saying he's going there.
  20. I can see ISU asking it's fans to do that. Since the only reason ISU got the insight bowl over Mizzou is because they took 20,000 people there the last time they played in it. But from all reports ISU is having trouble selling tickets to the bowl game and Insight officials may have out thought themselves on this one....
  21. Found this from voter Len Berman, I clicked on his name in the counted votes section of stiffarmtrophy.com and this is the source for his vote. Which he voted Ingram #1. I believe this is a classic example of what is wrong with this award. "4. Full Disclosure My vote was due today. I'm one of those anonymous people who vote for the Heisman Trophy. It's been that way for years. It doesn't matter that I rarely see a college football game in person, they send me a ballot anyway. It also doesn't matter that other than Ernie Davis winning in 1961, I haven't been a huge fan of the award. (Ernie was the Syracuse running back who became the first black Heisman winner.) The Heisman goes to the "best player in college football." And that invariably means a running back or quarterback. I'm waiting for a grunt to win it..... some big slow offensive lineman. Anyway, on the theory of "what have you done for me lately" I voted for Alabama running back Mark Ingram. Obviously I'm all talk. "
