  1. i just CANNOT believe Castille is 240. he looks as fit as lucky but 20-30 lbs heavier. he must be, like, 5% body fat!!!
  2. i watched most of the game too. seemed like SC wasn't running any extra coverages i the scondary, looked like cover 2 all nite, (which prevents big pass plays), hardly blizted, and seemed a little too overanxious on pursuit (meaning trying to make highlight knockout hits). i expect them to be much more aggressive and sound in coverages and tackling when they play us. their offense, seriously, didn't seem extremely explosive like it has the couple years (but who CAN replace bush & co.?). even though they ran the most basic plays and vanilla offense ever, just their pure athletic advantage seemed like they should have busted more big plays. have said all that, i'm sure they will be more than up to the task in Lincoln. but, maybe should be gettin ready for more of a rumble
  3. well, boys...i have to agree. i just had a brand new daughter born on the 27th, but that's not stopping me from slapping a Huskers cheerleading outfit on her, and my old blackshirt t-shirt from 1983 on my 2 year old son and inviting 6 of my Husker buddies over to watch the game. if they get in the way, they gets out of the way. 1. God 2. Family 3. Community 4. Huskers you figure out the order come saturday's!!
  4. i think, you think what you think...ya know? obviously you feel a little 'half-empty' with the way things are going. i will comend you on this--you have put up quite an arguement in the face of a bunch of people who don't agree with you. you have stuck to your guns. non of us are going to convince you to change your mind. this is a pretty 'pro-Husker-half full' web site, however, and i think you aren't going to convince anyone to change their mind who already hasn't. seems like you are a diehard fan and ultimately want the best for the program. please at least see this one thing--it may, JUST MAY, be too early to tell if it is not working. great for all the other schools who turned it around in 2 years or less. maybe we are going to have another 40 year run, i hope so. Rest assured Bleed Red, if it is not callahan who is right for the job, the people in charge will figure it out and do something about it. UNTIL THEN--let's just cheer and hope for the wins to stack up! that is all from me. i am going to pray, make love to my wife, kiss my kids goodnite, and be ready for some Big Red Beatdown tomorrow. Go Big Red.
  5. luck is when talent meets opportunity? sweet!! we have a guy named Lucky on our team. we have pretty good talent. (Lucky being one of them!!) our opportunity is when we play the games!! lucky will be in the games!!! sounds like we will fulfill your obligation and win at least 10 games, becuase we have luck, opportunity, and talent...so lets see how we do!! k? m-k! callahan's not going anywhere. so if you don't like it...too bad. when we start winning the big ones come back on here so i can say, "still love you man, cuz your a Cornhusker fan."
  6. don't speculate?!? your whole thread is pure speculation. if, if ,if...all i was saying is we are getting close after a cosmic shift in philosophy. i don't see it differently. i know we lost a few bad games. i have a hole in my garage wall to prove how pissed i was after the okie state game. i'm not blind, but i see things with a little more periphrial than you maybe. your focus seems to be straight down the path of wins and loses. which is all that matters...in a couple more years after the dust of the change settles!! you can't measure progress of a game of inches, by trying to cram a mile in a millimeter.
  7. well, if we know where they're going to eat, we could put a little of 'Lloyd Christmas Surprise' in CockHerbstreit's coffee!!
  8. and also, no offense dude...but do you think callahan gets a rats butt if there are sites up to 'keep his feet to the fire'? he knows the pressure. he knows the expectations. his focus is on the team and reaching realistic goals far beyond the scope of what us arm chair coaches even begin to know what's going on in the offices and locker room. he cares about the fans, sure. but he cares for each individual player who sweats and bleeds for him. luckily, us Cornhusker fans aren't going anywhere with our loyalty so he can focus on coaching well and not putting money or behinds in the seats.
  9. yes!! i think he can consistently put us in the BIG XII Championship game nearly every year. and if we manage to win that 1 or 2 years in a row every 3-4 years, then we will be in a BCS bowl game 6-8 times per decade. and if we lose the CCG, but our team is respected enough (and it will be if we're winning the North year in, year out) then we can be an at large bid almost every year as well. but just remember, compeition isn't going anywhere! you think texas and aTm aren't trying to get to that level too. or even oklahama st and their $140 million dollar faciltites upgrade? think with your head instead of your heart!! ISU even fired a guy who beat us a couple times cuz they want to be competitive. everyone is trying. we are a fumble and a field goal kicker away from being 11-3 with two top ten upsets!! notre dame hasn't won jack in 20 years. SC was a wasteland for almost 12 years. OU was on sanctions and had a revolving door of coaches for 7 years!! we are only 10 years removed from a NC and one year removed from a divisional championship. cool your jets. see how the season plays out. we could be 12-2. or we might go 8-4. even my Dad, who played and coached for the 'old regime' says he thinks we ARE headed in the right direction, and he doesn't even like callaha and hates peterson. but facts are facts: our personnel and facilities are better than they were before. now we go out and execute football plays and we WILL be 10-12 wins per year again.
  10. i don't think it's weird at all. i travel so much for work i am constantly doing shiz by myself. it's actually a great way to meet people. they see you're by yourself and they talk to you easier. this year alone: skiing 311 church 5-6 movies yankees game in the bronx dallas mavericks game vs. suns cirque de solei it can be relaxing without having to wait on someone. of course i'd much rather have my wife or brothers with me. i bet you have a blast talking and cheering with complete strangers!! just don't try to start a One Man Wave.
  11. even if the backup is decent, he's not going to be as good as the starter. and, if the starter comes back, it'll be his first game. i see this as a poetential positive to control the line of scrimmage.
  12. yep 990 am. pinnacle sports network, i believe.
  13. i just read on ESPN.com that their starting center went down with a torn triceps. out 2-4 weeks. it said they don't have a lot of backup at that position. could be huge for us and Suh could eat a lesser man.
  14. they're love affair is with the SEC, they're love child is USC...they abandon they're children every few years when they stop winning. then they suck off the SEC again and a new favorite son is born.
  15. i told you guys a few weeks ago he makes his predictions on emotion, not fact...here's a fact--for some reason he has a bone to pick with the Cornhuskers and their fans. here's some emotion--forgive him Lord for he knows not what he does. And forgive us of the carnage we reap when we crush, son, crush.
  16. man our lineman are HUGE!!! suh looks like an Ice Cream Truck.
  17. more turnovers in our favor. last year we +/- 0. and stopping the other teams big plays. NO MORE BIG PLAYS FOR TDS!!
  18. i like the fact he gave it to us for one simple reason: because we have been there for 45 years straight. enough said.
  19. NO, NO, NO....you guys are missing his point. by seasoned he means, you know, like a steak...he has been fresh meat for defenses across the country and has been tenderized by NFL DE's like Carriker and Moore. seasoned by grass and blood as he looks up to the sky from his back. kind of like Lowry's SeasonAll. only his is AllSeason Losery.
  20. good thoughts. i was thinking the same thing. i would hate for him to get frustrated at seeing the field as a true freshman, then being in a backlog at a postition he was switched to at end of a season....he needs to be on the field somewhere.
  21. do you guys remember the post that i started a couple weeks ago asking if it was just us, or do other teams' fans' REALLY have optimism before the season starts or are they just delusional if everyone knows they're team sucks but them??? well, this finally answers my question...they are delusional. btw--i think it's hilarious that he call's his school tISU-- the iowa state univ...hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
  22. it's gotta be colorado. it's closest to Nebraska, it's right down the interstate, we own the buffs, i see so much Husker gear out here it's not even funny. i was working out at my the gym the other day and this really old lady was taking the tour to maybe join. and she came over and talked to me for 25 minutes about being from Nebraska and how she just loves it out here ever since her husband died and she moved to denver because she has met so many people from the Great State, and they're so easy to talk to cuz we all have the Cornhuskers in common. all because i was wearing my red hat with N. i have lived in Kansas, colorado and am from Nebraska. i lived in chicago for a 1.5 years and travel to NYC in the fall every year. i am also in dallas once a week almost and atlanta quite a bit. (i travel for work) the most Husker fans i see are in Colorado. but that's just my experience.
