  3. when you flush your toilet, after dropping a bomb...you must say 'see you in norman'
  4. focus daniel sen, focus. don't lose with the cornhuskers EVER.
  5. man, i remember josh davis returning kicks. he may not have broke one to the house very often, but he hit that hole so friggin hard defenders were scared to tackle him! but, then he fumbled in the rose bowl and got us off to a bad start, anyway--i think he holds the return yardage record. i think lucky could have been pretty decent back there, but obviously they have bigger plans for him.
  6. that's the problem!! we need MORE student seating. looking at the films of the other schools--it's apparent the most noise and chaos comes from the students. i have heard almost every year that more and more student section seats are being squeezed out. let the alumni and boosters sit in the cushy boxes and give more students seats, it's their turn at the college atmosphere anyway. we keep adding seats and fewer of them are going to students. (i'm not a student by the way)
  7. i live in denver. my younger bro lives in ft. collins. we are going, along with my dad and mom. my wife and sister-in-law are going. that makes 6. we have gone to the past 5 NU-cu games in boulder and lincoln. contrary to foppa's experience, we have always had a blast kicking their ass and watching them denegrate themselves. most of the time there are thousands of Husker fans around us anyway. and 10 Cornhuskers are as powerful as 15,000 cu fans from pebble anyway. just don't give money to the hippie bums on pearl street or you'll surely run out of gas money.
  8. i agree with huskerhank. sometimes, just sometimes, huskervision takes away the intensity because instead of doing chants; they do a profile on a local businessman or something. show replays and stuff to fire up the crowd. that should be the petition.
  9. we have the most academic all americans. they are a distant second, though. i think they're admission standards are tougher as are the requirements to reach certain degrees. my wife's friend went there and she got her masters and she said it was REALLY hard. however, i think the sciences and technology sectors at UNL are some industry leading. others can be more specific probably.
  10. we score first, yet go in at halftime down. great defense and a quick offense keep them off balance and the game close. we pick off a late pass and drive for the winning score. NU 24 USC 21 turnovers, turnovers, turnovers...
  11. yeah, i think one or two more years of BC getting college experience back and better and better players, he will be just as good or better than ol' Pete. this year, they have more talent in most positions. talent wins game, but NEVER underestimate a an unfenced yard and a hungry dog!! let's hope for the upset.
  12. it's not a personal attack at all. it's just a different attitude. a couple of the long time fans on this board have a little bit of a condescending attitude towards those of us who just happen to be born after them; but are no less allegiant to N. i got on this board cuz i AGREE with about 90% of what everyone has to say. especially the...'huskers' part! i didn't mean you guys were whiners, i was referring to allbuffs.com and ksu sights i have been to. all they do is bitch and complain. i hope we win so we can all celebrate together. i would gladly buy the first and second rounds!! i guess i throw out ideas i have that i believe give us a chance to win. so i just don't want to be told any kind of what i think is optimism is "rose-colored-glasses-wishful-thinking-i'll-understand-someday-when-im-older" reproach. anyway....
  13. i seriously am not really upset or trying to start a fight with anyone. i respect that fact that you guys have been around the program for a long time. that doesn't mean you know something more than what we 'younger' fans do not know. i went to my first game when i was 5 months old. do not remember much of it, actually nothing. but i have been a fan ever since. that puts me at 29.5 years out of 30 years possible as a Cornhusker. i have parents, friends, uncles, players, coaches, and secretaries on my list of people who are or were IN the program. please don't disrepect our optimism by calling it rose colored glasses. i know it's a long shot to beat them, but i'm going to try to figure out a way i think it could happen. if people want to make unrealistic, insane predictions and expectations, just let them. i could deal with that a lot better than a bunch of whiny pusses who think everything Husker is bleak.
  14. by the way my prediction is 24-21 GO BIG RED!
  15. wow, after doling out the grades i thought his prediction was going to be more like...35-21 or something! he is crazy to think they will score 40! the only thing i disagree with besides the score is the rating for our linebackers and WR's. i would say B+ for both. i mean, all of our backers are seniors and we have the same wideout group for about 3 years now. if we keep it close and get a couple turnovers we will win. it's all about turnovers for this game.
  16. i thought of a new one: joe dailey against southern mississippi fourth and six=out of bounds.
  17. i want N to win it, but i voted seriously and i voted for OU. if anyone wins it besides us it better be BIG12 and better be someone i hate. gawd, i f'ing hate OU.
  18. all i'm saying about payton manning is that, starting with us, he had never won a championship DESPITE setting records and being the number one pick. we friggin pipelined them that year and he had been known as the QB with all the talent and no rings since then, until the super bowl this year, obviously. i think our 97 team is underrated because of all the hype michigan and payton were getting. (and yes, i'm misspelling his name on purpose)
  19. chris brown CU--didn't he run for six(6) touchdowns against us?
  20. i agree with a lot of people have something to prove. however, keller will have the ball in his hands every play. i seriously think he could be a tremendous player next year and ruud knows how to get it done and i see him stepping into a senior role (and i agree Mckeon!!) will bring a REAL fire back to the blackshirts.... i guess the biggest breakout performance i would like to see is from Cosgrove and Callahan. call a college game from start to finish, make adjustments every game and during games, and go for the FU#*ING JUGGULAR!!
  21. absolut friggin :asshat 's!!!! i bet kirk put this together just to piss us off. the SCOTT FROST team was pretty damn good. not ton's and ton's of talent but we freaking STEAM rolled people that year. it took payton manning 10 years to shake off that beating and finally win a championship.
  22. my guy to watch is sam keller. the running game will be improved, the o-line will be too. i think he has a HUGE chip on his shoulder after ASU blew it. he wants to go pro and this is his last season to prove it. just watch! all of taylor's single season records are going bye-bye! on defense, i think ruud will finally earn some of the sometimes generous hype he gets. a new position and senior leadership--i think he plays huge!
  23. i know where you CAN'T find one.....k-state.
  24. bowman is our best WHEN HE COMES BACK. you can't teach speed or height. he will be hungry and ready to prove himself. the answer to all our problems? hardly. a great addition to depth and pure atheleticsm? yes. any time you can get your best players on the field, DO IT! and that includes moving players around. look at a guy like bobby newcombe. he played about 6 postitons while he was here. BJAX returned kicks last year!! grant wistrom was on kick coverage as a junior!! simply put, get the play makers on the field...if bowman can play he will, and he will make a difference.
