Does anyone here teach in Nebraska? Needing help navigating the state site and getting answers. If you'd prefer to PM so you don't out your profession on the board, that's cool.
I dunno...maybe it's just me, but it's kind of a cluster**** process for new teachers to get certified in the state...

It's extremely non-user friendly. Someone at the state needs to take a web development course or at least hire a process management specialist, because it's all messed up.
My question is really...how the heck we can get someone to help out with processing a request. The site says 4-6 weeks, but we see all these reports of teacher shortages, sub shortages, etc. Is there any way to expedite or at least work with a living, breathing human on the phone to help iron out issues/answer questions?
As it stands now, we put in Sunday PM a request and still have yet to hear back from the state for assistance.

For anyone looking for Husker gear, Homefield Apparel is dropping Nebraska stuff tomorrow. Their stuff is incredibly comfortable and well made. They have a tendency to drop some really cool items so I'm sure it'll be a big hit.

I'm digging this throwback t-shirt to the 70/71 NCs:

The Ulty family is moving back to Lincoln this summer. What are some of the best and worst changes to have occurred in Lincoln over the past 10 years?
-
Funny, our family is moving to Lincoln this summer too!
From visiting, the Haymarket and South Lincoln have been the best change. Lots of places to eat, shop, and do stuff in. Much more so than the 90s when I was up there for school. Also, the proliferation of microbreweries in Lincoln makes for a much more lively and spread out Friday and Saturday night. The Lincoln (and Omaha) Farmers' Markets on Saturdays are hands down better than anything in North Texass.
Also, it's not Lincoln, but Ashland has some cool stuff and is quickly becoming the next development hotspot for folks that are okay commuting to Lincoln/Omaha. Wouldn't be shocked to see them blow up in the next 5-10 years.
Worst change--Dunkin' Donuts has sprouted up everywhere and is running off the mom and pop donut shops. They're like a cancer--a tasty, jelly-filled cancer.
That, and Shakers is now demolished.

How many of you no longer mask up? As of the other day, in Omaha, I have stopped masking up. Most of my students are no longer masking either.

Has anyone ever caught a hot dog from Der Viener Schlinger?

So proud of our own Zach Taylor’s Cincinnati Bengals! They advance in the football playoffs!’

Jordan Larsen to Texass as a Volleyball coach? What in the actual f***?!!?
-
@ColoradoHusk I get that she needs a paycheck and a gig.
But damn...couldn't she have found a landing spot with another program that's not diametrically opposed to our existence as a program?

YouTube TV dropped all of the Disney channels because of the ongoing negotiations/carrier dispute.
Sling TV has their first month for $10 and has most of the lost channels, sports-wise. Good alternative to tide you over until Disney and YTTV come to an agreement.
And no, HULU TV isn’t a good alternative, plus why reward Disney and Comcast? At least YTTV is giving folks a credit while this issue persists…

So Bert got a (road) win against a Top 10 team his first year. There’s no way you can tell me Illinois is better in Bert’s first year than we were in Scott’s first, second, third, or fourth year.

@GSGI said the exact same thing myself watching those OTs.
Also, swapping end zones during OTs was a beating. Would much rather have the old OT back. Or after the second OT, make it sudden death rules, a la the NFL.

Just watched Frost's presser for Fordham where he keeps saying we can't survive penalties/dumb plays, and to a certain extent that is true; but if his offense knew how to consistently put up points some of that former would be a moot point.
-
I couldn't settle on a number for a Youth Soccer Goalie jersey (scarlet and cream colored) for our team, so I went with #79.
-
@GSGno, but I've been coaching a very successful one for four years now. I needed to order a communal goalie jersey (an in-case scenario) and I went with the number of one of the best defenders of all time.

Wonder Woman 1984 coming to HBOMax on December 25th. I'd be excited if HBOMax wasn't a steaming pile of **** streaming service right now.
-
No 4K, no HDR, no Dolby Atmos, app is janky on Apple TV (constant crashing/issues with watching/favoriting movies). Also, HBOMax isn't available on Roku devices...because...reasons.
The HBOMax app has been out for a while now. Disney+ was able to have 4K, HDR, and Dolby Atmos support from the jump, we're still waiting for HBOMax to get with the program. Hell, they haven't even updated their roadmap since launch--makes me wonder if this is a last-ditch effort for the service to remain viable.

Purdue coach with covid? f#&%KKKK
-
@HuskerInLostWages to be fair, the Purdue coach could have gotten it from making out with the AFLAC duck.

OSU opens...-26

First team to forfeit the rest of the season because of "Covid concerns". OU or UT?
-
@Toe T. Boones Farms Pickens' money is helping keep Okie Lite in the conversation. But they're due to stumble once or twice before the year is out, so hopefully we don't have to deal with their craptacular program becoming 'nationally relevant' for too much longer.

How is it possible that in 2020 you can still end up with a tie game...in football..

Sweet baby Jesus tap dancing on a ************* cracker, nabbing one XBox Series X presale was hard enough. Nabbing another one for my brother who is a teacher...I think I wore out my mouse getting the second system.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I have almost zero interest in a winter football season.
