I respect your opinion, but I disagree with the bolded statement above. Just curious if you've seen any of Turner's film yet? He's also a standout basketball player who averages 18 pts. per game. The kid is the epitome of an athlete. That is quite fair. I will rephrase it. I don't think that turner will depend on his running ability quite like previous qb's, both because of his passing ability and the system that he will be playing in. I do, however, think he is comparable athletically, but perhaps not in running prowess (Crouch and Lord were just ridiculous). Time will tell. Running in high school and running in college are two different things, but I am excited for Turner (provided he signs ). oh, I have seen his film.

I like how, at the end of the article, it says that later comes the list that "really counts." It's nice to know that none of the lists actually "count."

This a valid point, but the problem lies in "throw some weight on him." I'm not sure he has the body type to gain the weight required to play d-end. Although, if he could put on 20-30 pounds he would be a formidable speed rusher. Isn't depth awesome? Having log jams at positions is such a wonderful problem.

rumor is baker switches to OT and meredith moves to DT. therefore Ankrah starts at DE There isn't any basis for this rumor. The coaches gave baker the option of playing offensive or defensive line. He chose to play on the d-line. He has played at that position for two years, and will be the starter this year. Why would he switch now? He would be learning a completely different position. Besides the fact that we have depth at the o-line now, and he would be 5 steps behind on the learning curve compared to players in his class. Meredith is settling in very nicely at the d-end spot. Expect He, Pierre Allen, and Ankrah to all contribute this year. This kind of depth is a wonderful thing and does not necessitate position changes.

And Zac, even with his ginormous confidence issues, is still head and shoulders above any QB we have on our roster. That is why we need a true and legit QB prospect as well rather than an athlete who hopes to learn the position in their time here on campus. Remember, we may take two QBs in this class, so we may also go after a more traditional QB. Could Turner project as a safety or is he set on QB?

Not a chance. He is not the type to be scared by competition.

Not to rain on your parade, but..... Prince was all Big XII. He will be the best player in the defensive backfield for us, if not the whole Big XII. Moving possibly our best defensive player next year to offense make absolutely no sense. Reed has a huge future at tight end, and we have a surplus of linebackers in his class. He has two seasons at tight end under his belt. It would be straight silly to move him now. Baker is a defensive lineman. Please accept it people. That is where he wants to be, that is where the coaches want him, and he will be a starter next year. It would take a year, if not more, on the bench before he could contribute on the o-line. Moving from the d-line to the o-line is a HUGE change. Just because they are both lines does not mean you can transition easily. That would be a career killer. I won't even respond to the last suggestion.
