  1. I was in section 131...just left of the band. Me too. Row Z.
  2. "It's one of those deals where because of a technicality in the system, the Gator Bowl can't make it official that Nebraska's going to Jacksonville. The Gator Bowl has to await until a BCS conference call early tomorrow afternoon and for Nebraska to be released as a team not in the BCS equation. But after just talking to Gator Bowl president Rick Catlett, it seems no doubt the Huskers are the Gator's choice. The announcement of the Huskers in the game is hoped to come either tomorrow or early Wednesday. The opponent will either be Florida State or Clemson. “If you’re not excited about what Bo Pelini’s done with that program, you’re not a true Nebraska fan,” said Catlett, who attended NU’s 40-31 win over Colorado on Friday. “We felt it. We saw it. We’re excited about having them there. When we signed up with the Big 12, we wanted to have the ability to bring Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska to our game. And we’ve gotten it with this game. We’re ecstatic with the possibility to make Nebraska a selection.” http://journalstar.com/blog/huskers.php?ti...p;tb=1&pb=1
  3. I've never been big into the talent excuse myself. We do have talent, and there is no denying that. However if you look across the board at every position, FSU's speed could run circles around us. This is really why the spread offense came into being to neutralize the speed of the D. In all reality, Nebraska has Big 10 speed. Florida State has USC speed. We could beat them because I think they're poorly coached. However, their crazy fast speed could make things extremely difficult for us. Wrong on so many counts... I live in Florida an have watched quite a few F$U games. FSU doesn't have a tremendous speed advantage. That's another myth I'd love to die, the "southern speed" crap. Do you think Wake Forest, Boston College and Georgia Tech out "speeded" F$U???
  4. It's because KU hasn't beaten a team with a winning record...
  5. KU hasn't beaten a team with a winning record...
  6. By including Louisiana-Lafeyette, Rivals is saying that there won't be enough SEC teams eligible to fill their slots.
  7. i'd say that its more likely that the writer hasnt seen us play after the MU game and is just guessing. if we have earned a win this year its against a KSU team that we blasted last year Doesn't the KSU game worry you? It just seems like a team that we are over looking. Don't have a good feel for that game, even though I have said we will beat then on other posts. KSU has to much of a spoiler roll in that one. I still think we should win it, just not as easy as we all seem to think, if the Huskers aren't on top of their game. GBR!!! Not really. I mean I am somewhat concerned with all of the games.... but just because fans are overlooking them doesnt mean the team is. He also picked us to go 7-5 at the beginning of the season, with a win over VT. Basically, he hasn't changed his prediction at all.
  8. Nebraska (3-3) at Iowa State (2-4), 12:30 EST Why to watch: It’s do-or-die time for two teams that came into the season thinking bowl game and are now looking just to turn things around. Nebraska appeared to be on the verge of a huge win for the Bo Pelini era in last week’s showdown at Texas Tech, but despite a great comeback, the team suffered a tough 37-31 loss as Joe Ganz got picked off when he was simply trying to throw the ball away. While Baylor is better, the Huskers have to look to this week and next week’s game against the Bears as a chance to go on a little run before dealing with Oklahoma and Kansas. On the other side, Iowa State had suffered two heartbreakers with an overtime loss to UNLV and a second-half collapse against Kansas, and then came the real stunner with a lifeless 38-10 loss at Baylor. On a four-game losing streak, and with a tough stretch of three road games in four weeks coming in November, the Cyclones have to beat the Huskers to have any hopes of a 13th game. Why Nebraska might win: Ganz should be able to pick apart the Cyclone secondary. Gene Chizik lets his defensive backs hang, and despite a decent pass rush, the production hasn’t been there against efficient passing teams. Nebraska should be able to run the ball if it wants to, but it’ll have the most success when Ganz is able to get into a rhythm and start throwing, like he did late in the game against Texas Tech. Why Iowa State might win: The Nebraska defense has decided to go bye-bye. After doing a decent job against the non-BCS teams, the Huskers struggled to stop a mediocre Virginia Tech offense and was ripped up by Missouri and Texas Tech. There’s no shame in having problems against the Tigers and Red Raiders, but the defense really isn’t playing all that well. Iowa State has to come out hot like it was in the first half against Kansas. The Cyclones don’t have a high-octane passing game, but it can be effective in spurts. Who to watch: With running quarterback Phillip Bates leaving the team, it’ll be up to the running backs to start to pick up the slack. That didn’t happen last week against Baylor as Alexander Robinson ran for a mere 32 yards on nine carries and J.J. Bass finished with 36 yards on six carries. The Cyclones got behind and had to start chucking, but they have to establish the ground attack early on. What will happen: Iowa State will play well, but Nebraska’s offense will light up when needed in the second half and Austen Arnaud and the Cyclone passing game won’t be able to answer. CFN Prediction: Nebraska 34 … Iowa State 24 … Line: Nebraska -6.5
  9. Mimai didn't break any records, didn't kill every team, as a matter of fact they should have lost to Syracuse. You don't judge the greatest college teams by the number of NFL players they produce! thta is why the NU haters put Miami on top. I don't think they beat 2004 USC at all. Best team by far was 1995 NU, beat 4 teams that finished in top 10 all by double digits! Averaged 50 plus points a games while smashing 8-9 man fronts. That is the most dominant team ever! If folks know you are gonna run and you do and they can't stop it, that is TOTAL dominance! if you are going to do that just look at all of the great NFL players on that 94 Miami team prepticket.com is a glorified blog...
  10. I've got FSN HD here in Florida on Verizon FiOS, and it looks great. Not as pixelated as normal Fox football, but not as sharp as ESPN.
  11. Yeah, and Mark May and Robert Smith said Oregon State couldn't go toe to toe and run the ball against USC... Oops.....
  12. FYI: Mandel picked us to win 31-22 http://fannation.com/college_pickem/stewarts_picks
  13. That's still last week's poll.
  14. Pelini even said that the first drive they were using formations that they had never seen. After the first drive, they got the photos from upstairs, made adjustments, and the rest is history...
  15. Journal-World reporter Robert Riley was walking down Massachusetts Avenue Monday afternoon asking respondents their opinion about the Jayhawks' loss at South Florida three days prior. Riley originally planned to pose a question about the stock market collapse, but that produced little passion among respondents. So the football question was asked, first to a normal-looking college student who was waiting for a couple of his friends to leave a store. Here's the way Riley relayed the conversation to Keegan. Riley: "Has the KU football team's recent loss shaken your faith in the team?" Student: "I sure hope not." Riley: "Why's that?" Student: "I'm on the team." Riley: "What position do you play?" Student: "I'm the quarterback." It turns out that Riley was asking the questions of Reesing, who ended up as the first answer in Riley's column on Tuesday morning. http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2008/sep/17/k...ery_man/?sports
  16. And if those officials knew what holding was, KU loses that game by 10+.
  17. I'm not responding to your picture, saunders, I just love, love, LOVE your signature. I want to taste your tears Jayhawk fans. I want to taste their salty goodness. Oh, the tears of unfathomable sadness! Yesss. YESSS! I did it because he won't. Told me he had "no respect" or some crap. Whatever, be a man.
  18. For those that watched the PPV of the New Mexico State game... Quentin Castille Darren McFadden
  19. Do whatever Bo did last year when VT played LSU. I think it was 45-7, and VT was better last year.
  20. And when they lose??? So much for booking that one, I wonder if you watched that game? He'll talk trash, but won't man up and put the signature in.
  21. The KU tackles were holding all night long, it was pretty ridiculous.
