Well your mistaken if you think turning around a small program isn't beneficial to his coaching stock. He will raise more eyes turning around Buffalo then being a OC at NU. The question always arises about coordinators "Their not proven" "no HC experience" "can they handle the day to day ops the position requires" The Urban Meyer's (from the MAC)Paul Johnson's, Brian Kelly's, Jim Leavitt's, Gary Pinkel's (also from the MAC)have all turned around poor to mediocre programs and in Urbans and Pinkels case have moved on to bigger and better things, and they did it as HC's not OC's. And if TO had the opportunity he should have selected one of the above. Also according to ESPN Gill may already be considering the WA St. job True and they didn't coach at Buffalol to get promoted. Gill needs another job before he gets a D1 solid job. So my point was is it to be a OC at NU or would you go to another program for 3-5 years and try it that way? You can get their either way but not directly from Buffalo. Being a MAC coach is a great gig but it means another 3-5 years and he hasn't been offered those jobs anyway! If he is offered Wazzu he should take it. And, FYI most D1 head coaches (about 78%) were coordinators before they were hired or NFL coaches, not Head coaches elsewhere.

Because the local papers aren't telling them that. Most of the BC fans from the begining of the year were only repeating what they read in the papers and heard from other fans. That is why most of the rhetoric was all the same inaccurate info. I think NU fans were told the wrong info and they bought into it. Not blaming them, but if they took a step back and looked at it from a little further distance they would have felt differently earlier.

if you understood human nature, which you obviously don't, you would realize that sometimes it isn't about the money. he's building a program at buffalo. it's not much, but it's more that what was there. and he is appreciated back there, too. does gill strike you as the type who would drop everything for a fat wad of twenties? that his loyalty extends as far as his next paycheck? if gill comes back, it's because he's needed. and TO has asked him to comeback. that said, i don't think gill will be back because TO respects turner too much to ask him to drop his own projects just to become an assistant. I didn't say it was about the money. What I said was he is making peanuts so he wouldn't stay for the money. There isn't any. And his goal isn't to coach Buffalo, he goal is to stay at Buffalo long enough to get a better job and their is nothing wrong with that. He won't be at Buffalo any longer anyway. He is gone from Buffalo and TO is offering him a faster way to a great HC job or he might get a good offer elsewhere but unlikely.

TO just didn't want to hear about them until after the season. Also, he said that after the KS game the writing was on the wall and it was time to make a change somewhere. And then after CU he decided tha BC needed to be fired. SO it appears he did have some thoughts prior to the end of the season. Your quote needs to be ammended.

This is confirmed. But I didn't pat myself on the back for Pelini as HC. It was actually for talking the 500 NU fans of a bridge when they were going to kill themselves for their very uninformed ideas on football when they praised BC and Co. for months and months all the while questioning those who KNEW he was a worthless piece of garbage. These fans didn't want to face the fact they really don't know how to think on their own b/c they don't understand the real fundementals of football or coaching. I am proud to have saved the lives of 500 basement dwellers because above all else they are Husker fans so I consider them family. Hopefully someday they will grow up enough to direct their hate towards OU or CU fans and not others on this board.

It is kinda funny to me that before anyone knew what was going on I stated that Pud would be fired, TO as interim AD and Pelini as HC. That was before there was even a press conference announced that PUD was going to be fired. Short memories ladies. I also came back on here and said I was wrong and TO was telling the truth when he said he wasn't going to do anyting and he passed the responsibilities to others to look for a coach. Well it says Gill will be here unless by some miracle he gets a great HC offer in the next week which is very unlikely. And Stoops is almost certainly coming. If UofA loses, which they most likely will then he will be here. These are both not obsolutes but they are not open ended either.

Yes, two people that are Head Coaches, are now going to come to Nebraska to take lesser jobs. Makes sense to me Nebraska went from no one wanted to coach here to where they all want to coach and don't care if they are Head Coach. If you understood coaching, which you obviously don't, you would realize that Gill makes chicken feed at a small school and probably needs to go to another small school (like the mac or conference usa) for 3-5 years making a few more peanuts before he even gets considered for a top head job. At NU he will make more money and if he is successful in the next 2-3 years he will be at a top school even better that he would by staying a head coach. Second, Stoops also will make a lot as a DC at NU. His bas salary is again small for a D1 school and he isn't having much success. He will be out of a second chance if he waits to long to start over. He won't take a pay cut and it is obvious he won't be able to win at UofA. Time will tell. But you are mistaken if you think being a HC at a D2 school is better than a OC at NU. And Stoops will be out of a job next year anyway.

It is for a fact that Bo Pelini accepted the NU job around 7 pm Lincoln time. He will coach his last game at LSU tomorrow and be on the job full time come Monday.

Bo Pelini will coach his last game at LSU tomorrow and will announce at a press conference the next days that he will not be coaching the bowl game. He will start Monday as the new coach. Confirming what ESPN said. Not sure when ESPN said this but I got a call at 8:50 Lincoln time.

Similar to what I heard this week and I posted on another thread. I was told that the group of people who want Callahan gone are getting over ruled by TO. He said to them he does not want to fire him mid-season if he can avoid it. Source also said that Cally has dug his heels in the sand about the buyout and other coaches are taking a more active role in the team and recruiting. The buyout is STILL being negotiated. Also, the 2 weeks statement I said if we are embarrassed and I am impressed that we played well. TO is firm on 2 things: We are underdogs here on out so there isn't much to gain now at firing Cally. AND Cally is fired immediately after the season (already decided) and he wants Bo Pelini as his first choice with Watson to stay on board. I am not sure if anything else will happen the rest of the year but it appears that TO has said let's evaluate the players and assistants outside of the line coaches and Cosgrove. Not much info, but TO has calmed the boosters who initially wanted PUD and Cally gone 2 weeks ago.

You finally get the irony. The point of the name is that everyone bleeds red so EVERYONE in the world should be an NU fan. It is bred into us...get it. That was the point...sharp as a basketball aren't ya. Anyway, the only info I had a little early was about Kuli but it didn't seem relevant to post a few hours early. The meetings with boosters happened this past weekend and their are some splits on how to handle Cally especially since he and Co are being tough about the buyouts (which makes sense for them). TO said he won't fire him until after the season and others are still working on the resignation agreement they intially talked to Cally about. Cally is going back on it a bit which is really a $$ negotiation. And FYI, this isn't my info so I will not gloat if it is correct, nor will I hang my head if it's wrong. I praised Huskerboard and others for their info and never said yeah to me.......except for those people who slammed me when I said Cally sucked. That is the only I told you so, which they said "we will see". That is in the past anyway. Anyone who knows me realizes that I am only looking for NU to get back to glory. Nothing on this board is to boost my ego...an anonymous site isn't the place for that. There are a lot of members on here who personally emailed me asking for info and then they slam me here. It seems like they are using this board to boost their egos. I am told, no news until Saturday afternoon. Everything has been status quo for the last 4 days.

I thought if we were lucky we would have 9 wins but probably finish 8-4 and not win the BIG 12 north. I thought Mizzou would win the north and KS would finish tied for 2nd with us. I never expected much more than mediocrity with Cally as our coach. Well, I was wrong....we are plain awful and it is 100% Cally's fault. My signature has been the same all year, I haven't changed my opinion at all.

I apologize if this info is already on the board. I didn't look. I got a call around 2:00 central time with this info. I didn't realize so many people would want a PM so I am posting here instead. The only info that my source can confirm today is that there are 3 coaching candidates that are being researched and the "feelers are being put out to the appropriate channels". Theses 3 coaches are being researched, reviewed, talked to and then they will assess to interview: Bo Pelini (already talked to) Jim Leavitt USFl Gary Patterson TCU It doesn't mean they aren't interested in others or will hire one of these 3. This is just confirmation that they have interest in these 3 officially off the record...whatever that means.

I will have news tomorrow. I have only gotten some cryptic info but there will be some changes "definitely before the end of the year, and they are trying to do it VERY soon" whatever that means, but I will give more details tomorrow. I think a MOD should lock this since the thread really has no value. I got everyones PM and I don't need to be called a crybaby any longer. I get it already, thank you.

I will make sure to update anyone who wants the info. I talked to my friend and he said that a phone call was planned later today and that a meeting was planned tomorrow. I will NOT speculate on what but I will tell those of you who want to know all about it. The reason I am mad is because there are people who spent the last 2 months telling me my thoughts, ideas, dislike for Callahan and the direction of the program were unfounded and the insulted me with personal attacks when I was careful not to name call anyone. These same people think I am trying to get credit and praise for this info and they question my source and insult my playing career. I offered this info on Huskerboard.com because I like most of the people here and I have already talked to a bar about renting out their patio for the spring game to say hi to members here. I am not posting or giving my feedback because for no reason I am constantly attacked and I consider this info 'good stuff' that shouldn't be treated like $hit. I am not catching feelings or a wuss, rather I am asking for respect from people who have been dead a$$ wrong all year and insulted me in the process.
