  1. Totally agree...Nebraska doesn't have bad facilities. Its a great setting and atmosphere. Does it need upgrade? Yea, its probably time but a lot of people are mistaking that for bad...that couldn't be further from the truth. Nebraska has a great set up and doesn't look like a multipurpose room like some of the newer ones. Im not saying we don't need to upgrade but facility talk always implies that what you have is bad. Frost said this at media days. Theres a fine line between talking about the future facilities to give to recruits and talking as if what you have is bad which recruits could believe as well if you talk too much about upgrades. When Nebraska does a project they do it right and will make it one of the best again but as it stands now its still a great facility set up
  2. I agree. No matter what has happened in the past or sick we are to see us right now it’s time for everyone to just start getting behind Frost and the program again because that’s what’s best for the team and really all we can do on our part. It’s easy to compare iowa and Wisconsin to Nebraska’s blueprint but I feel Wisconsin is closer to it than iowa. I just feel iowa is the type of team that upholds the big ten reputation and blueprint within the conference and nationally. They have a great fan base, always will be tough to beat on the road or just period but something is just missing when it goes to anything beyond being a solid big ten team. Wisconsin is everything I just described with iowa but with a little more firepower or something I’m not sure what it is. so while I would take Iowa’s blueprint I feel Wisconsin is what we should be striving for as far as results and expectations. Compete in the big ten first but have the expectations to compete beyond the big ten. Not be satisfied with 8-4 and always have an eye on the national scene something I don’t think iowa does or expects to do really. Not trying to knock them just explaining what I see in the difference between iowa and Wisconsin
  3. Article said it had nothing to do with mistreatment of student athletes. He had a great career. To me it sounds like this wasn’t anything of cheating or mistreatment
  4. Whether youre a golf fan or not Husker fans have a guy to follow this week with former Husker golfer Brady Schnell in the field.
  5. This is a killer loss if he indeed does leave. May not seem like it but this really stings
  6. I hope the walk on program is strong again and not to be negative but I just don’t see it being what it was. Back when college wasn’t so expensive Walking on at Nebraska had value that was higher than accepting a scholarship at NDSU. Now you can’t argue that. If you think of it as the money you’re paying and the value you’re getting than it’s tough for kids to accept a walk on spot at Nebraska.
  7. The idea of getting the roster to huge sizes again with every team captain from small town America on the squad is not the answer. Just get the best in state players and as many as you can to walk on instead of going to NDSU for example and be happy with that. It won’t be what it used to be! NEBRASKA IS 20k a year in state and ALMOST 40k out of state!!! The Dakota schools and Wyoming while nothing close to Nebraska have some value to them now because of that.
  8. I think first thing they’re looking at is obviously what they’re doing now, what it realistically could be and how could they make it better...if they truly believe they can get it back to what it was with huge numbers roster wise like the 90s then title IX would come into play as far as numbers. It’s not just scholarship but number of female and male athletes total. They would have to think of a women’s sport to add or force women’s programs to add walk ons themselves. You may see other men’s sports force to reduce numbers but that’s aboit it. It would be a really bad deal if they cut a men’s program for a reason like this but that’s probably not even in their thinking because it would be a really bad look in the eyes of the big ten and even our state. I think simply the cost of college nowadays vs then is just going to make it very hard to make the walk on program what it was however it can still be great and I believe frost will make it great again. It doesn’t need to be 200 people to be great just keep the good talent in the state home.
  9. Ha...I guess after reading it does sound like that but just was kind of surprised on the opinions of his show
  10. I can’t believe how many people say they dislike bahes show. I know a lot of people who love his show so while this is a small sample it’s still surprising. There are times his takes are so good that I wish the AD or head coach could here what he has to say. He really understands the landscape of Nebraska and college athletics. Same with Damon Benning. Damon understands things that many of us don’t always think about when it comes to a college program. I also think Bahe is really funny at times but I like when he’s serious too. I only listen to 1620 so as far as the afternoon guys I think they’re great when they’re serious and on topic. Every so often I have to turn them off because they get so obnoxious but overall great listen.
  11. I love nick bahe...great insight. Sharp and Benning I like too. Unsportsmanlike conduct is for the most part good sometimes obnoxious but I’ll always listen when I can. The bottom line is good too with most of the segments
  12. Frost is going to get all the baby stuff taken care of and will be our head coach by the new year
  13. I would love to have him come back to Nebraska and coach someday. Get a few more years under his belt and I think he could be a great coach to have around here. Qbs, o coordinator after a while. He's got a lot of great coaching qualities and I'm sure is being groomed heavily by Mike Sherman his father in law
  14. I will eat crow as well. I was feeling sorry for this kid because how hard a decision it was and in way just because of his age I still don't blame him but his support staff and himself need a reality check bc the way they handled all this is a fast track to nowhere and total cowardness. This has nothing to do with the fact that he didn't pick Nebraska
  15. I'm sure JC is going crazy right now but I think he's going to Wazzu unfortunately. This is a blow by the way but nothing against our coaches. We really wanted him and Nebraska is an unbelievable place to play football but I just have a feeling he didn't like Lincoln that's why it's hard to say no. I also think his uncles and mom want him to be the star somewhere and for some reason they think Nebraska isn't the place...maybe bc Tyjon Lindsey? I don't know but he could be here too most definitely. I'm sure it's hard for him I just hope he's getting advice with his best interest in mind
