  1. Im pretty sure that the only reason a second was added was so we didnt have to hear mac crying again talking to reporters after the game kinda like last years a&m game, pretty sure I saw his eyes watering as he held that finger up begging for a second to be put back on. I personally had a figer pointed right back at him. And an interesting side note.... do you think your head queer, i mean hearder of steers is still begging for a playoff now that he whornes are in the NCG..... its just being on both sides of the ball so I would drop this conversation, go post it on the longhorns message board, complain about our hickness or how all we do is harvest corn, granted a longhorn isnt any more superior than a cornhusker, sorry we dont have the numerous boosters throwing money towards the program (or officials), instead all our accomplishments have been built of tradition and hard work, but dont bother us over here with that sh#t. We were respectful and gave you props now dont beat a dead cow.... thats our job on our board. one last thing
  2. Network Television Executive: "They're going to boycott the game in Nebraska" Advertising Executive: "What's Nebraska?" Network Television Executive: "They're going to boycott the game in Nebraska" Advertising Executive: "What's Nebraska?" Network Television Executive: "The Big 12 north team that actually made it to the championship game"
  3. 100% agree. I am rooting for Texas in the NC game. When did we become such sore losers as a fan base? If the roles were reversed, who would the majority of Texas fans be rooting for? You're saying that if we would have won Saturday night and destroyed their hopes for a chance at the National Title that they would have rooted for us to win the Fiesta bowl? After their inability to get to the game last year? Forgive me if I'm skeptical. You are forgiven. My point was what if we were headed to the NC game to play Alabama? I don't think Texas fans would be rooting for an Alabama victory. would they root for us even if we got the extra second ...... sorry just had to add that.
  4. completely agree here. This has been the story all year...look back to va tech. I mean if we get a td in either one of these games were winning it. Obviously our offense has major work to do and hopefully for our sake they will. But we still lost the game and honestly we shot ourself in the foot on that final drive Texas took the lead. With that said I'm just glad we are back to the point where in these big games we are being heartbroken rather than blown out. Sooner than later that'll change and we will be winning these games. Hopefully we do well against arizona and get suh a heisman. GBR!!!!
  5. Nebraska just made sport centers not top 10 for their false start against colorado, where it was called for everyone except the center.
  6. Its amazing to see fro once Mizzou finally pulled out a win against a team that went 0-7 to finish out the season, nice of you to come back. And dont be upset that we had an amazing 4th quarter comeback, sorry our punch to mizzou fans guts was stronger than those weatherspoon tries to give out during the game
  7. Are you kidding me.... because the 8th ranked team is so much better than the 9th ranked team.....especailly with biased rankings towards the SEC teams, for example youd be perfectly fine if Nebraska was ranked 9th behind 3 SEC teams....you would honestly say they dont deserve to be in the playoff especially if they were 10-2 losing in a conference championship game..... Ill call bullsh#t on that one. this is crazy, a 9th ranked NU does not stand a chance to win it, so no i would not care. are you saying that you are fine with a 3rd loss NU? and i do not even know what spankytoes is talking about, i think he is thinking of a 4 team playoff. everyone needs to take a logic class and understand that your arguments against a playoff system are the same arguments, but much stronger, against the BCS. if 9 feels like they get left out, who cares, there are 8 spots to play into and you did not make it. if 3 feels left out, as they often do now, they may be just as deserving or more deserving than 1-2. the season is too long to allow one loss to ruin it for a team. the top 8 teams are there for various reasons...SOS, finishing strong, going undefeated, and they deserve a playoff. the 8th team may or not be so much better than the 9th team, but the 3rd team is so much better than the 2nd team??? spankytoes says, you lose you pay the consequences, well i say 'you win, why should you still pay the consequences.' the regular season would be more exciting because a team would not be out of the race because of one early loss, or just one loss. and you keep talking about undefeated teams, what about when 5-6 teams all have one loss. like OU loses to TTU, TTU loses to UT, and UT loses to OU...? the top two teams is a much more contentious argument then the top 8 teams, especially when, for all practical matters, only the top 4-5 teams really have a chance. No i was speaking theoretically and I agree with you and knapplc that there needs to be an improvement but not a playoff more so a +1 system for those teams remaining undefeated after their BCS games
  8. 9. what's the incentive now? in a playoff, the perennial powerhouses could lose one or two games and still end up in the top 8 and allowed to play in a playoff. i really do not know what your post was an argument for or against... but that is my thought. So your gonna say that the 10th ranked team is less deserving than the 8th ranked team, or lets look at it this way, Ohio State is ranked 8th and lost to the 18th ranked team in the nation and plays in the BIG 10 which would be less competitive than the BIG 12 , however LSU who lost to very tough SEC teams and the fluke against Ole Miss would miss your playoffs because they arent ranked in the top 8. You see your always going to have teams complaining because after the top 3 or 4 your gonna have teams that are sitting at home with equal records, so a playoff solves nothing. What you should have is a playoff from the BCS bowls the winners of each continue on, so the winner of the rose bowl play the fiesta bowl and the orange and sugar play, then work your way down from there or if teams are left undefeated have a playoff with them at the end of the year.
  10. My question is why was Hawkins doing that anyway? What did he prove? NOTHING, instead he showed that he is a d-bag that has little to no regard for his player, or ours. There is no lost honor in taking a knee, in fact I would call it losing with dignity. It was impossible to win at that point, and our D had shut down. IMO it shows that Hawkins is reckless, just look at what he did to his son early on in the season, kept him in when you could tell he was hurt. Way to go Dan, you proved your an A-hole.... didn't know callahan had a account on huskerboard.
  11. Honestly since the Oklahoma game our defense has been playing sluggish. I thought kansas was just a hangover but then came kstate and now Colorado the defense hasn't been as sharp as it was at the oklahoma game. We were flyin to the qb and all the tackles were being made. Now were not rushing and missing tackles. We gotta put more pressure on McCoy and make tackles on Shipley downfield. Hopefully we will turn around soon. I'd like to see us knock off Texas.
  12. Colt mcqueer should learn how to take a hit and quit sliding.
  13. I thought the game was great. I got in a nice long nap while they were trying to play a game of football. Really that had to be the most boring game I ever saw. When I wasn't napping that is . you were napping? how were you aware it was boring? you should watch Notre Dame, great offense, can't win a game though, but great offense. Anyone can have a great offense when you play teams they did, sh#t i wish we could hand pick our schedule with middle of the road pac 10 and big 10 teams, yet it takes 59 minutes to win the game.
  14. depends on what you consider walking distance but this link should help http://www.hotelplanner.com/Hotels/42180-N...las-Cowboys-NFL
  15. Talking about the noise level....I think 98 Texas, I remember that happening a few times with Major Applewhite and Im sure Mac probably cried a few times also. I miss those late 90's early 2000 games.
  16. This is a typical texas response, unintelligent and biased to the extreme. I grew up in texas as a husker fan so I got my fair share of sh#t, and I always tried to defend the skers however the texas fans were so un educated therew as no point in trying to argue they would just try and bring it back to the Longhorns and how great they are, which alot of the guys werent even associated to the team in anyway, just started liking them around 1999 or so. I dont understand how you can all of a sudden like a team, unless..... your a bandwagon fan, which is what the state is full off. Its funny to see how many of those burnt orange f**s became rader fans last year and then aggies when they occasionally would do well. Its just weird when you actually have a team that you follow day in day out, no matter how much sh#t you take for it.
  17. Pretty sure we had our fumbling problems in 99, most in school history and can remember Dan Alexander fumbling on the 3 against Texas, ruined our shot at a national title.
  18. Now thats a bit unfair to say that ou lost the game instead of us winning, I mean their turnovers were forced. They werent like the iowa state game where receivers are fumbling running into the endzone. The fieldgoals yes he missed them, but we put them in the long range situations and the crowd volume im sure helped. Thats what homefield advantage does, granted our offensive didnt do much to win it, our defense won it for us. I think if our defense didnt play the way we did, oklahoma would have won. It has been a long time since db and safties are flying to the ball and making open field tackles, props are deserved for sure to the blackshirts.
  19. The thing that worries me about this win, is I dont think people realize that our team still has some huge issues. Honestly if it wasnt for our defense stepping up and finally producing turnovers, which had be lacking all year and now allows us to call the defense great, we would have lost this game. Our offense was still ineffective, those that say Helu played great I would have to disagree other than the long run for about sixty yards we had no production. This starts with the offensive line, and I dont think that is a hangover from call-a-crap, I blame cotton. I wasnt impressed in 2002-2003, nor am I now. I dont understand how in the 9th game of the year you still have false starts and are getting blown off the line. People say that Green and Lee played like crap, well they didnt have enough time to set up and throw, the line was getting blown back and this was same for our rushing game. Its not the rb fault, those guys had to make 3 or 4 moves just to get back to the line of scrimage. Regardless we won an amazing game, however before we get to far ahead of ourselves, we still have alot of work to do before we play the likes of Texas or possibly USC or LSU in a bowl game. I dont doubt we can do it, but something has to change up front because thats were it begins.
  20. Vince go back to the meth and hookers and let the rest of us enjoy discussing football....
  21. 1. just incase no one has said this yet....under legal limit. 2. He handled the situation as a team leader, calling Bo right when it happened. For all those criticizing Bo look he handled the situation some may like it some may not but atleast he didnt half ass his punishment like Urban Meyer down at Florida suspending his linebacker for a half against Vanderbilt, a half are you kidding me! The gators are playing the worst team in the SEC and your gonna suspend him for a half, is he scared that Vandy could possibly ruin the perfect season. Or what about the situation up at Oregon, possibly reinstating the running back who ran more aggressive after the game than he did during the game, punching players from both teams as well as coaches that were trying to get him to settle down, then to finish it off, opposing fans. Yes, maybe Bo should be a little harsher, but give Suh the benefit of the doubt, the issue is over lets get back to supporting our huskers than instead of bashing them for every move made on and off the field. GBR
  22. Just a thought for all those out there Josh Heupel at Oklahoma... so it is possible
  23. Which was 48% of the time. The other 52% consisted of ten yard bounce passes....
  24. I was always under the impression that Lee was Bo's guys and that watson was open to Green. By the way Bo talked about him, he has praised him alot, while defending questions about his ability. I assumed all along Bo wants Lee to play.
