  1. f#&% BO PELINI!!! Thankfully that douche canoe had that meeting with players on his way out the door. Yeah, he had a record we all wish for now but I will never settle for having a classless SOB like that as our coach. NEVER! We should all be hoping for Mickey Joseph to get on a run with this team and that he becomes the next coach. That's all there should be until the end of the season. Alberts will continue to do the hire diligence but anyone else being named the coach before the end of the season isn't likely unless we lose the next few games. If MJ doesn't get the job, I'm not sure if I have a favorite. Matt Campbell is intriguing. It's up to Trev to get this right. If not, he will be latest Husker legend to come and go. SUPERBUNNY
  2. Urban Meyer is the last person that should be under consideration. Obviously, the guy has a tremendous resume. More than that though, the guy has been exposed as world class douche canoe. That is not ever something that Nebraska should settle for. I agree with those that say we need to let go of the past, I think that ended with Frost. Time to put a proper modern spin on Husker Football. There have been a lot of good candidates mentioned. First things first, let's give Mickey Joseph an opportunity to put his stamp on it over the next few months and how the team responds. Let's just please end this fascination with Urban Meyer. Heck, we could have just retained the last douche canoe we had as a coach, Pelini. GBR! Let's shock the world this weekend! SUPERBUNNY
  3. The second this team becomes bowl ineligible is the very second this staff needs to go. Bowl ineligible? I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. SUPERBUNNY
  4. Look at the difference between coaching styles here! On the Minnesota side you have a guy in Fleck who is fired up and has his guys ready to go. On the Nebraska side you have good ol' "Awww Shucks" Riley with no response to how this game has started. No emotion from coach and thus none from team. The Mike Riley era ends today. Lock Scott Frost down. This fanbase has given the program all the resources it needs. Time to get the hire right and make Big Red a contender in the Big 10. This year has been the worst in the last 50 years of Husker Football. SUPERBUNNY
  5. It's halftime and we are behind Northern Illinois 14-0. This is just scary. No disrespect to NIU, they are a quality mid-major team. The Huskers are in complete disarray in all phases for the second week in a row. So, we gave Riley a contract extension after Oregon last week? Makes no sense. The Huskers AD is in bad shape. Has all the resources it could ever need but is awful from the top down internally. What we took for granted for so long is no just killing us. I'm not jumping off the Husker boat. Will never happen. However, I'm very aware of where the life vests are located. Folks, it is time to bring Scott Frost back home. SUPERBUNNY
  6. 1. Until AA got injured and the offense started to struggle we had one of the best defenses in the country. Most of our problems on the defense can be attributed to poor offensive performance, (3 and outs, turnovers, and what not like I already said). 2. So now the staff liking him is a bad thing...? 3. We had one blowout loss this year, this is far from the norm and more of an outlier. You don't need "red glasses" to understand this, just a knowledge of statistics. 4. He didn't spit on the DC (I'm pretty sure it was Ron Brown that got hit and not Paps), he was speaking emphatically and some spittle came out. Are you telling me you've never had this happen? 5. You've already agreed that his staff loves him, but it will be hard to hire quality assistants because one time while yelling at a ref some spittle hit an assistant on accident? You are really stretching to find reasons to fire Bo, especially when there are plenty of reasons to want to do it. But NONE of them involve his character or how much he is liked by the staff/players. That sh#t you are just making up out of whole cloth. And comparing him to Callahan? Bahahahahahahaaha Bo, that you? You mad bro? Answers to your points: 1. Don't disagree that AA injury hurt. We gave up a record 408 in 3 quarters to Gordon. He'd have greased us for 600 had he continued. That's awful! That is not Nebraska football! 2. The staff SHOULD absolutely love him for not changing them. They've got the best job security around. It's stupid. 3. Yeah, we only had one blowout loss this year. I guess in that aspect you could say we've improved because we were getting used to 2-4 per year. They are all unacceptable. 4. I run a business and I would never think of treating my employees like that. You can get you point across and do it with class not spittle. See one Tom Osborne. He's an asshat! 5. It would be hard to hire other assistants with name recognition because he continuously acts like a raging lunatic on the sideline. Don't tell me you don't see that. You're brighter than that. It's not cool and it has come to the point where the Nebraska/Pelini union is a laughing stock. I never imagined a time where that would be the case. His character is 100% in question! It has been for several years. It was a little better this year but still not acceptable to this Husker fan. It is one of if not the main reason he is on the hot seat. It was uncomfortable the first couple years when he became HC. I thought he'd mature. Well, he hasn't. He proved that last year! Even though I agree that his recording being leaked was complete bullsh#t by those that leaked it that doesn't change the fact that it is out there. Take all of those things into consideration and I've had enough. IT IS TIME THAT BO KNOWS PINK SLIPS! I will be there next year and every year to support my beloved Huskers no matter who the coach is. No coach is going to keep me from cheering for the team, the players, and the university that I love. Not Callahan, not Pelini, not whomever is at the helm. Please read that post above two or three times before firing off another ridiculous post. SUPERBUNNY
  7. Change coodonators. We can probably get a good OC to come here. Defense hasn't been a huge issue, yes we've had bad games but that was mostly due to the offense turning the ball over and going 3 and out. Firing Bo will not magically fix our problems. Most of the complaints people have can be fixed by new coordinators. But if you want a man of character? That's Bo. He's proven it over and over. He might have a hot head, but you can't say the players and staff don't love him. He hasn't acted like an immature idiot in quite awhile (TAMU, and the hat swipe from last year at Iowa). Blowout losses suck. But they can be fixed. We just need time. And maybe new coordinators. Dude, you are too far gone! 1. Defense hasn't been a problem? Holy crap! Our defensive genius of a head coach has given up 50+ many times, 60 a couple times, and 70+ in his tenure. 2. Your damn right the staff loves him! Several of those guys should have been canned a while ago. $hit, they love him, make no mistake! This is their last stop on the way to FCS ball. 3. Blowout losses do suck, and do happen. And if it happened once in a while you can shake it off. It is routine now at Nebraska and expected by everyone except the fans looking through red glasses. 4. He acts like an idiot every week. Sometimes he does something extra special like a couple weeks ago when he spit on the DC. He doesn't represent N well. 5. Because of #4 it will become hard to hire quality assistants. There's the rub! Keep Bo and we've got as good as we are going to get. Bo's players do love him. That is the one positive in my book but it isn't enough for me any more. I will bleed red to the day I die and won't let a coach like Callahan or Bo make me quit loving my Huskers. I just wish for better. Unreal! SUPERBUNNY
  8. The same people that complain about Bo would have been screaming for Osborne's head in the 80s and early 90s. Do we need some changes? Sure. Let's get a new OC (one willing to bench TA). But we don't need a new HC. That's BS! Pelini has a huge image problem. What coordinator in their right mind wants to come work for that asshat? Second, what kid that is being recruited by Pelini and other wants to play for a guy that acts like he does? Yes, we need a new OC. We also need to quit giving up 50+ in big games. This isn't a small sample of work we can look at. We have 7 years of winning games we should and losing virtually all the games that are close or we are underdog. Keep Pelini and accept 9-4 with a long-term spiral downward. SUPERBUNNY What coordinator wants to play for a coach that sticks by them the way Bo does (to the point it angers the fan base)? What player wants to go to a school where the coach honors your scholarship even though you might never play again? Bo only has an image problem with some husker fans. His players love him. Recruits love him. Jesus... He got a kid from the SEC country to come to Nebraska and be one of the best RBs in school history. You are living in a fantasy world. And spiral downward? The worst we have ever finished is 4 losses. You have no evidence we will get worse. And you sir, are wearing the Red colored glasses. I respectfully disagree with most of your post. I do agree that you have to honor schollies. I know there are places that don't but that isn't cool. Yes, he got Abdullah to come to Lincoln. But overall the talent to be a contender isn't there. If it is there then the staff isn't developing it. Either way, that falls on the staff. Of course he is loyal to his staff. Most every coach is. I don't think Bo is any danger of having his staff raided. Thus, we keep getting same thing. If we keep Bo but demand staff changes what coaches will want to come here knowing how he operates(tirades, no class, spitting). Hey, I don't mind intensity. That's fine. Being out of control and acting like an immature idiot is another thing. IMHO, to turn things around we need to hire a man of character, someone that builds a staff with character, and start rebuilding Nebraska Football with the same morals that made it great to begin with. I've never complained about Pelini's record. It's the way we lose, the blowouts, and the way he acts. It's just not what Nebraska fans deserve. SUPERBUNNY
  9. The same people that complain about Bo would have been screaming for Osborne's head in the 80s and early 90s. Maybe, but do you know what the difference is? Conference championships Orange Bowls National Championship appearances Finishing the season ranked Beating top ranked teams Significantly lower number of national embarrassments ^^^^^^^THIS^^^^^!!!!!!
  10. Remember when Ferentz at Iowa was the hot property? They locked him down with a big contract and he has responded with a serious dose of mediocrity. Sound familiar? Bo knows mediocrity! SUPERBUNNY
  11. 12. Not only does Cowherd not think that the Nebraska position is that big of a deal anymore. Neither does almost all of the media. If we quit looking through our red colored glasses we will see the same thing. Now, I do think that can be changed but there will have to be changes made to get there. That starts at the top with someone that can move the needle on recruiting. From there the staff needs to be able to develop the players and get the maximum out of them. That isn't happening now. It's a fact and it hurts. I want Big Red back!!! This mediocre red stuff is for the birds. SUPERBUNNY
  13. What we learned today is that we will get exactly the same thing next year with the same coaching staff. It just depends if you are satisfied with Bo and band of clowns or not. Personally, the mediocrity is too much to continue. It's time for a change. I know Bo, we won't know what we have until you're gone. Thanks for everything. I wish him the best. It's time for someone that echoes the values and philosophy that this program was built on. Who is that guy? I certainly don't know. Only thing I know is Bo ain't it. SUPERBUNNY
  14. Pinkskirts! That's what the Pelini D should be called! SUPERBUNNY
  15. Of course Pelini should stay! Thank God for Pelini because he is a defensive genius. Without his superior skills a couple of these teams would have put a 100 on us. Pelini is the reason we limited Gordon to 408. Just remember what Bo said last year that we are lucky to have him as our coach and we won't have any idea what we missed out on until he is gone. How dare we even think of getting rid of him. I'm so sick of it! Bo don't know defense. Bo don't know classy! Bo don't know the Nebraska way! Bo KNOWS getting taken to the woodshed. He's a laughing stock around the country. Think about that. The coach of our beloved team is the laughing stock of college coaches. When will people stop being an apologist for this guy? He has to go! Who would we get? Let's start with somebody that I can be proud to call Nebraska's coach! That would be a great starting point. Things can be special at Nebraska again. Not going to happen with Pelini! He's had 7 years. We can either move on or have this same conversation again in a couple years. And please, I'm no daydreamer thinking we should win it all every year. Frankly, Pelini's record isn't bad. It's the blowout losses, the constant tirades, and it just isn't Big Red Football. Turn the page! SUPERBUNNY
  16. Remember when Bo was on everyone's list for job openings? Me too! Wish he'd have taken one. We're stuck with him now.
  17. Remember when the crowd used to get fired up when the Blackshirts came on the field? Back when they didn't suck? Maybe let's just try and get our mojo back on defense and then we will be in the game to the end and all the rest of this BS takes care of itself. But, since Bo just got a slap on the ass from Eichorst so that isn't happening for a while. Beer is the answer! The only answer!
  18. That's the other thing isn't it? I'd have to imagine this guys seat is hotter than Pelini's!
  19. After a good nights rest my conclusion is the same as when I started the thread. When talking to my kids I could always point to Osborne and Solich as men of character. Now, I can't say anything but the opposite about Pelini. That just isn't Husker football in my eyes. I want a program led by a man that I can be proud of. After that press conference can any of us think that there is any interest on Pelini's part to change? Does the AD handcuff him with a zero-tolerance policy? Does the AD follow through when he does it again? It's just too awkward. I wanted things to work out with Pelini. Loved it when they hired him. Gave him a pass for a couple years as he adjusted to being a Head Coach. Twelve strikes and you're out. Sad that I feel that way but he has to sleep in the bed he made. I would wish him the best. Hope that he gets some counseling. Ugh.
  20. Just waiting for the press conference announcement. Time to change.
  21. Not sure about that last sentence. After the last few years I'm not so sure that he is that strong of a D coordinator. Bohl has done a great job in a number of fronts at NDSU. Obviously he has put a tremendous product on the field. What has impressed me is how he and AD have really gotten the entire state behind them. They have a "Nebraska Like" fanbase at the FBS level. Where did that come from? Yep, from his time at Lincoln. He gets it. He understands and embraces the traditions. I would not be opposed to this hire. He has some skeletons in his closet from his time in Lincoln but that was quite a while ago. Bo makes him look like a choir boy.
  22. I'm the guy that started this thread and did it out of my love for Big Red football and the university as a whole. Many have ripped me for it as I expected. We are all frustrated with the way things are going. We can agree on that. Please don't question my love for the program. For me, this isn't about whether we won the game today, last week, or any others. It's about the direction of the program and I just don't believe Pelini represents either the program or the university in a satisfactory manner. I've felt that way for a while. That incident on the sideline was just the final straw. I love the Big Red football for its tradition of being a program run the right way, the class with which everything is done, the way the fans conduct themselves, and the fact that it has earned a reputation as a great place for college football. Bo Pelini has only tarnished the image that the program and the school have spent decades building. That should be very troublesome to all of us. I admire his fire and passion but time and time again he has crossed the line into poor sportsmanship. There are many documented cases of it but today was the last straw for me. It's more than wins and losses for me. It's about being a program that I can be proud of. I will always pull hard for the players and the school. I can't be excited about Pelini as the coach anymore.
