    stuff

I was in Las Vegas last weekend before the Mizzou game. I was sitting at a table with a man from Oakland and he asked me where i was from. I told him Nebraska and he burst out laughing. I thought he was laughing because he figured i was some sort of hick, but he was laughing because we hired Callahan. He said he was the worse thing to ever happen to raider football, and that he was a terrible coach. It was said i was hoping Nebraska would prove him wrong that night and beat up on Mizzou, but the man just proved himself right.

    no good

By Brett Edgerton, ESPN.com Lincoln police have put out an APB on the Nebraska defense. The suspects, known to have worn black shirts in the past, have not been seen on a consistent basis since at least 1999. And those who have met them say there is nothing to worry about, calling the group not only harmless, but actually quite accommodating. Reports say that if you throw something at them and/or run, they won't lay a hand on you. On Saturday, the Ball State offense rolled up 610 yards, including 422 in the air in a 41-40 Nebraska escape. Combine that with a 49-31 home loss to USC, and you have got opponents scoring 40-plus on the Cornhuskers in back-to-back games for the first time since 1945. That is 89 points and 1,067 yards given up by Nebraska over the past two weeks. Throw in a game at Wake Forest, and you end up with 737 opponent yards on the ground over the past three weeks, an average of 245.7. Rather harmless indeed. Our D is an embarrassment.
  3. Ditto. I don't like booing, except maybe at horrible officiating. But, there was no way around it today. The booing wasn't at the players, it was at the coaches. We husker fans are very knowledgeable (well most are), so if we boo, there's a damn good reason for it. And the reason today, and last week, was horrible defensive play... due to horrible defensive coaching. Have any of you actually seen Cosgrove's teams' defensive rankings from Wisconsin to NU? Here they are. Took over DC at wisconsin 1999 15th 2000 79th 2001 58th 2002 56th 2003 43rd Took over DC at Nebraska (NU was ranked 13th nationally the year before) 2004 56th 2005 26th 2006 56th He is destroying the defense... why in the world should we not boo him? Fire Coz&Co.! Coz's DC track record proves he can't coach DI football. If you really want to feel like crap look up Bo Pelini's defense's rankings while he has been DC.

    Why

Why Is Callahan trying to run Nebraska Football like a pro team? We never go full pads (except for fall camp and one day this week.) When T.O., Solich, and Bob were here we had full pad practice mon-wed Wednesday was the hardest practice with two hours of first team D vs. first team O. Now we go half pads with first team D and first team O going against a scout team. I think it really shows on the feild that there is a huge lack of contact in our practices. Why is Coz still here? He has proven himself time and time again that he is not a good college coach. Look at what he did in Wisconsin.......nothing. He had terrible D's there and he has terrible D's here with much better players. If you look at his defensive schemes it reminds me of what you would see in a high school football game. Its like he is not even trying, thats why after one quarter the opposing team has our D figured out and can move the ball all over us.
  5. I know that this is wishful thinking and won’t happen, but if we fire Steve Peterson we might be able to get Bo Pelini to come back to Nebraska. He is one of the best coaches in the nation. In his 4 years at LSU he has only had one game where the opposing team has scored 30+. With that type of defense you hardly need an offense. Bo Pelini is dying to get a head coaching job at a big time program. Nebraska needs to act before its to late. Sadly I know this will never happen its just a wish.
