  1. Quick question: Is this game PPV? Because I'm getting it on Direct TV for free. The Mizzou game is scheduled right afterward, and I'm wondering if I'll be able to watch it for free also Huskers look good, by the way.
  2. as per usual, you're dead wrong. bo isn't bullying anyone or throwing a fit and he's not going to ditch principles for expediency. he's building a culture and he's not playing games with kids. i think it's amazing that anyone can question the simple expectation that commits must act committed or they will no longer be considered commits. of course, you seem to constantly be touting whatever line puts the coaching staff in the worst light, so i have to wonder if you're just trolling anyway. and for what it's worth, i would guess that we would continue recruiting commits that start taking other visits as long as they were up front and honest about questioning their decision. jerking the coaches around, like lil' gabby apparently did, is a far different thing and will obviously not be tolerated. the callahan era is over, we will no longer get kids here by any means necessary and just assume they'll work hard for the coaches when they get here. if nothing else, bo is helping these kids understand that your word matters. the fact that it will help us build a winning culture is a side benefit. Lets me get this straight. So, 17-year-old kids who are trying to make perhaps the most important decision of their lives are "jerking around" coaches like Pelini, a seasoned professional who pulls in $1.8 million a year. OK ... who is the adult here?
  3. Jeepdad . . . you haven't been seen around here since the Missouri-Nebraska game. It's curious that you show up now that Missouri is "tearing it up" in recruiting. Perhaps you didn't want to eat the crow being served? I think you were fairly confident of a MU victory back in October. Better luck next year. Maybe you should read the whole article. Bo is saying don't commit until you are ready. Once you commit, you are COMMITTED. In your analogy, he's saying don't buy the car from me until you know you know it's the one you want. Shop around all you want . . . just don't say you are buying from me unless you are actually buying from me. Hopefully the recruits have better reading comprehension than yourself. (Or maybe you never bothered to read the article.) Mizzou is tearing it up in recruting? Who knew ...
  4. Sounds like Bo has an ego problem. Sorry, but the "you're either with us or against us" approach may be good for the Husker faithful to hear, but I'm not sure it's a winner with recruits. Someone earlier used the salesman analogy. If I'm buying a new car, and I strike a good deal with Dealership X and feel like I'm ready to sign on the dotted line, but mention I'd first like to take one more visit to the dealership across town -- that first dealer better not say, "F U, we don't want you anyway. Take your business somewhere else." Bottom line: If you have a winning product, you shouldnt be afraid to let customers shop around. They'll come back to you in the end.
  5. Can someone please IM me a stream link? I appreciate any help.
  6. Who are the announcers? The number 2 guy won't shut up.
  7. Thank you to those who responded to my request. I truly appreciate it.
  8. If someone could please PM me with a stream link, I'd appreciate it.
  9. Sat next to some Husker fans in the north end zone bleachers and everyone got along spendidly. I've done my share of trash talking here before the game, mostly in good fun. But just let me say "Congrats" on the win. It's extremely disappointing as a Tiger fan, and made me question whether taking the day off work and standing in soaked shoes for three hours was worth it ... but all in all it was a decent game and an experience I will always remember. I was pleasantly surprised by the Mizzou defense which played well despite the flourish in the 4th quarter, which effectively took the air out of their sails. Your defense appears to be all it was hyped to be and will continue to be a force in Big 12 play. It's hard to tell what's in store for Mizzou going forward. The rainstorm and Gabbert's injury (which I didn't know about until I got home and watched the replay) make it hard to measure exactly where we stand. Sloppy play all around. But the Huskers appear to be back. Also, for the most parts the posts on Tigerboard have been gracious and complimentary. As a regular there, it's appreciated. Good luck from here on out. - Barry
  10. All trash-talking aside for a moment. I did some work at a former employer regarding HIPAA laws, which govern what types of information can be shared and how regarding injuries and illnesses. This is from HIPAA regarding the subject: For coaches and other school administrators, an authorization would need to be provided before this information could be shared. Another concern is on-field evaluations information. Can this be shared with the necessary parties? The answer, it seems, is that these evaluations would fall under the category of emergency evaluations, for which prior authorization is unnecessary. Finally, regarding the sharing of information with the media, this issue is clear-cut. Under HIPAA, personal health information can be provided to sports information staff or the media only with authorization from the athlete (Magee et al., 2003). My point is there may be a reason why Bo is being coy about potential flu rumors and names of players -- for now.
  11. Exactly the kind of arrogant attitude that Mizzou fans allude to. Nub fans are literally "too good" to care about meaningless little trophies or rivalries.
  12. Here is a complete list for you of major bowl game wins, conference championships and National Titles won by Mizzou football in the last 40 years: 1. ___________________ . Any questions? Crap, my browser isn't working...can't see what's on the line next to #1. Well, allow me to be of service, my good sir. Next to the #1 there is nothing listed. Nothing at all. It's a blank line. And that's because our good friends down south-away haven't won squat by way of major bowl wins, conference titles and/or national titles. In 40 years. And yet the mouths run and run and run from some fans. You'd think they'd take some clue from the classier guys like Fro, but no. It's all good, though. We're well on our way to stealing Fro from those potzers and making him really truly a Husker fan. Once again, Husker fans step into the time machine to help justify the general suckiness of their team. While you bask in the glory years, the Tigers will once again be taking the Nubs to the woodshed on national TV. And once again, Husker Nation will be collectively jumping off rooftops and wondering what the hell went wrong. 41-21 Mizzou.
