A lot of important developments.  We got a new coach post-Pelini, you may have heard of him - Scott Frost.  He coached UCF to an undefeated season 2 years after UCF had a winless season. Tonight is his first game as Nebraska's HC and thunderstorms are expected.  That's it for important developments.

  2. Hooray!  I remembered my login:thumbs

  3. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Also I have an idea in my head to show her the Facebook page once she is old enough to appreciate it to show her how many people took the time to pray for her. If you don't mind the occasional updates go on and like her page.
  4. What I am about to post is mot BS , but I didn't know where else to post this. Huskerboard, it's been a long time since I've posted, but my wife and I need prayers.Last Thursday my wife had to have an emergency C-section and our daughter, Hadassah Leigh was born at 26 weeks weighing only 2 lbs. She has been doing well but we are calling on every one we can think of for prayers of deliverance for our child as well as strength for her mother and I. Hadassah
  5. I laughed at the corn helmet. Don't mind the jersey style but was all the black neccessary? Would like them if they were red and white
  6. Thank you whoever found this site There is so much funny stuff there!
  7. The way its looking is they won't have to trade up to get him, if you're investing in the future why not have Peyton there to give advice to Luck.
  8. You would think a group of fans, that went through four years of hell after firing a 9 win coach would learn their lesson.

Whoa man, you asking me to think? That ain't happening.

  9. I can't believe this is even a serious topic. I thought I would research the last 4 (successful) coaches in their first four years. I also thought it would be relevent to look at the teams they took over. Bob Devany took over a team that was 3-6-1 first 4 years record 38-6 .863 Ranked teams played 6 record against ranked opp. 2-4 took 8 years to win a NC Tom Osborne took over a team that was 9-2-1 first 4 years record 37- 10-2 .755 Raked teams played 17 Record against ranked opp. 9-8 took 21 years to win an NC Frank Solich took over a team that was 13-0 first 4 years record 42-9 .807 Ranked teams played 18 Record against ranked opp. 10-8 Bo Pelini (assuming two wins in last two games) took over a team that was 5-7 first 4 years record 39-15 .750 Ranked teams played 16 Record against ranked opp. 7-9 So staked up agianst the others, I don't think Bo looks that bad. He does not have the best record aginst ranked opp. but has kept up with the pace of about 9-10 wins per seaon. I will also note that of the five NC won, the coach was not in his frist four years to expect more of Bo than the others produced is just silly.
  10. I should be quoting this in the board feedback forum because it is the strongest arguement I've ever heard to bring back negative rep. Why would someone want to fire a successful coach to hire one that has been unsuccessful. Bo is winning games, I hope this talk ends soon, otherwise I see history repeating itself.
  11. I'm sad to say that I must pull my hat out of the ring. A combination of itchy and a convincing girlfriend has lead me to shave.
  12. I think you're a decade and a half off with this post, once OU decided they had become our yearly doormat and decided to end our Traditional series that determined more National Championships than any other rivalry over the last 40 years...........that hollow feeling has hung around for a LONG time. No one gets up for OU lite since Barry Sanders. Sure Bill Snyder punked Solich but the yearly KSU game meaning much to anyone North of Pawnee City or Wymore Nebraska is ridiculous. Colorado was pretty much it for the Huskers and I would trade them for Michigan, PSU, tOSU and even lowly Iowa which is basically a wash. The Hollow feeling is watching boring games, getting beat by Northwestern due to horrible coaching, getting smoked by Wisconsin.....sigh....and having your destiny decided by MSU???? It's year 4 in the Pelini era and we have terrible coaching including obvious recruiting flaws, game management ( timeouts used up by defense, end of Northwestern game???) Not getting Backups in in garbage time, no depth or lack of playing certain people due to vendettas, buddy hires gone wrong (also known as Cosgrovean Cottonism) and playing like crap over the last 2 years against arguably the easiest schedules in YEARS. When Wisconsin and MSU are the biggest games of the year you know you have a NC schedule on your hands. We tried as hard as we could to let a dysfunctional PSU beat us, a decent team would have hung a half a hundred on them last week and emptied the bench after the turmoil they went through. We canned Callahan after 4 years, our 3 million dollar man better step up to the plate SOON. Remember that Callahan was playing KU,Missou, Leached TT's teams that were battling for BCS bowls not to mention strong Texas/Sooners/USC teams. At least we saw talent being recruited Horrible coaching?? 9-10-10 wins a season is a country mile away from "horrible coaching". We're at 8 - 2 now......I don't see anything even remotely close to Clownahan results from our coaches. I don't even want to know what you're smoking that makes you think Bo & Clownahan are in the same boat. Also, let's not forget Bo took over a NU program that won "5" games it's last year and was 10,000 galaxies away from Devaney's 72 Huskers. TO took over a brand new Maserati & Bo a used Pinto. TO got time to win big and so will Bo. GBR!! Its not those easy 9-10-10 wins against terrible opponents that make him a horrible coach, its the losses against terrible opponents. You seem to base coaching on win percentages only, I look at the losses, quality of recruiting, game management, strength training and respectability of the program. 9-10 wins with our schedules is a no brainer, we have had that many gimmes each of Pelinis years. You don't see anything remotely close to Callahan in Pelini and thats fair, I don't either. Callahan played the likes of a cheating USC coming off multiple National Championships, KUs going to BCS bowls, a booger eater Missou, lets just say the "5 win" Big XII North was 10,000 galaxies ahead of last years Big XII north where we struggled into OT with Iowa State. The Texas debacle of last year mixed with the Barely Bowl eligible Washington, this years -.500 Northwestern, the Iowa States and struggling with Div II patsies looks exactly like Callahan Teams. I would even say the putrid Cosgrove Defenses would match up well with this years Pelini stocked defense. If Bo got a used Pinto than Callahan received a brand new Gremlin. Callahan was left Joe Dailey and Pelini got Joe Ganz, N'Suh and the rest. Im not saying the Callahan years were good at all with the Cosgrove defense, but I don't see anything remotely promising these days either. Next years defense? Yikes There is no such thing as an easy 10 win season. Even Osborne had some crappy losses at the start of his career namely a losses to unranked mizzou and unranked wisconson in 74. The fact is Bo is turning the program around. I'm sure that really gets under your skin your username alone indicates that you are bitter about something.
  13. I was afraid somebody would see that. Before I found Christ, Iwas a thief I stole this shirt from a locker at the Oklahoma open wrestling tourny.
  14. And I'll just save everyone the trouble of the look-a-like. kansas husker woolly willy
  15. Walterfootball is a good site but they always project way to far ahead.
  16. Why would the coaches change what they do, coach talk is a part of strategy, just so the fans can set expectations? If the Huskers win, I'm happy. If they don't, I'm not happy. Regardless of what my expectations were.
