  1. Herbstreet on ESPN Radio says Peterson is an offensive stud ...T_O_B
  2. First Pederson and then Callahan. They just never got it. The first time my son and I were able to walk onto the field at Memorial Stadium, see the championship stones along the tunnel walk, and see all the memoribilia in the west stadium is one of our most cherished times together. PUD and Cally just never got it. ...T_O_B
  3. You can go fetch your own damn slippers from now on Sincerely, Your Dog My wife won't left me have one. That sounds like something a Big 10 guy would say!!! Do yourself a favor...go out, buy yourself a puppy, name it Bill Callahan...then kick it. You'll feel lots better. Thanks Cy, I needed a little pick me up today.
  4. During a discussion on Mike Turico's Show it was mentioned that the Patriots not only have an incredibility good football team but their strength and conditioning coach is the best in the business. He's got six Super Bowl rings to prove it. Reminds me that for most of TO's coaching career he had the best in the business as his S & C coach, Boyd Epley. Coach Epley used to take kids from small towns and literally build them into great football players. This is a pivitol position in the Athletic Department and we need to make sure the right person is in that spot. ...T_O_B

  6. OLDMAN that's just plain stupid. You need a blood test to see if its still RED. ...T_O_B
  7. When coaches and players begin to talk about a football program as a business and about the way the team plays as the product they put on the field I begin to see why this team has at times been so lackluster. Yes when you strip everything away it is a business and the play on the field is the product of that business but to think of it in this way does a great dis-service to the program, the team and the fans. How many of you think of the Husker Football Program as a business? How many think of the Husker Team as a product? For me Husker Football (All college football for that matter) is about so much more. Its Lincoln filling up with fans of all ages on the Friday night before a game. Its the pep band playing fight songs in a jam packed Misty's the night before a game. Its parking lots filled with tailgaiters playing games, passing a football around, eating brats and chips and just generally having a great time. Its about the feeling you get in your stomach when the Tunnel Walk begins to play and 80,000 Red clad fans rise and begin to clap in unison and then begin to cheer, "GO BIG RED." Husker Football is about emotion, passion, tradition and the history of a glorious program that burns Red hot in the hearts hundreds of thousands of fans who are Husker Nation. To speak of this wonderful thing that we have in terms of "business" and "product" only emphsizes the fact that these coaches and to some extent this team just doesn't get it. ...T_O_B
  8. Sorry my friend, I've been a Raider fan since they were still in the AFL, probably before you were borm. Cally has screwed 2 (all) of my teams. There is no forgiving in my heart. I just want them gone. IT'S NOT PERSONAL, IT'S BUSINESS. If you don't get it , well I;m sorry. ...T_O_B
  9. Bye Bye, Kevin. Bye Bye, Bill. ...T_O_B
  10. Geez, I feel bad for your other sons! My family needs no sympathy from you. My son is my first, and only male child, and the first civilian clothing he wore way a Husker jersey that had been worn on the field during a game. My daughter wore the same jersey less than 18 hours after she was born and she will now be a freshman at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln next year. Living out of state costs us about $17,500. a year more than an in-state student but cost has never been a consideration, she is RED through and through. We don't need your sympathy, WE ARE HUSKER NATION!!! ...T_O_B
  11. Sorry, it's not a good comparison. These guys have been paid mega bucks to do a job, and they have totally failed. Worse, they have squandered the tradition of Husker football. A better analogy would be, if you destroyed a company because you were incompetent, would you expect to be treated kindly? :asshat Sorry man, I've always known when it was comming. The comparrison is that I never walked away with a buy out and never left a situation that was not better than when I took it. None of us understand the level that these people live in, my God, if we fire Callahan he will walk away with more money than most of us will make in a life time. ...T_O_B and we should STILL FEEL SORRY for him?? oh well, being in sales gives you a different perspective, i guess? although i used to be in sales, i got out of it for obvious reasons. I'm not saying we should feel sorry for these guys, maybe just try to understand their situation. My friend you never walk away from sales, if you can't sell yourself, then you never suceed at anything because you are constanyly being asked to sell your worth and value to your employeer. ...T_O_B

  13. This game has nothing to do with us, it has to do with Husker Football. We and this board, have very little to do with Ozzie's decision. My advice, your advice, almost any adice that doesn't come from Warren Buffet and, maybe 5 or 6 other backers meens nothing. Not a bad group to take advice from. ...T_O_B
  14. I was gonna say that. And why not? The guy's only got 25 years experience plus all kinds of wins and titles to his name. He'd probably be the most qualified available. Sorry man and I have loved this guy for 37 years. He's now an administrator and mentor. We need someone with fire in his belly and a lot of gas in his tank. ...T_O_B
  15. I'm a sales professional and have bounced from job to job for 25 years. I build territories for other guys mostly because some guy in the Accounting Dept. dedcides that the company can do well with some guy who takes over my spot for less money. I move on. Callahan and Company came here with the same attitude I did every time I moved on, build something that is totally kick a$$ and keep it rollin'. Doesn't always happen. We owe these guys more than we have been giving them and its all over a game. There are only 4 things I LOVE, My Wife, My First borm Son, My Daughter and Nebraska Football. We all need to realize that the couches that we are raking over the coals came here with high expectastions, unfortunately they were not up to the task. Applaud them when they leave the field just as we would an opponent who has either won or lost in "Our House." ...T_O_B
  16. If you want to critizise a guys attire go to the Tyra Banks site, if he was winning and wearing Bibs and Flannel shirts we'd all love him. Problem is he's not winning. ...T_O_B
  17. I see what you are saying. Let me throw something out there... The defense scores 2 TDs, causes fumbles, sacks, interceptions, great field position, etc, and carries the team to a 31-7 victory. Still thinking keep Cally and get a new DCoordinator? In this scenario, a punt return also goes to the house for a 50 yd score, while the offense puts up one touchdown and a field goal. The game is won convincingly. In a different scenario, the offense scores four TDs, a FG, and win 31-7. I personally would be happy with either scenario, however it would not fuzzy up my thinking. When the season is over, it's over and done. Either 6-6 or 5-7, bring in a new coaching staff and let's move on. Yup, ...T_O_B
  18. Cherry Creek Grill On East 26th 11:00 AM Friday, 23 NOV 07 Be there aloha!
  19. Ferentz isn't leaving Iowa. Gruden is too much of an NFL coach, NFL doesn't work in college, their game plans require an All American at every position. I mentioned Petrino a while back and got little response. With only a year in the NFL he hasn't had time to be spoiled yet, especially in Atlanta. ...T_O_B
  20. YES YES YES!!!! bring on paul johnson NO OMG HE BEAT NOTRE DAME! BEST COACH EVAR! if you can win at navy...you are a pretty good coach. he was a good coach long before he beat a terrible ND team. I'm not saying he is the man for our job, but he certainly needs to be on the list Absolutely
  21. A lot would depend on who he could get as a DC. It would have to be someone who is strong on experience and a proponent of stout defence with a lot of speed. Only problem being if you get someone like this you lose them after a coupl,e of years. ...T_O_B
