  1. This thread is slowly wasting my life away, Akita. Nobody thinks Akita is lying. It's the redundancy of the threads, pure and simple. If I really had it in for the guy, I would have locked THIS THREAD, too. Instead, I cleaned up the misspellings in the headline and some of the more egregious spelling errors in the text for him. Not exactly the kind of thing a jerky Mod would do, huh? not mad at you. here is your exact qoute. " You got slammed because you started a thread magino was in lincoln interviewing. When there was a thread already saying the same thing. nobody slammed you because you said watson was gone. everybody thought the ccg was the final nail in watsons coffin." Okay why did source in my 3rd or 4th sentence get slammed. And tell me in my thread where I said Magino was in lincoln interviewing??. Thats it not mad, just tell me where I said that and thats why I got slammed. I dont need a cookie or 15 minutes of fame.Trust me been there done that. Also sorry for my typing I barely graduated highschool and not trying to be a smart ass I really am not that educated.I just post for the Husker fans from what I hear, With strong connects. lets let it go
  2. I've got to admit, every time you post about the weather there in SoCal I am insanely jealous! Have always loved California. Have fun at the game! GBR Haha, sorry if I ever come across like I'm rubbing it in. If it makes you feel any better, it's about 55 and I'm freezing! ;-) It got to 63 degrees in Omaha today...now that is funny. Haha... My in-laws probably washed the cars, sunbathed. It's been cold here all day. Kick-off might be 48-50. FRIGID! Haha... Just a quick post... More than 90 minutes before kick-off people are slowly filling seats. More red than anything... Especially since the Washington purple blends in with Qualcomm's blue seats. ;-) There is even a healthy contingent of Husker fans on the Washington side of the stadium! REPRESENT GBR.

  4. At the stadium... Quite a bit of purple... But it's a RED parking lot. ;-)
  5. I'm sitting here, enjoying a cheesesteak with my son, on a beautiful (but cold) southern California day. We are about to leave to drive down to San Diego (we live in south Orange county) and I, too, am PUMPED for this game. GBR Holiday Bowl, rematch, etc. It still rocks I get to take my 7 year old to his first Husker game. :-)
  6. ..speaking of shoddy reporting... The band was going to go, but they were not going to fly out. They were going on a 28 hour bus ride. They got snowed in because of a blizzard. The high school band that was there was Lincoln Southeast, who paid their own way to the Holiday Bowl and were going to the game anyways. They didn't spend any extra time in San Diego than they would have, and the University didn't help them pay for anything. In fact, the University just went to them and asked them if they would play at some pep rallies and at the game in place of the Cornhusker Marching Band. Lincoln Southeast did so even at the expense of not doing some of the activities that they had planned. Of COURSE the Cornhusker Marching Band not going last year had to do with finances. The athletic department didn't want to pay to fly them out. The direct result of that decision was that the band got snowed in. Was it bad luck? Yes. But it was still a result of trying to save money. I don't blame the athletic department for trying to save money. The bowl system sucks, and these minor bowls don't pay enough money. This year the University is going to lose money, and part of that is because they're going to fly the band out, so they make sure they look less stupid than last year when a high school band had to step in. But if the bowl system didn't suck, they'd at least provide enough money to get the team, cheerleaders, and band out to the game. To add one more point... I recall it being not just that they were snowed in but that they were snowed in at their family's houses, all across Nebraska, Iowa, etc. They MIGHT have been able to get them out via bus but hardly anybody could make it back to the campus because of the blizzard.
  7. I'll be there! We'll all stick together in all kinds of weather. Though I suppose it will be pretty great weather in San Diego. But you know what I mean. How quickly we forget last year... It was cloudy all day, misted the entire first half, and we had light rain the entire second half. NOT bad by any stretch of the imagination... But sunny and warm it was not. :-) I didn't forget. I was there. But last year's forecast doesn't affect this year's. And this year it is supposed to be partly cloudy and high in the mid 60s (though it will get chilly by kickoff). That's what happening in San Diego, now here's what's happening in your neck of the woods.... Good one. ;-) I prefer Brick though, from Anchornan. "A cold front is moving into the upper middle east..."

  9. I looked at this website, and there are far more tickets available on the Washington side than the Nebraska side. I think many people are buying their tickets to the game through alternative sites other than the alumni source. In 2006-07, I bought my Cotton Bowl tickets from the stadium and not the University. I believe this is very true. The best tickets I could get through the school weren't even close to the seats I got through the Bowl website, for almost the same price.
  10. Not to hijack the thread... But "Yeah that". ;-)
  11. 1,502 miles... 23 hours, 37 minutes drive-time (and I've made the drive a maddening 13 times). See you in Lincoln!!
  12. This To be clear, the AP All-America list is different than the SI.com list. Crick did not make the AP list... Or am I wrong?
