So, Johnny Football just got kicked out of the CFL for violating the rules of his contract (therapists, bipolar meds, etc.). So now there's a chance he'll end up in the AAF, playing for Mike Riley.

No kidding, hope he thinks of this every time he goes to put a wad of chew in his mouth...

If you go back & watch Frost's press conference after the early signing day, someone asked him if there's any particular areas they wanted to focus on during the late recruiting period, and the first words out of his mouth were 'pass rushing OLB'. And then we ended up striking out on it. So I'd imagine it's still something that's an area of concern for him. I'm thinking that in spring camp, to at least some extent they'll be in 'throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks' mode, trying some guys from other positions at OLB and see how they do.

Right, in a 3-4 it's usually the OLBs bringing pressure. And, uhh, we kinda whiffed on pass rushing OLBs in this year's recruiting class...

Any prior connections to this staff? LJS's article noted that Moos's son Ben plays OLB for Cal, and from the sound of things, that's about the only connection.

@huskerfan333157 In the end, though, Callahan was Mr. 551. Yeah, there's a case to be made that he might've been OK if not for Cosgrove, but of course, he gets graded on what he did and not on what he could've done.

Exactly. We need a proven D-line coach, and frankly, Parella does not meet that description. I can understand feeling that deserves Parella a second chance to prove himself because he coached under Riley, but let that chance be elsewhere. Maybe someday, if he burnishes his resume elsewhere, he can return, but not today.
