  1. A team made up of SEC linemen once won the badmitton world championships against a dominant Korean squad? I hope the tone of this thread is obvious...
  2. I bet if we sewed an SEC patch on our jerseys we'd be in the top 12.
  3. I like that the "bloggalists" only defense of the SEC is the Clowney hit. If single highlight reel hits define a conferences dominance, than I offer this as my rebuttal. Kenny Bells hit v Wisconsin > Clowneys hit v Michigan = Kenny Bell is the Best Defense in College Football
  4. managed to avoid a hangover this morning! grabbing breakfast and then off to the game.

  5. I dont think I would otherwise, but seeing as I live in Orlando...
  6. As was mentioned above, Jamal went over to Borland to say something, so it did appear SOMEONE on the team cared about Martinez. And I dont believe the slam was that bad. Yes, it looked awful, but having watched it again a few times, I'm giving Borland a little slack. When Borland and Martinez came into contact with eachother, neither seemed to have enough momentum to move the other, resulting in the little spinning move they both did when Borland had wrapped up Taylor. When you have a guy wrapped, and you have no momentum to tackle, the only thing you can do is pick the other guy up (or sweep the leg?). The spinning they were doing probably caused the suplex. Or whatever, I dont know.
  7. would love to have you join us in Orlando. the Pour House makes a pretty decent Runza, if youre into that. Youre about an hour and 15 away via toll roads.
  8. Iowa is like the neighbor kid you had to go play with once and a while, just because you lived next door. You never really thought much of him. His house always smelled weird, and his mom made awful sandwiches. He always wanted to play Street Fighter 2, and he'd always pick Blanka. He'd just sit there the whole game and do the stupid electricity move. I hated that kid.
  9. Ive got a roommate who's whole family is Alabama fans. Im cheering against them just for the sake of pissing him off, like any good roommate would.
  10. pretty pumped on getting all of my manly duties down around the house yesterday/this morning, so the girl will let me watch football all day.

  11. took my florida born and raised girlfriend to her first ever college football game last weekend, Neb vs. PennSt. She loved it, but I realized I have alot of work to do in teaching her about football.

I take it as a blessing my girlfriends knows the gists of football lol. The only thing I have been trying to do, is convert her from a Hawkeye fan to a Husker fan lol.

How the hell does a Florida girl not like college football?

@woodyhayes, no matter where you go, there will be perfectly good woman who know nothing about football.

  12. i think we're turning "the" corner. i just feel like we're doing it like this...
  13. I get goose bumps everytime they fly over...It is the best part of the pregame in my opinion. I feel bad for the pilots doing the fly over if they are Husker Fans. They miss part of the game/lol Um... they are in freaking fighter jets. Id miss a NU game to fly one of those bad boys any day of the week! um every thing is exciting at first. Then it becomes standard. I amsure a few would miss the game to fly one. Problem is when you do it all the time has to get boring. As part of my job, I frequently HAVE TO ride roller coasters (im in no way comparing that to flying fighter jets, but you get the idea). However, I often miss Husker games because I have to work. I'd much rather watch the games. At some point, everything becomes a job.
  14. if only the team had a staff of folks with some football experience, whos job it was to evaluate talent and put the best combination of kids on the field at strategic intervals, in order to achieve desired results.
  15. You were tired of Pelini when he was a linebakers coach at GB?
  16. the real question is, if the shoe changes when you take a picture of it, how do they get the 'before' picture of the shoes? mind = blown.
  17. i dont consider myself a tradionalist. before the photos were released, i was in the camp of "well lets see what theyve come up with before i make a decision". that said, i dont like these uniforms. im not sure why, but i dont. i was scrolling through the "sacriligious uniform thread" the other day, and looking at all of our guesses and renderings. every now and then, id scroll over someones sig that had a current player in it, and i'd think "that uniform looks really good". so i suppose now im in the camp that believes we already had one of the best uniforms in college football. it would have been a miracle to A) come up with something better and B) get nebraska fans to believe it was better. is there a "if it aint broke..." camp? that said, its just one game, and im not even the one wearing it...
  18. I dont know about you folks, but my friends (and colleagues who are friends) are always the first to call "Bull$%*&" around me when they disaprove of an idea. Theyre also the first to offer differing opinions, and alternate views. I have to assume its the same with coaches. I'd be more concerned with guys Bo didnt know becoming Yes Men than guys he's familiar with.
  19. I had the honor of interacting briefly with Bo, his family, and members of the team in a non-football related setting recently. From my observations, I saw players who loved their coach, and a coach who loved his players. And it was pretty obvious.
