  1. The Texas A&M love is getting out of control. They were unable to beat CU and got raped by K-State with that same offense a year ago. Far too much credit is being given to them for putting up some big numbers in a rivalry game where they always play out of their arses. This same logic would suggest Colorado should be ranked in the top 25 because they played the Huskers tight last season.
  2. Quite frankly, I think it's a bigger deal if Bo Pelini wants you on his defense.
  3. I slept with a chick who's married to a former K-State Tailback..... while she was married. But in my defense she lied to me, said she was divorced. True story.
  4. 1. Texas 2. Kansas State - Sorry folks, but they WILL be better in Snyder's second season and Manhattan will be rocking on a Thursday night. 3. AtM - Aggies will be better in year three, similar to Callahan's year 3 IMO 4. Okie Light - still have some talent, but will be rebuilding 5. Mizzou 6. CU - game is always tough, no brainer 7. at ISU 8. KU 9. at Washington - sorry people, but no team with a Pro Style offense and a crappy defense is going to beat NU 10. Idaho 11. WKU 12. SDSU
  5. Daniel Manning was a Husker? Wow. Did not know that. Manning was going to be a Husker, but couldn't qualify. He would've been in the same backfield with Fabian Washington and the Bullocks twins.
  6. I guess I don't understand the question? Like what? If the Missouri River was the Atlantic, I would love to go to the beach, heck all the time. Would I miss a Husker game to go to the beach? Not at all. If the Sand Hills were the Rockies, and we could ski there, would I ski there a lot? Sure. But I could probably coordinate a trip to Mt. Thedford for January - March, heck, even Christmas time. Why would I have to miss a game. I live in Kansas City. I love the Royals. Would I miss a Husker home game, for a Royals game? Uhmmm... maybe if Hell froze over and the Royals were in the playoffs....Lol. Honestly, all things have to relative. If Omaha had 2 million inhabitants and an NFL team, the Huskers would still sell out. No doubt in my mind.
  7. Honestly, I would like to see us sign 2 QB's each season. If we ever want to be an elite team, we need ELITE play at the QB position. I think its safe to say we did not receive that level of play this season. I also believe teams don't need 5-Star QB's to receive Elite production from that position. That's pretty well documented. The gravitation towards more athletic QB's gives us some flexibility as well. Barry Switzer used to recruit 5 QBs per season with the sole intention of moving a couple of guys to other positions. I find it hard to believe that with 6 or maybe 7 QB's on the roster, we can't find a true winner, leader, and playmaker. 2 QB recruits per year means we'll have 8 quarterbacks on the team. What do we do with those other 7 QB's who aren't starting? There would be some pretty PO'ed players, and I think it would be hard to draw recruits knowing they have to compete with 7 other people for the starting role. Competition man. Seriously. You will have attrition everywhere, but cream rises to the top.

  9. I think if the Ohio State job ever opened up we could lose him. Otherwise, I don't see him leaving. Secondly, if he starts winning conference titles and we're competing for National Titles, I'm sure NU will pay him accordingly. Honestly, I'm happy NU isn't paying people more than they're worth.... aka KU, Mizzou, Texas Tech
  10. Born and raised in the Sandhills my friend. I will concur its great for the kids, but it's a poor solution for poor planning by the University. Everyone in Middle America knew a blizzard was coming more than a week out. The School should've had back up plans in place to overcome this issue. Giving these high schoolers a chance is definitely a cool thing for them. But the University severely dropped the ball on this issue. I know this is a silly hypothetical, but play along: Let's say NU is playing in the Rose Bowl for the BCS Title game next week. ALl things being hypothetically relative, a blizzard hits Nebraska this upcoming weekend, does NU not send a band to the National Title game? Perhaps I should've clarified. I'm happy for those kids, but I'm disapointed in the University's lack of planning. I think it's a poor reflection of the University of Nebraska and one of the most storied College football programs in America. Would Texas let the Austin Lake Travis Band play for them? Is Tuscaloosa Central going to play for Alabama? Would Ann Arbor High be playing Hail to the Victor? This is deeply depressing IMO.
  11. There is nothing cool about this. It is ridiculous actually.
  12. I usually spend a lot of time on opponent message boards prior to Husker Game day, and I can assure you the Arizona fans are some of the most delusional fans I've ever read. There is nothing wrong with thinking your team should win. I don't mind that at all, but they seem to be going overboard in their attempt to paint our defense as anything but dominant. A lot of them seem to think Arizona will have the best offense we have seen all season, while the Husker defense will be only the 3rd best unit the Cats have seen all year behind Iowa and Arizona State. Some of them have even tried to argue Nebraska's D-line will only be middle of the pack compared to some the D-lines they've faced this season. YOu can believe your team has a shot to win without dissing your opponent. It is possible to accurately predict a victory without having to trash and opponents strength in order to somehow justify your ability to win the game.
  13. It has more to do with lack of preparation by Arizona than our ability to execute. Catching an opponent off guard is worth more for production than physically manhandling them.
  14. I guarantee Arizona has dedicated their entire defensive gameplan to putting 8 guys in the box and stopping a power running game. It wouldn't hurt to at least start with our scheme from last year and the beginning of the season. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. But, I bet we would really catch Arizona off guard.
