  1. I really used to enjoy reading topics on this board but in just about every thread I have entered lately it has just been a whole lot of knapplc agruing with everyone. I hardly ever agree with anything he has to say, he just loves to argue and can't be wrong about anything. Of course this post isn't going to change anything, I just grow tired of reading his posts. Argue, demean, argue, demean...repeat. Congradulations knapplc, fly this board straight into the ground full speed ahead. Enjoy yourself, because it seems you might be the only one. Yawn
  2. I'd have to say unloading Gilmore was long overdue! This guy couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper sack, I never understood why we kept him. I know he was the recruiting coordinator and all but he was like dragging a boat anchor down the field! The cherry on top for me is the fact that he now can screw up with my favorite team to hate (USC), while also highlighting the idiocy of my favorite coach to laugh at...Lane Kiffin.
  3. Well I think someone saw what I saw. The whole team was flat from the start. The cute wildcat pass call was a huge turning point. I hate cute plays like that, it says I can't do this without trickeration. It usually backfires. But the most glaring discrepancy was again a lack of adjustment, I just don't understand how these guys get to this level and seem like they don't have a clue how to counter a pash rush. Um, run a darn screen, or draw. One might consider using a tightend as a blocker, or leaving a running back in there to block. It's really not that complicated but it was sure made to look that way last night. Someone else said Taylor was making any pre-snap adjustments, and that is really common for freshmen QB's to struggle with. Then consider the teachers lack of adjustment ability and well I think you get the point. Taylor is just a puppy, his confidence vanished with the ankle injury. The kid is a gammer, but a young running QB that can't (run/escape)and can't get any help from his coordinator is not going to look very good. This realy isn't Taylor's fault. Time to find a few new coaches for that side of the ball. I say Brown a Beck can stay, the rest have 24 hrs to pack their Sh!t and get gone.
  4. Watson's inability to adjust mid-game infuriates me, but he's hardly the only problem. Cotton and Saunders are worse. Saunders being mentioned as a problem is absolutely ridiculous! He has been key in the development of one of the best secondaries in the country. He is probably going to be a leading candidate to replace Carl if/when he moves on.
  5. Forget this QB recruitment this year. What a screw up for this year. I hope they learn a lessen from it. Right lesson being...Never trust a Gabbert!
  6. I'm not sure if anyone has considered this, and I haven't seen anyone post a comment about it so I'm sorry if it has already been montioned. Next season A Mr. Joe Ganz will be a part of this staff, it's entirely possible he has a major impact coaching these QB's. It was said over and over the guy knew this system inside and out and was another coach on the field. I think he could really help since we don't have a real QB coach on staff. I haven't been very impressed with Watson's QB coaching so Ganz just might turn some lights on this off season. Who knows, just something to consider. GBR
  7. Sure hope they take their time with this kid! We can't afford to create any lingering injuries with this guy. Even with a three back rotation next year we are really going to need this guy down the road. I think we should let him come back slowly, and save him for no earlier than the Texas game should we make it there. I love watching him play but wouldn't mind not seeing him again until the spring game really. But really what do I know, we could wait all that time and he could still have a problem. I guess we just have to trust the medical staff knows their craft. I wish him all the best.
  8. No really, hear me out. If anyone knows how bad our offense is, it's the defense. How do those guys expect us to win any games if: 1. The defense doesn't cause turn overs. 2. The defense dosen't pitch a shutout. 3. The defense dosen't score points! I'm not talking about putting our offense in position to score I mean the defense dosen't SCORE THEMSELVES! I mean really, if this defense thinks they are going to get any help from our offense they are kidding themselves! They better figure out their role quick or we might lose out. Come on D I know you can do better!
  9. Ganz will be an asset to the coaching staff. Good for him and us.
  10. Those two comments about moving Lee to reciever are absolutely rediculous! Think having our #2 QB playing WR is a good idea? What happens if he gets hurt? Then where down to a LB playing QB. That wouldn't be very smart. It would be much better just to move up some of our younger WR's than make that kind of bone headed move...LOL Sure am glad were just fans and they are the coaches...
  11. Wow, I am not happy with how we played Saturday either but I am shocked at this over reaction! Our offense is not performing up to par, yet are ranked #56, our Defense is currently ranked #11. If that dosen't show marked improvement I don't know what does. Most of the short comings of our offense I hate to say might just be a lack of playmakers. I am not saying we don't have any, they are just either under performing or are young and have not developed yet. I have been disappointed with the development of our recieving corps for quite a while now. I see many colleges around the country able to develop young recievers that are able to make a major impact and I have always been disappointed that we haven't been able to do that. The same could be said of our RB's with the exception of Burkhead of course. It seems like Ward, and Okafor should be ready to contribute. The o-line is probably the biggest disappointment of all! I am not so sure that the biggest problem they face is switching from the backpedaling pass block schemes to the road grading run blocking we are all so used to seeing. It seems to take several run plays in succession to get them going. All in all though we have a team that plays hard, and with pride. For the most part, and that is the biggest improvement I have seen. They got hit square in the mouth Saturday, and the defense didn't lay down at all. The offense on the other hand looked really fursterated. I do like Bo and think he's the right guy. He will make the right adjustments to keep us going in the right direction. It's obvious to me that's going to take some time to get the whole team playing at a high level. They will find a way to score, but it's not going to be pretty. Look at what a few key injuries has done to the Sooners season. That's really the same thing that's hurting us right now. Helu's dingged, Rex is out, a couple of our linemen won't play that were looking like they might be in the rotation. Spano might have been able to step in and provide a spark with more knowledge of the offense. But alas, it all adds up. And we need to be careful with the boo's, that has always made me hang my head no matter what the fans are booing about. It's all about perception. Keep the faith. GBR
  12. Opps, forgot I had to double check all my spelling.
  13. Good for them! It's all in good fun.
  14. Got a funny feeling we are going to Shock Va Tech. However they may not be holding a top 10 ranking by the time we came a knocking. Or they maybe holding a top 5 ranking when we get there. Either way if we take down the Hokies I'm a happy camper!
