  1. Another primetime blowout...what an absolute embarrassment...The gap in talent is so wide, it's laughable.

I mean, you didn't understand that going in?

  2. Antonio? Antonio who? :dunno :D

  3. At least we aren't Tennessee. That program is in an absolute freefall. I doubt Pruitt will be coaching much longer.

  4. Does anybody have a Wi-Fi Internet radio? I am looking to buy one to pick up stations outside of the Bay Area, but there are so many choices.

Yeah man use your phone on WiFi and get a Bluetooth speaker. Works excellent

I have a limited data plan on my smartphone; that's why. I need a radio that I can play for hours on end.

    4. Danny Bateman

      Danny Bateman

Oh, if that's the case and they make radios that can pick up digital streams data-free you could go that route.

Unless you're just needing this around the house. Then you could just disconnect your phone from data and stream via WiFi or pick them up on a computer instead. Either would be able to connect to a speaker.

  5. Does anyone think Harbaugh will see his final year or be terminated before?

Curious what rout the Wulvarines would go for a new coach. They haven't had much luck with "Michigan" guys but they didn't with Rich Rod either.

I honestly don't know that they have the cache to fire him there, even as not-good as he's been.

    4. Loebarth

      Loebarth

doubt he'll be terminated. cash flows are significantly down as a result of the conference's decision to play in empty seats with fewer games. I think most power 5 head coaches are safe this year.

  6. Does anyone understand why The Irishman isn't getting a wide release, but only relegated to small theaters?

    1. teachercd

      teachercd

Just a guess, but sometimes they do that to have it out at a certain point/time so that it can be considered for the Oscars.

    2. ZRod

      ZRod

Yup. It's a Netflix movie, but it needs to be in some theaters to get consideration by the academy.

There's a podcast on Fresh Air with the stepson of Chuckie O'Brien that's worth listening to.  I had no idea the story or the relatives involved.  https://www.npr.org/2019/10/01/766010613/in-hoffa-s-shadow-uncovers-an-author-s-family-ties-to-a-mafia-mystery

And I think because it was produced by Netflix there is a small theatre release now, then it goes live on streaming at the end of Nov.

  7. Does Martinez really give us a better chance of winning than playing McCaffrey?

    1. Savage Husker

      Savage Husker

No. He is a gift to other teams and it’s indefensible how comfortable Frost is with rolling him out there when more effective options are available

    2. Decoy73

      Decoy73

The coaches thought so. We just have to trust their judgment on that. I would have liked to see more McCaffery in the fourth quarter though. His limited reps this season generally have been impressive. Next year things will be different for the better, I have a feeling.

  8. finally found a loaf of bread after looking for several days...have never been so happy just to have a pb&j sandwich

I stopped at the store earlier, TP was still empty (or emptied yet again), meat and frozen veggies were sparse but not empty. Fresh produce looked normal, although it was being stocked at the time I was there.

The Bay Area has been ravaged. The only thing you can easily find is fruits and vegetables. Everything else is bare.

    4. commando

      commando

fruits and veggies wouldn't be all bad.   can do quite well with just those for awhile.

  9. great class, considering we've only had 9 wins over the past 2 seasons

  10. Has anyone tried Sling? Is it reliable? I need a way to get beIN Sports since Comcast dropped it and saw Sling offered it.

You won't be able to watch Big 10 games on FS1 with Sling. We had it last season and since Fox bought rights back from ESPN or something and that the fees need to be paid to Fox. But Sling already paid the fees to ESPN so they would blackout all Big 10 games on FS1 but we still could watch Big 12 and Pac 12 games. They also don't have BTN. We went to Hulu Live and now we have BTN for a similar but higher price to Sling.

    3. Redux

      Redux

Yeah I used Hulu Live last year too.  Definitely suggest YTTV instead of paying for Sling Blue AND Hulu Live

Thank you for all the replies.  @JJ Husker  beIN Sports shows La Liga games (soccer). I figured most people here wouldn't know the channel; that's why I just asked about best streaming options for the least amount of money.

  11. If that's the best we can expect from Martinez, we should use Vedral/McCaffrey moving forward.

    1. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

I guess the problem is THAT is not the best we can expect from 2AM. We saw much better last season and we know his ceiling is much higher than he has exhibited this year. Not sure what the issues are but the staff needs to figure it out and stop the "stick with him" at all costs approach. That might go for some other coaches as well.

  12. If we can't get Scott Frost, I hope we give McElwain a hard look.

@C N Red desperation makes people do crazy things, I'd wager. Like suggesting McElwain.

  13. If you're only going to see 1 movie this year, make sure it's The Irishman. I saw it on Tuesday; another Scorsese classic.

  15. It's hilarious seeing all those coaches turn down the sCUm head coaching position. It would be great if they ended up with Bielema.

Bienemy is poised to get a NFL head coaching job soon, no need to go to CU.

    4. Xmas32

      Xmas32

Yeah taking the CU job would've been a terrible move for Bienemy both monetarily and from a career perspective.

  16. Kids are still playing basketball at the park, so the city had to physically take down the hoop, rim and all. desperate times call for desperate measures I guess

Want to know the funny thing?  I used to hear about how "kids these days never get out of the house and play games like basketball at the park.....all they do is sit at home and play video games."  Ummm.....I guess that isn't necessarily true.

    3. Enhance

      Enhance

@JJ Husker agreed. That spring breaker story making the rounds the last day or two was a real trigger moment for me.

There was also full on cookout at my neighborhood park with like 15-20 people a few days ago, and there were families on the playground equipment 3-4 days ago as well. City came and put signs up yesterday and even some fencing around the playground.

    4. HuskerNBigD

      HuskerNBigD

@BigRedBuster I was talking about this exact situation to someone yesterday. In Dallas, the parks and trails have become way too crowded for distancing purposes. It's like now that people are forced to stay home, they want to get outside. I don't get it at all; when they're not forced to stay home they're more than happy to be inside and on their phones, watch tv, play videogames, etc. Some psychological warfare going on.

  17. MLB season pushed back until May, at the earliest.

I have 10 chickens, make that 9, the doberman got 1 this morning.  I have been giving eggs to the neighbors because we have so many currently.  The neighbor behind us has like 40 and gives us eggs to give away as well.  I have told him we are good and so are the other neighbors.

  20. offense looked awful...o-line got dominated...hopefully next week is better
