  1. Finally, a night game on ABC!

  2. OU by 17-24 points. If we lose by more than 24 points, a massive blowout, then I think serious questions need to be asked regarding if Frost is the right man for the job. I don't expect a win, but it can't be a Wisconsin situation under Pelini.
  3. Best of luck to Donte! I hope he is successful and they hire him full time. He was one of the coaches during the Riley era that I thought was actually competent.
  4. I could listen to "Lambada" a million times and never get tired of it.
  5. Jesus Christ Almighty....I am so glad we aren't in a conference with them anymore. Texas destroys everything they touch.
  6. That's nothing compared to what would happen if we canned Frost after the 2021 season. The s#!tstorm from ESPN and the national media would be tremendous. "Who do they think they are?" "This isn't the 90's." "Nebraska won't get any better than Frost." I guarantee you they would be saying those exact things. It would look awful for us.
  7. Also, we gave Frost an extension in 2019. We're tied to him until December 31, 2026. Do we really want another Pelini on our hands, paying another coach to not coach us and just to go away? https://huskers.com/news/2019/11/16/football-nebraska-to-extend-scott-frost-coaching-contract-to-2026.aspx
  8. If they fire Frost after this season, then I am done with this program. You can't have 3 coaches in a span of just 7 years and expect success. Who the hell would want to coach here, knowing they only get 4 years to produce an 8 or 9 win season. No one, I repeat, no one would take us seriously anymore. We have to support Frost.
  9. Was anyone else bored watching the "game" yesterday? I really tried to get into it, but I just couldn't get attached. Maybe the whole no tackling in the first half affected my enthusiasm?

Even the people at the rail yard (it was packed) were not really into it, I get it, it is a practice, and the team has been lame.  I wonder if we will start to see a shift of being a school that has lame football but a fun tailgate/bar experience.

So the tailgate and bars were up to snuff?

O street was weird, Brothers never opened, Sandy's never opened.

      Not sure about the tailgating.

  10. Let's give him more than 3 years before we start calling him a "colossal failure."
  11. I don't think we will ever be able to compete for a national championship again. Too much going against us. Talent disparity, other teams upgrading their facilities, every game now on television...I wonder what real advantages we have anymore.

Unless the NCAA and college football as a whole are willing to commit to developing a more equitable system, then I tend to agree. I don't necessarily think Nebraska will compete for a title. At least not with any measure of consistency.

I readily acknowledge that CFB is cyclical, but the disparity between programs is not getting any better and it's at perhaps its worst point in history. Nebraska had half the formula figured out in 2009 to compete for a national championship. Even an average to above average offense could've meant a national title berth. It didn't happen, and unless we're able to catch lightning in a bottle again, I don't see it happening.

I wouldn't say "never".  That's an awfully long time.

But, what we need to be working towards is being that 9-3 or 10-2 team regularly.  If we can get to that point, it's possible to every once in a while have that special team that gets into the playoffs.  If we can do that, anything can happen.

I firmly believe there is no reason why we can't be that 9-3 or 10-2 team consistently.

  12. Can someone tell me why the 4k and Blu-Ray versions of Goodfellas are completely sold out? Amazon, Best Buy and the other major retailers don't have them. Did they go out of print?

It's now on Netflix.  Maybe temporarily stoping production of the disc's, etc was part of the agreement??

It's one of my favorites for sure!

Curious what rout the Wulvarines would go for a new coach. They haven't had much luck with "Michigan" guys but they didn't with Rich Rod either.

I honestly don't know that they have the cache to fire him there, even as not-good as he's been.

    4. Loebarth

doubt he'll be terminated. cash flows are significantly down as a result of the conference's decision to play in empty seats with fewer games. I think most power 5 head coaches are safe this year.

  14. Primo, you better hope Biden wins because if he doesn't, this thread is not going to age well at all. I take it you're not superstitious.
  15. The logistics are remarkable. The players having to quarantine themselves from their own families; all of the games being played in Arizona, not to mention empty stadiums.
  16. Kids are still playing basketball at the park, so the city had to physically take down the hoop, rim and all. desperate times call for desperate measures I guess

Want to know the funny thing?  I used to hear about how "kids these days never get out of the house and play games like basketball at the park.....all they do is sit at home and play video games."  Ummm.....I guess that isn't necessarily true.

@JJ Husker agreed. That spring breaker story making the rounds the last day or two was a real trigger moment for me.

There was also full on cookout at my neighborhood park with like 15-20 people a few days ago, and there were families on the playground equipment 3-4 days ago as well. City came and put signs up yesterday and even some fencing around the playground.

@BigRedBuster I was talking about this exact situation to someone yesterday. In Dallas, the parks and trails have become way too crowded for distancing purposes. It's like now that people are forced to stay home, they want to get outside. I don't get it at all; when they're not forced to stay home they're more than happy to be inside and on their phones, watch tv, play videogames, etc. Some psychological warfare going on.

  17. Social distancing has officially been extended to April 30. Happy happy joy joy! Another month of sitting at home.

I have 10 chickens, make that 9, the doberman got 1 this morning.  I have been giving eggs to the neighbors because we have so many currently.  The neighbor behind us has like 40 and gives us eggs to give away as well.  I have told him we are good and so are the other neighbors.

  19. Yeah, I feel ya. The 50 kw blow torches are mostly talk radio, and since the coronavirus, it's all been the same. That being said, it's fun to see how far away you can pick up stations. And it's completely free!
  20. I have a General Electric Superadio 1, an original, along with a C. Crane 2E. I just ordered a Tecsun PL - 880 on advice from another DX'er. Being in California I get quite a few stations from Tijuana after dark. My farthest station was 880 KRVN Lexington, NE, strangely enough. Anyway, I am curious to see if anyone else here practices and, if you do, what radio and specific model do you use? - Street
