  1. Is that a Missery player on the right? Is he no longer committed to NU and is teasing a choice?
  2. Having Donovan on staff no doubt helps Dylan feel comfortable about going to Nebraska, but to keep throwing out the extension and insinuating, or flat out stating, that DR is the only reason Donovan is on staff is what is insulting. That was the go to line before this season and people continue to do that with the extension. Rhule wants Donovan on staff period, the fact that his presence helps in recruiting his nephew is just a bonus.
  3. I think Donovan has shown he is a pretty good O-Line coach from how the unit got much better over the year and became a solid unit.
  4. The bolded part has nothing to do with Dylan, the extension was done well before the DR possibility came back to the fore. Donovan was the only coach on the staff whose contract was up after this season since he only had 1 year left in his deal when he was retained. Rhule feels like Donovan is doing a good job, both in coaching and recruiting, and wanted to keep him, hence the extension and raise. Frankly I think many fans also realize now that Donovan is a pretty good coach and it is disrespectful to him to keep spouting this DR conspiracy nonsense.
  5. With the amount of change over for rosters these days, I think they look at it against the whole roster count and available slots against the 85. Bringing in 3-5 transfers per year with an overall count of transfers being at 10 or less seems reasonable considering most transfers are only 1-2 year players.
  6. 10% of 85 is 8.5, so I don’t think he disagrees with you.
  7. Great win today! I expect Kentucky, assuming they win vs Arky, will look to bring a better effort against the Huskers than they did early in the year. The team looks dialed in though, which is a great sign.
  8. Completely agree with your frustration, it masks the overall improvement in the program this past year. The playoff expansion to 12 teams is why I think they could/should be in contention for a spot. I am not saying it they will get in, but they should be close. Looking at this year’s final rankings, teams 9-12 were all 10-2 and the next 3 were all 9-3 so getting up to 9+ wins in the B1G means your are in contention for a top 12 playoff spot. I don’t think it is unreasonable to get there, especially with Rhule’s track record and the overall program improvement in the program this year.
  9. I would say in year 3 that the Huskers should be competing to win 9+ games a year. Get up to 10+ and you are in contention for the playoff. With a competent QB I feel like this year’s team would have been at 8-9 wins, so asking for them to get to 8+ next season and another jump of 1-2 wins the 3rd year shouldn’t be considered unreasonable. In fact that is exactly what Rhule has done at each of his 2 previous college HC jobs. I think the O-Line got markedly better throughout this past season, to the point where everyone’s favorite whipping boy, Raiola, hasn’t even been mentioned as a needed coaching change. Not to mention the strong recruiting class of O-linemen he has coming in. The D-Line was very good and most of those key pieces are returning. Frankly I feel pretty good about the trenches on this team currently, which is a key building block for success. Add a QB and a couple more pieces to to the roster and this team should take another jump next year.
  10. While I understand the COVID season was odd, I don’t think you can just erase it completely. Norvell started building his culture, team processes and structure, installed his systems, hired out his coaching staff, conducted talent assessment and recruiting that had continuity into 2021, conducted team practices, etc. All of that matters, plus he also coached games that mattered regardless of how odd that season was. Those games allowed him to continue to develop his players, see what was working and what wasn’t, as well as identify what roster/coaching holes he needed to fill. IMO getting to 10 wins in 2022 doesn't happen if he is hired in 2021. That being said, Norvell did show progress from 2020 to 2021 getting to 5 wins and increasing their conference win total to 4 from 2. It is completely fair to expect and improvement in record in year 2 under Rhule, but I expect year 3 and beyond to be when hopefully the Huskers are competing for playoff spots and double digit wins year-in and year-out.
  11. This is Norvell’s 4th season at FSU, he was hired before the 2020 season. 2020 - 3-5 2021 - 5-7 2022 - 10-3 2023 - 13-0
  12. Well he has coached 3 QB’s who have won the Heisman and has 3 QB’s, soon to be 4, in the NFL as starters.
  13. Wisconsin is going to have some issues playing both Penn State and potentially Purdue a 3rd time.
  14. @Hooked on Huskers Get to it my man!
  15. Loved it again as always. I will tell you what, #2 is building a strong case to be 1st Team All B1G.
  16. Sooooo HH is good again? I am losing track of the fan narrative….
  17. I remember being completely enthralled with that clip. I was extremely impressed with how Reimer and Heinrich guided the D through that practice. I can’t remember which time it was they got sent off, but the event that triggered it was a d-lineman hitting the QB and Rhule went beserk about playing with discipline, i.e. not hitting a green jersey player. One of the D-Lineman said back, “tell those m’fers to block then!” or something very similar. When Reimer and He Rich got them all together in the indoor facility, I was impressed on how they calmed them all down and got them refocused. It was that clip that convinced me this D was going to be pretty salty.
  18. I learned that all of the hand wringing by the media about Purdue being tougher to beat/better team than NW was BS.
  19. I learned that #2 is a baaaaddddddd man!
  20. Yeah Purdue was pretty low class today. They pissed on the wrong yard today. Blackshirts saw that s#!te and said hold my f’ing beer….
  21. Thanks, still pretty damn impressive. These Blackshirts are as fun to watch as any squad since 2010.
