  1. In my eyes the biggest factor in this game will be turnovers. Both offenses will move the ball. Whomever plays cleaner with less penalties and takes care of the ball better wins.
  2. Also some extremely interesting comments from Epley regarding athleticism on the football team that I hadn't seen before. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/boyd-epley-s-role-with-husker-football-team-expanding/article_83e84c98-f798-11e5-971d-b3ff55375e27.html?mode=jqm Comments had come up before. I'm not overly surprised that some players would be off in their testing a week after the regular season, especially among the linemen. I was surprised at the time that epley called them out publicly. Felt a bit agenda driven at the time, and still does. Oooh that sneaky Boyd Eppley....he's always got that hidden agenda to transform athletes into top tier physical specimens...that bastard. One of the comments that really stuck out to me was that the volleyball team was more athletic than the football team. That comment makes sense considering that they won the national championship last year. Seriously, as someone else said, loosen up your tin foil hat. Epley just speaking the truth and some can't handle it.
  3. We also led the conference in giving up passing plays of 20+ yards last year. Food for thought....
  4. Maybe it will. But not immediately. And not without a legit pass rush and a revolving door day to day at linebacker. They are in a tough situation missing Bando, Rose-Ivey, Valentine, and Gangwish all at the same time. Plus losing Newby during the game yesterday. All that talent being gone makes generating a pass rush that much harder. I'm hoping they can put their heads together and come up with something to relieve the pressure on our corners with more zone or something.
  5. I figured having other coaches on the defensive staff with coordinator experience would be very beneficial in helping our guys get comfy in the new scheme and overcoming any hiccups like we are seeing. Who else in the country has 3 guys on one side of the ball that has been a coordinator at a D1 program? Has to help right?..... Right?!
  6. Losing to Wisconsin. Pathetic. https://www.facebook.com/SiriusXMCollege?ref=stream
  7. Can we at least wait and see what Frost does without Mariota?
  8. Mike Andersen LB Overshadowed by Trev Alberts. Could time a blitz as good as anybody.
  9. Current: AA Past: Brook Berringer(epitome of a Husker)
  10. Quarter of a ton bench with squat of 650+ hopefully equals "HULK SMASH" on the field!
  11. I am curious to see how he looks in the fall. I completely agree that he needs to put on weight, there were times last season that he got pushed around a little. But speed is his biggest weapon, do whatever just keep the speed.
  12. I never understood how Suh's success didn't immediately result in some high profile recruiting on the defensive line. With Gregory's success, I think we may finally get some kids attention. Although, the guys we have on this defensive line right now aren't too shabby IMO. Pretty damn talented really. Maybe we just keep building on this. We need to put studs in the draft year after year. Suh was awesome but we didn't follow him up with anyone. Hell, Purdue has a great player every once in awhile. But it's the schools that do it year in and year out that will get the top recruits. If Gregory has the year we all hope he does and the other young players on the d-line keep progressing and get drafted in rounds 1 or 2 we will start to get the reputation we need to pull some bigger fish in here. We are setting ourselves up to do the same thing at RB too I believe.
  13. Chip will use Taylor as an offensive weapon, no chance he plays DB. Ball security is the biggest issue. NFL defenders will surely test Taylor's ability to hold onto the ball.
  14. I think this is his best possible fit really. If anyone can come up with a way to utilize speed it is Chip Kelly. As long as Taylor is 100% he is dangerous. I'm very intrigued by this. Good luck Taylor!!!
