    Today my Dad goes in for double (potentially quadruple depending on other blockage) bypass surgery today.  He had a heart attack Friday.   This is hard for us, none of the family could see him over the weekend or before his surgery.   And his poor nurses had to deal with a crotchety old man who didn't have his phone, hearing aides or teeth.   Bless those care givers for having to deal with him when he can't communicate very well and is hangry.

      @sho How did things go? I had heart catherization on Monday as well, 95 - 99% blockage on my LAD artery. Everything went well for me, as I hope things went well for your father.

      Did the first "full" academic day today. I had some kids over sleep, but can't complain about behavior with chemistry and AP chemistry students. Today (and tomorrow, block days) are just checking in, how you doing, expectations/procedures and how to turn in late paper copies (take a picture and email it). 

       

      Friday/Monday will be the first instructional. We are allowed UP TO 30 minutes of zoom per class. 

       

      First day of new material: Brief introduction to content, then go read or listen to content.

      Next day, what questions do you have, they answer a couple of questions, here's a google form assignment.

      I get my butt in the car and go to the restaurant and pick up my own food. Always have. When your 8 piece chicken wings shows up with 7 pieces.

      In Kansas all bars and restaurants are closed.  Restaurants are take out or delivery only.  There is a proposal, get this, to expand it to bars. Curbside margaritas anyone?

    Has your employer done anything different with this covid 19 stuff?  Today our older or those with any medical conditions were given the option to go until this is over, we have hand sanitizer everywhere, no customers or delivery guys inside the building and everything they drop of sits in a outside warehouse for 24 hours before being opened or used. Sounds like all overtime is done as well.

      @teachercd HS and CC online for the rest of the semester. BUT I flip my chemistry class so I already have all of my lectures recorded so all they have to do is the work and contact me **how will be determined** if they have questions. Testing will be "on their honor".  CC is computer assisted math so again nothing changes except for testing not in class but at home "on their honor"

    Advice on feeding a 13 year old boy. I may have to give him up. An entire Costco box Of 17 hot pockets in a week. That’s in addition to his normal ration of 5 meals a day.

      Next layer: Husker gear - red, not black

      Outer layer: Hawkeye layer just to walk around the tail gating to get free food and drink.  Then remove this layer and burn it before entering stadium

      Many moons ago I interviewed for a HS math position in Plattsmouth. Principal kept asking about classroom management and I kept saying Jr High students are a pain but I really do well with HS.  After 10-15 minutes he finally says "You do realize this is a Jr High position?" The HS position was filled internally by a JH teacher. Waaay before the internet and instantaneous data updates
