"By he own admission he was holding back last season."
i don't know why anyone would do this, it speaks poorly of his character, IMO. now, foolishly, he only has one season to get it right and bust his butt. good luck to him, he needs to leave everything on the field this year.
If I remember correctly, he said it was so he could last the entire season.

I agree with MelScott 62:
Best as in what recruiting services say - MU
Best as in who fits the system - 4 way tie; CU, NU, MU, KU I feel each of these coaching staffs can now get many of the recruits they identify.

Knowing the moves and being able to stop them are two seperate things................
Yea, my high school girlfriend was good at both

Last one done forward the results to ESPN
Dang - I must have forced Mark May out of my head. And I can't get back to edit the poll.
Ohiohusker 15 - Yes it should be ESPN anal-cyst, er, ESPN analyst

I have a feeling we're going to break the top 25 this year although it will be in the twenties. I feel like we might get to #23 or so.
I honestly kinda hate having to talk about us losing this game and that game because Nebraska has to go in with the attitude that we can win each game. What if we pull out the upset a few times this year? In 2008 Nebraska is the team where nobody knows what to expect from them. In a way, that makes us very dangerous. We're that team with nothing to lose and the only way to go from here is up. That, and it's payback time.
It's not about where we've been, it's about where we're going!
I agree!!!
We can model ourselves after . . . . . KU(?!!?!)

Good job, Cy - sign on as Western M. Bronco and stir the pot

You guys have my respect. Every year for the last 3 you have improved and gave the Huskers everything they wanted. You have a great coach. You played all the games you could and won all but one. And I honestly think if Reesing would have figured out he needed to move out a little earlier, you would have gotten Missouri.
I look for you guys to have a little tougher season this year, because everyone knows you can play ball. But it would not surprise me to see you setting in the exact same place this year, except beating Missouri.
This living in the past that some fans have drives me crazy. This game is what have you done for me lately, You have, we havent. Past means squat. Scoreboard is all that matters.
You have a clean program and great fans, there is no reason you should not be very proud of your team. I know I am glad to see you rise up and give some butt whippins. Keep up the good work, as if and when we do manage to beat you it will mean a lot more to us.
Relatively clean - I thought they got into some minor trouble with NCAA. Free phone calls and questionable online summer courses or some such.

Good job, Cy - sign on with a different sceen name and stir the pot

Awesome to see a Navy guy that is going to be a part of the Sea of Red. Thank GOD, Pelini brought back the Walk On Program, because it adds to the amount of heart and determination on the field!
This will be his 2nd year with the team. Buddy Wyatt nick named him "Sarge" He red-shirted last year.

BTW, where is COZ now, inquiring mind wants to know?
He's an unpaid assistant high school coach

Early prediction NU 42 KU 27 (There, I gave you 42 points, because I do like Ganz and think he is a good QB. The problem is there isn't much around him.) Your defense is going to get roasted again, but not for 76.
Fixed it for you

And if someone from Kansas says they don't hate Nebraska, ask them "Why the statue on top of their capitol building is shooting arrows at us?"
I used to be way too homophobic to look...But it appears he's shooting more than just arrows at us..
Does he need to "pinch something off" ?...see "balloon knot" (sphincter)
Or is he waving his naughty parts in our general direction?
LOL, that's a pretty messed up looking state emblem...... Can't quite tell if it is supposed to be some Greco-Roman deity or a native American dude just randomly shooting an arrow into the sky during a vision quest or something. But you are right, something very strange is going on in his crotch region.....dangling 'junk' would be my guess.....how uncouth!!!
He's a member of the Kansa Tribe

I don't know how people who aren't baseball fans do it. MLB is the only thing that gets me through the summer...
Minor league baseball - KC Royals!
-
And to say hiring Pelini is not a "step forward" is hypocritical. These same people are saying he is unproven, but then they go and say that hiring him wasn't a step forward? How do they know? He's unproven...remember!?
Need I remind you he is 1-0 as a head coach?

Oh man, at the KU game in '05 when they walloped us 40-15 for the first time in 40 years or something, we almost got into 6 fights with drunken KU fans walking back to our friend's house. It seemed as if every block we were on there was some drunken group of frat boys yelling profanities at us, it was ridiculous. However, I took it in stride, it's been forever since KU fans could talk trash, so I kind of understood.
Describes my son - drunken KU frat boy. Cept he's Big Red through and through

What two teams would you like to see play each other?
I have always wanted USC to play South Carolina.
Besides Carroll versus Spurier, I am just curious to see if the Trojans can cover the 'c$%ks (against the spread that is)

I'm not quite sure why everyone is hating on Ohio State.
Two words

I don't think it was because they oozed talent or that they were coached well, it was because they had a favorable schedule with average talent. You put that same exact team in this year's schedule, and there is no way they go 12-1.
Being down here in the state of Kansas all that I heard about last year's off season was everything done with the KU team was competitive. Things like in summer pass drills, the group that had the most incompletes had to run gassers, and such. And it carried over the the regular season. The schedule helped a lot, but so did attitude.
And if someone from Kansas says they don't hate Nebraska, ask them "Why the statue on top of their capitol building is shooting arrows at us?"

The one thing that surprises me the most is that we haven't had a lot more players quit the team. I don't think Pelini will take half assed attitude and performance. Maybe the players are giving him their all where BC couldn't get it out of them. Maybe they're so sick and tired of losing they don't care what sacrifices they have to make.
and Amen
And ask Michigan how many players with 4/5 stars were on Appalatian, Appleation, oh h*ll, App St. last year

I'm impressed - you picked a website that has KU 4-5-1 instead of 6-3-1 in 1960. This includes KU forfeiting to CU and MU (and another bone of contention in the border war or battle or conflict or police action or slight disagrement or whatever is politically correct these days.)
