  1. AD's like to hire their own coaches. Frost may be on a shorter leash now. As for Moos, he's 70 years old and has been spending a lot of time at home. Maybe he felt like staying home with the famiy and retiring was a better choice.
  2. A successful year for me would be to get to a bowl. Sadly, I don't think it'll happen.
  3. Lots of Okies here in my part of Oregon. They're all hillbillies.
  4. You can bet Hunt's lawyer has already been in contact with the DA backing away from that deal. That's the defense attorney's job. To provide a rigorous defense.
  5. I wasn't including Thompson, but he only came because his dad is an assistant coach. Same as his brother Stevie. Calloo is a transfer we got this year Okie State. Same goes for Alatishe who we got from Nicholls State. Alatishe has been a welcome surprise though I wish he's look to score more often. Silva was offered by us and UTEP despite being the #1 JUCO in Cali. Silver: I didn't even know who that was until you brought him up. Hunt's offers aren't from any Power 6 schools except USC and you have to wonder how soft that offer was. Lucas, despite being a record holder, wasn't recruited by any Power 6 schools besides us. Frankly, he was the only high school guy I had hope for. I thought it was weird only smaller schools offered. Reichle supposedly had an offer from Oregon, but his final two were us and UC Irvine.
  6. Oregon State is a complete fluke. They have a bunch of kids that no other Power 6 programs wanted and were picked to finish dead last in the Pac 12. Their RPI was hideous at the end of the season and their only chance to make the tournament was to win the Pac 12 tourney. They did using an ugly style that has worked for some reason. As an alumnus I love it, but Coach Tinkle will get a contract extension and his recruiting and record has been atrocious.
  7. They smoked Kansas. That was a surprise. Their game against Oregon should be a good one.
  8. That glorified high school team went 9-4 in 2016. 2017 rolled around and the administration hired Bob Diaco. The same Bob Diaco Frost beat this season. The same Bob Diaco PURDUE kicked to the curb after one season. Eliminating him alone should have improved Nebraska's defense by leaps and bounds. Instead, Frost was hired and he stupidly got rid of a bunch of players. One of which was a first team All Pac 12 linebacker last season. Today, Nebraska's offense is a glorified high school unit as there are absolutely no playmakers on it. None. The two best playmakers have quit in subsequent years. Wandale, McCaffrey and Martinez were the only three players anybody worried about on the offense and the former two are gone. People expecting more than 4-5 wins are in for a rude awakening. Again. And those numbers are generous. In what many consider the weakest division in college football. This offense will be uglier than the 2009 one. Yet, many Nebraska fans will be back in 2021 talking about 10 wins after what could easily be an 8-9 loss season making excuses for Frost and laughably still blaming Riley.
  9. He's not impressive at all. Oregon brought in a grad transfer from Boston College who didn't play very much last season, but dazzled in mop up duty. He chose to come back and Shough saw the writing on the wall. With all of that said, he'd probably be on Nebraska's two deep. However, he's not going to take us to the top of the West.
  10. I'd guess anywhere from 3 to 5 wins. I don't know where the offense is going to come from.
  11. I just read the news on ESPN.com and immediately remembered that Lowe stopped a school shooting,
  12. He's pretty happy with his Fox Sports gig.
  13. After a little research, it appears you're right. However, it's still fairly tough. "At Air Force, prospective players need to have at least a 3.5 high school GPA, a 25 on the ACT in all subjects, and a minimum of a 1200 two-part SAT score." I don't know if Luke has this in him. He still hasn't figured out he's actually left handed.
  14. Well, I know he's not going to any of those three unless they've drastically changed their admissions policies. Hahaha. A buddy of mine from high school went to West Point (Army) and got a recommendation letter from one of our senators just to get in. As for Luke, the only way he succeeds is going somewhere where they run the ball or he goes down a level or two. He just doesn't have the arm to play QB. He's a terrific athlete and its a shame he didn't give another skill position a try, but that's his decision. Who knows, maybe he doesn't have a desire to play in the NFL.
  15. Welp, the kid wants to play QB. I say good luck, young man. I wish him well.
  16. The current Oregon State University was the Oregon Agricultural College back then. Beavers since 1910. I've never heard the Aggies moniker used, but a lot of Ag schools were called "Aggies" way back when.
  17. My county got 1900+ doses over two weeks ago. As of today, they've given just over 300 shots because none of the folks responsible for the shots works weekends or holidays. It's a sh*tshow.
  18. Not the full year. No doubt he kept things simple with a true freshman as well.
  19. He was a dark horse before the season started thanks to a 4-2 finish the year before. With the guru in his ear for a year, he regressed.
  20. How many complete recruiting classes did Riley have? The main word being "complete?" Remember, he was there for a short time. Also, how many of Riley's guys left because they either didn't want to play for Frost or Frost didn't want them? Lindsay? McQuitty? Spielman? Spielman's loss looks awfully big right now and Gebbia is a better thrower than Martinez. You talk about a void. The word I would use is purge and that lands at the feet of Frost. Mav, you're the recruiting guy. Is/are Riley's classe(s) rankings at lot worse than Frost's? As I look at the second part of your post and Frost's guys, you spoke of guys in the mix and starters. My answer is of course, somebody has to take the field. The running-backs so far are non-contributors, except for Mills and he's mediocre. He has 205 yards in 5 games. Thompkins, Scott and Johnson have combined for 116 yards. I love, love, love Wondale. Sadly, I sometimes wish he played for another top 25 team so we can see just how good he can be. Betts has 12 catches for 131 yards. If you add up all of the yards from our backs and receivers, do they add up to Spielman's sophomore year? I haven't looked or added them up, but it's sad to think about. The original question is do we have the talent we need? Well, need for what? Nattys? Absolutely not. Conference championships? No way we can beat OSU. West champs? No. Our boys are in last place. Last. You are what your record says you are. We have virtually nobody who is drafted and those who are drafted are in the last few rounds. We have three guys on offense that are electric with the ball in their hands, but they need help and they don't have enough of that yet. Is Frost going to bring in that help? I'm not confident he will.
  21. Would you have believed it...even if I showed you the time machine?
