Nebraska became the 11th school to offer the St. Cecilia standout junior offensive tackle a football scholarship. Sterup met with both NU offensive line coach Barney Cotton and head coach Bo Pelini in Lincoln Friday morning on the way to the state track and field meet, and an offer was extended. “It’s pretty exciting,” Sterup said. “I’m pretty biased growing up in Nebraska to go there. But I’m still going to keep my options open. I’m not going to commit just because it’s Nebraska. MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis guard Roburt Sallie plans to pursue basketball elsewhere after he receives his degree in August. Sallie, a junior, will have one season of eligibility remaining after playing with the Tigers the past two seasons and at City College of San Francisco as a freshman. The team said Tuesday that Sallie plans to spend his final year of eligibility at a college closer to his Sacramento, Calif., home or pursue professional basketball overseas. If he chooses another college, he will not have to sit out a season if he has already graduated. Sallie made 21 starts in 70 games, averaging 8.2 points and 2.8 rebounds.
