  1. If Martinez goes out on the field for the first series and runs like he's 100%, there will be a lot of "puckering" in the state of Oklahoma. I do not believe that this will happen (Martinez near 100%) but it's fun to think about...
  2. This makes me LOL every time I see it.
  3. They FEAR what Pelini & Co are going to bring back to Nebraska.
  4. Our QB situation is so uncertain right now it's hard to tell. However, if we play OSU again, I'd have a lot of faith in our defense holding OSU to far less production than the first time around. Our offense may be weaker, but our defense will be smarter.
  5. I certainly hope so. They have all the motivation in the world right now and as long as that motivation stays focused on the task at hand, I see a big finish from this Husker team.
  6. Yeah, even I was fast in high school. It's often like being the tallest guy in a colony of dwarfs... But I really hope you're right.
  7. I'm SO glad they keep the injuries quiet. It's all a big poker game and its best not to show what you've got, or don't have, until you have to.
  8. Cali; Great post. It's easy to lose perspective after a little taste of success. There have been GIANT strides forward in the past 3 years and the future looks very, VERY bright.
  9. Weak performance thus far. Good thing it's just KU in a down year. Hopefully they won't pull 35 pts in the 4th qtr.
  10. Is Martinez a roommate of Niles Paul? They seem to have the same disease, fumbleitis.
  11. Maybe this injury will help Martinez develop as a passer and game manager rather than being able to rely on his speed. Maybe it will pay off in the future.
  12. Is that also the equivalent of kissing your sister?
  13. Bill; Please put the name Zenitram to rest. It's stupid
  14. Martinez is limping? This injury is going to haunt us for the rest of the year...
  15. Yeah, I guess I can use a soup spoon and a backhoe in the same way, but they have slightly different levels of effectiveness. And why else would the staff/team be so secretive about injuries??? They don't want to give away any information that will allow the opposing team to be better prepared.
  16. Why? Putting on pads and going through a warm-up of hand offs may mildly aggravate an injury that's bound for surgery anyway. It may serve to create doubt/confusion for opposing defensive coordinators. He may be taking some pain for the team to create that doubt/confusion. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Either way, putting on pads does not rule out a torn labrum.
  17. Lee and Martinez may in fact be decoys right now with little/no intention to actually play. It's best not to allow the opposing staff to know which QB they're preparing for. It's worth the minor aggravation of the labrum tear (potential) of putting on the pads and going through a "mock" warm-up at the end of his career to create some doubt/confusion for opposing defensive coordinators. It's not as if Lee has an NFL paycheck waiting for him. Injury info should be held VERY close to the vest. No opposing defense needs to know whom to prepare for IMO.
  18. We'll see how Martinez plays tomorrow and how he's moving. If we have a healthy (90%+) Taylor Martinez, I'd take the 7 points and place the bet. If we have only Cody Green, the confidence level goes way down. I don't know enough about aTm to say much about their team but when this Husker team shows up, I honestly believe they could beat anyone (as long as it's not stupid U. of Texas...) Welcome!
  19. That would depend on the location and the severity of the tear.
  20. I sure hope this is correct. Having a ligament injury, the healing time is quite slow and at sub-maximal levels of exertion it can feel pretty good. Game situations demand maximal exertions though and that's what has me worried. I sincerely hope that I'm wrong and that Taylor is healing well.
