The fire Cally thread got me wondering. If we have another 9 win season are you all OK with that? Should Cally be on the hot seat? If Missouri wins the Big 12 North should Cally be on the hot seat? How much more time should he have? I'm not trying to push one way or the other (for his firing) but I do think we need a 10 win season or he needs to feel some pressure!

The fire Cally stuff is too sensational but I did go to the guys web site. I at least partially agree with 3 of his 5 reasons. I didn't like the way he coached the USC game. It seemed kind of cowardly. He was terribly outcoached by Stoops in the Big 12 championship game. I was disappointed by the play calling at the end of the Auburn game. I still don't think we had to have such a bad record his first year here. If he would have coached the talent he had, and not forceds his offense on them we still could've won the weak B12 North. I do like the recruiting classes and am not part of the fire Cally crowd yet but if we only win 9 games this year is that all right with most of you? If we have a 9-5 year this season then next year needs to be a top 10 finish or he needs to go. I agree with the original psoter in that we should be holding this program to the highest standards. It is why Solich was fired after a 10-3 season (which I was completely in favor of!).

And your program is held together with what? Satrical newspaper clippings? Are you really knocking our talent when compared to yours? A trip to RIVALS or SCOUT might help. I don't think many JUCO's would transfer to Tissue (or tISU or whatever you calling it?) They probably have better programs at their original schools. One JUCO to get familiar with, LArry Asante, your dominant QB and his gifted recievers are gonna get introduced kind of rudely I think. ON a positive note, I do think you will get better in the future. To compete in the Big 12 you have to recruit Texas. I think Chicshzekck (thats the hockey spelling of his last name) can do that. And once he proves he can be a head coach he will leave for a better school.

Since Major Culbert is #4 on the depth chart and the new guys are making an impression, does it make sense to leave him at running back. When/ if Glenn comes back he is even lower. I know the kid has been moved around too much but wasn't he a 4 star recruit? Don't we need him on the field somewhere?

He could be a sham and still be better than that so called QB you guys have. WTF? Bret Meyer is a proven dominate QB. I'll be back in December when he is named all big 12! You have seen the conference predictions right? Yeah, come back in December and we'll compare records and QB stats. Not sure why the quote is happening. Rome is talking about Ne- USC match up. I think there is a bunch of email exchnage going on right now. He's pumping up the huskers and their fans, saying we are more genuine and not as shallow as LA people. Also, saying we can talk trash with the best of them. Now, maybe something about the game?

Jim Rome is one guy who actually supports Nebraska. I love listening to that guy Its KKFN 950 "The Fan" in Denver. As soon as I saw the depth chart I raced right here!! I wanted to catch all of the "Why is Grixby starting instead of Jones!?!?!?" Murillo must be the real deal. Jones was a JUCO stop gap plug-in. He stepped in when we needed him last year but Grix is still a better corner. I bet when Bowman is fully healthy Grix becomes the nickel over Jones as well. Glenn not even on the chart is weird to me? Wow, I can't wait until game day!!! Jim Rome is just starting an interview with Mac Brown on the internet radio station I'm listening to. Are we really going to run this tired thread again?...I guess so, and this time I'm jumping in. Sorry if I say things already said (how could I not at this point) but I couldn't read 50+ posts on a topic that has been covered...and covered....and covered.... Get off Grixby already!!! He is short and that will pose a problem but he should be commended for being a stand up player last year. Bowman was supposed to be the lock down corner last year. Grixby was supposed to be #2 and as a #2 corner he would be just fine. Bowman gets hurt and Grixby steps up (to 5 foot 9 instead of 5'6") and plays hard every game...no matter who he was lined up against. Andru Jones got rushed into duty but he can't be your #1, he doesn't even know where he's supposed to be (at least last year). Grixby was hung out to dry by our safeties more than once (and maybe by the scheme as well). The Huskers got out coached against Oklahoma. No one on our staff expected that WR they had playing QB to throw that much. How many picks did Taylor throw that game? but Grixby is to blame? I bet coaches watch film. I bet they know Grixby is short. I bet they even know that some teams have tall WR's. If Grixby starts it is because he won the job and congrats to him if that is the case!!! Maybe instead of blaming Grixby, blame some of the new comers for not taking the position away from him in practice! Obviously the competition is open. If they deserve the position they will be on the field!!!! Yep, he is small but does anyone remember Barron Miles?

I have a little different question. I grew up in Western Neb and now live in Denver. Losing to CU is completely unexceptable to me. I hear people from the eastern part of the state express the same hatred for KSU. Do you think where you live (or grew up) factors in? West- CU East KSU?

I caught the end of the FSU game on classic. It still hurts to watch. I forgot about all the drama- expired clock and all. When I watch those championship teams there is something there I can't describe. A mean-ness, a confidence, just something we haven't had in a long time. It makes the players look bigger and faster, the jersey's look redder, sounds silly but does anyone know what I'm talking about. That was Nebraska football dammit!!

I read a report on ESPN today that said there is division in the locker-room. It seems that chuckd has been lashing out at forrealbigredfan and other team mates over posting issues like positivity, Callihan criticism, Keller's popularity and the special teams of the posting board; grammar. Although there is still time before the beginning of the season, if this rift isn't fixed the Huskes might be in trouble this year.
