I watched most of Iowa @ Wisc. Gives me reason to believe we can be in both of those games. Good defense and bad offense by both. Looks familiar. Also, Illinois beating Maryland is a surprise that makes our win look better.

I’m rewatching the game. Some things. 1. Prochazcha is keeping Corcoran on the field. 2. It was weird to watch another team get Nebraska’d. Bad decisions, bad bounces, weird calls. We certainly did our own stupid stuff but some of the hard luck stuff Illinois experienced is what we’ve been living in for years. 3 HH made some good passes on the first drive…and then returned to form. 4. Did Lenhart play? I thought he was gonna play but I didn’t see him. 5. D is gonna be pretty great as the young guys come into form. Seems like every week a different youngster pops. Prince was a beast. 6. Gotta make a change at kicker pretty soon, don’t we? 7. Without stupid penalties and fumbles we blow this game wide open. 8. Is there something in the water that makes our players dumb? Scott is new and his penalty was so dumb, and so typical for our teams of late. 9. I’m not the Tommy Hill fan this coaching staff is. 10. Love seeing Coleman get a catch. He also had a nice block on the Kemp play inside the 10. 11. HH running out of bounds to set up 3rd and 1 is so mini-Joe Daily ridiculous. I think that’s all.

I'm with you on this. The PTSD in this fan base had people in the game thread going CRAAAZZZYYY right before half time. Torches and pitchforks and nonsense. Scoring to close out a half, and then getting the ball back after half to score again is winning football. It's not his fault HH went colorblind and started slinging the ball like Uncle Rico by his van. I LOVED Rhule coming out and getting on HH after one of those throws. I'm not blown away by Satt but people calling for his head, what exactly would you call? He's trying to run an offense w a high school QB and an Oline that sometimes looks like the keystone cops. His WR's are hurt. His RB's are hurt and fumble. He's probably got 25 plays he can call and 3 of them are false starts and 2 are interceptions.

One place I will absolutely agree is just the terrible officiating. When you are a bad team, playing another bad team, you get the bad officiating crews. I'm not one of those people that thinks they are out to get us...they are just bad. BUT there was crazy holding going on from both of their tackles. On the only Illinois TD the LT put on a master class on how to get called for holding....and got away with it. And then when they did call him for holding it really wasn't.

I learned that when we win people here will say ‘that’s the worst team we’ll play all year.’ Do you think other team’s boards say that about us when they beat us? We beat a B10 team on the road by two scores. A team that we haven’t beat in a while. We even did most of the stupid stuff we always do and won. It’s a good win. Take it.

This x 1000000. Local kid, running the option (kind of). Triggers some glory days response. I did think in the first half he was making reads in the passing game, and had made some gains w accuracy…until the 2 minute drive. Second half he was back to….normal. HH is Tim Tebow on the 2011 Broncos…but without the divine intervention.
