Did anyone watch the spring game last year and think, "4-8!" ?

@Dilly Dilly Ok, I'm busted and so is @Branno at 7-5 but like I said I really felt it would be worse. I was ready to move on from Riley early in the season when it was obvious to me that we weren't where we should be as a program. Fire Riley talk was discouraged but whenever the fledgling Frost train came up (usually after a loss) I tried to push it along. As UCF's season took off and ours tanked, the Frost train became unstoppable. By season's end I can only think of 1 poster that thought we shouldn't fire Riley. My only concern with Frost was that our defense would become soft(er) practicing against his offense. The coaches stress being physical so I'm no longer concerned. I'm pessimistic about next season since I don't believe 1 off season will undo what wasn't done the past 3 or more years as far as development particularly in the weight room. Changing offense, defense is minor compared to attitudes, habits and mentality. 7-5 this season would be amazing and regardless of how good we look in the spring game, I won't be more optimistic.

I wasn't here to bust you - i just couldn't believe anyone saw a 6 or fewer win team. I saw that happening before Callahan's last year (when everyone had such high hopes and thought the sky was the limit). In both coaches' last seasons, they were worse than I could have even imagined it would be. Hope that changes this year, but i'm willing to be patient. Takes while to build that thing back up.

@4skers89 my exact post was “I see 5 losses, 5 wins, and 2 toss ups. I really hope I'm wrong, but I see us as 7-5 max but possibly 5-7.”
Please tell me how that means my claim that I saw the team going 5-7 after the spring game is busted.

Kraft vs Velveeta Mac & Cheese?

Kraft mac & cheese was a staple in our household when I was growing up. Velvetta had a weird texture to me for whatever reason. I bought some about a year ago and it just wasn't the same as how I remembered it. I was surprisingly bummed I didn't enjoy it more since I had such fond memories of it growing up. The other problem is my SO makes absolutely dynamite homemade mac and cheese so my taste buds have been elevated slightly haha.
-
@Xmas32, my entire palate has changed since my wife began learning to make meals from scratch. I can't eat hardly any of the prepared/processed foods I ate growing up.

When prepping a house for later sale, would one touch up paint that already exists, or repaint everything white and let new home owner pick what to change to?

@huKSer We aren't the only regulars! Now your'e on a Where's Waldo hunt.

Hypothetical - what if JD makes that catch?

@JJ Husker I counted three drops that could have been game changers in the third quarter. I think had we done ANYTHING to disrupt the momentum in the third and everything changes. Love the team, love the hustle, love that they're playing their hearts out right now. I think we just had some bad luck with both RBs being beat up and some drops.
-
@ScottyIce Hey, no qualifying your hypothetical.

Richt to Retire? Did not see that coming.

Is this the year we have our first 1000 yard receiver?
- Show previous comments 9 more

Interesting question, @huKSer - i went in search of, and found an article that said us and VaTech were the only P5 to never have had a 1000 yard receiver, but the article was three years old and i am too lazy to see if they had one happen since 2015.
-
@Dilly Dilly I just looked VT had a 1000 yard receiver in ‘15 and ‘16.

Glasses with the arm broken off or glasses with super scratchy lenses? (Legitimate question - those are my choices until the new ones get here)

You know you really hate your job when you can't even bear to update resume with said job.

Yeah, my typical day is about 7-5:30. The only times I have left before 4:30 has been for the kids sports events or I like to schedule doctor/dentist appts for about 4:00. But if it's a particularly rough morning I may snooze it for an extra hour. I probably wouldn't make it at a job if I had to be there right on time. Gotten spoiled setting my own hours.
-
@teachercd - my first plan of attack is actually applying (in a round about way) to the place i was before i took this 7th circle of hell position, so they MIGHT pick up on the fact that I wasn't there for the past 2.5 years. (Or they might not??).
Whatever it is will be temporary only till we move back to the Midwest in late summer/early fall. Just need it to pay the bills until then.
-
Fun fact - UCF and Nebraska have the same record the past 3 years. 19-19.

Same, @Moiraine. I pop over sometimes if I'm super bored. They're going to score more points than they did, play faster than they did, have better coaches than they did -- considering Heuple comes from a deeper coaching tree and whatnot, and bonus -- they have clown cars full of talent. They reminded me of Kansas Fan after their orange bowl season.

Juco Nat'l Championship game on now, on CBS Sports, featuring our RB recruit, Dedrick Mills

Anyone watch any other B10 teams' spring games? Just tuned into MSU's - rather boring, as one would expect.

How experimental are we talking about? Putting pot in Runzas experimental? Dropping LSD and doing the Tunnel Walk experimental? Having your MILF wife hook up with a co-ed on campus while you record it on your phone experimental?
All of these are acceptable answers for collegiate experimentation--I just didn't know how far you wanted the ADs to experiment during Spring games.

Does anyone else's dog whine pathetically whenever they see another animal on tv?

Wowzers, Minny just got 5 commits in one day.

Used CBD oil to calm the dog down during a T-storm. What a difference! Wish I knew about it sooner.

Not sure if I've shared this before or not, but I've purchased the Sunday Scaries brand of CBD gummies for humans. They also make Fomo Bones, CBD dog treats: https://www.fomobones.com/
Probably going to try some version of CBD on our dog next time he goes to the vet. Last time we had to give him 3 oral sedatives before we went and he still wouldn't let them touch him. Had to trick him into getting a shot to put him under so they could draw blood and give him his other shots. Yeesh

Call me crazy, but after returning to work after jury duty, i was really wishing i had been chosen to be on the murder trial.

My first jury included one of my Sped students as a fellow juror. Seriously, he was 19 years old senior at the high school I was teaching at. He was on my roster. I did his annual IEP for goodness sake. The court would not excuse him. The kicker was after my taking meticulous notes for five days about the case-a man suing geico because he felt they didn't pay out enough, I was informed at the time of jury instructions that I was the alternative juror and was released without ever casting my opinion or even finding out the outcome. And no free lunch either.
-
I didn't mind jury duty the one time I was chosen for an assault case. Took all day but it was interesting. A murder case would be pretty cool imo. But generally jury duty equates to wasting half your day sitting and waiting and not accomplishing anything other than wasting your time. Boring as H-E-L-L is absolutely what it is 98% of the time.

How sad is it that last year's Purdue game is a "Classic" on BTN?

What kind of projecting power would it take to do something like this video (Phila Flyers), on to a football field?
- Show previous comments 4 more

I believe these are laser projectors and the cheapest is about 25k. Betting something for a football field is probably in the 500k to 1 mil and would probably need about 10 of them. I have a buddy who does it for the Golden Knights and they spent in the 15 mil range. The software and hardware to run it in sync costs a pretty penny in itself.

That's super cool, @HuskerInLostWages.
