However, if I ever did bet a game, and Nebraska was involved, cacti's friend's strategy is exactly what I'd use. And, trust me when I say that I would be more than happy to lose money being wrong. I'd never cheer against the Huskers just to make a buck, and would be much happier with a win than extra money.

The last few years our backups have gotten squat, and it's got us into a little mess with lack of experience now. About the only thing that I admire about Pinkel was the way he played Booger early and often for Smith, prepping him to take over when Smith graduated. Agreed. But then he Pinkel'd it up - how much PT did Gabbert get last year? Hint: His participation and stats aren't leaps and bounds better than Lee's.

Here's a challenge: Do a Google search for dismissed from the team for rules violation. I know you may find it shocking to not only see other teams pop up from the search, but I couldn't find a single one of them that gave any reason. Of course I didn't look at every link, but you get my point.

I honestly feel the chances of the Big 12 North are equally the same as they were before. Does anyone recall the situation around DeAngelo Evans? I had serious concerns then, too. I was extremely worried about that loss and especially how the team would handle the distraction of the situation. And yet, somehow that worked out pretty well. I'm not trying to compare the two situations since they are completely different times and circumstances. However, the point is we've lost a major starter and it seemed to actually strengthen the team's resolve. Will that happen with the 2009 Huskers? One can only hope!

Well, I think this season will go as our O-Line goes. If the line gels well enough and are as good as I hope they are, then the guys in the backfield, whoever they may be, don't even need to be world beating guys with the "IT" factor. They just need to be capable enough. I obviously hope for more than "capable enough", but the o-line will be asked to do a lot for the team this year.

For the sake of argument, let's just pretend the initial post was correct, mentioning the number 5. How many chances do you give someone who has repeated the same offense five times? I have no idea if that's true, but if so, I'm glad some rules are enforced. No player is above the team.
