  1. I don't wish him any ill will and do hope he does well in his future with Frankie at Ohio, but I still think what he did to ISU was rather immature and bush league.
  2. To: Beau Davis, Joe Ganz, T.J. O’Leary, Todd Peterson, Clayton Sievers, Ty Steinkuhler, Nate Swift, Dan Titchener and Jake Wesch. Congratulations on your degrees, fellas, and good luck in all your future endeavors in life. I, for one, am proud of you all! Now, go smack some tiger butt on your way out!
  3. Welcome to the board, Mez! I have been very impressed with the Clemson fans' friendly banter here the past couple of weeks. I like Dabo - like him a lot. I wish you all great success with him at the helm, with the exception of your next game. Thanks for the links. Crowd noise is wow! I'll see your press conference and give you one in return. Ours is clearly better because it features one Dr. Tom Osborne posing as a stand up comedian, introducing Bo Pelini as the next Nebraska head coach. There isn't the emotion that Dabo showed, but I will tell you this - it was emotional for me as I actually got tears in my eyes. http://www.huskers.com/newMediaPlayer/cons...P_FILE_ID=88241
  4. Since the topic of MU/KU came up -- an autistic 16 year old with OCD (and a 69% prediction rate) says: Northwestern over Missouri Minnesota over Kansas rest of the big 12 winning their bowl games I don't buy those two losing, but it'll be interesting to see if he's at all accurate with the entire body of his picks. The whole article requires a premium account with ESPN (can't believe we forgot to cancel it again this year!) http://insider.espn.go.com/fantasy/mag/story?id=3778409
  5. Cy won't watch - prolly doesn't have the NFL network. Seriously, though - NFL Network for a bowl game? WTH! Jayhawk fans - is there any speculation about being picked up/offered on a local station in your area for those who don't have the NFL Network?
  6. Speaking of Trev - at some point before or early during the season, Trev's counter part on some football show said there was no way Nebraska got into a bowl this year. At least I think it was that show. Wonder if Trev is having fun with that one.
  7. It's not that I don't care at all, but do wish they'd wait till after the bowl games to decide and/or award the hypesman - or any other award for that matter. The fact is that football is a team sport, and one player being singled out takes the focus of that player off bowl preparations, thus potentially hurting his team.
  8. seriously? No, of course not seriously. That is why I put the "fishing hook" reference in there. But, I'll accept your retaliatory scoreboard reference since you did earn that one quite handily. Remind me next time I see you to buy you a drink.
  9. you meant booger eating league right? Is this the uniform for the league?
  10. can some1 ganzlate into Engrish ples?
  11. Did anyone else hear the announcers say that Drew Wiley is a better pro prospect than Booger? Oh, and one more thing, Buffalo has a conference championship trophy in football and will now have to get themselves a trophy case to house it. MU doesn't need one of those trophy cases. Maybe this weekend, but the odds are stacked against them. Ergo, UB > MU. That is all. (Insert fishing hook here).
  12. Now that is high-larious. Where can I donate money to keep that plane in continuous operation?
  13. I'm just immature enough to make fun of the museum listed on that page.
  14. Ok, it's not snow, it's coke. Dumb duh dumb dumb. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3744701
  15. 1994 against FSU. I was never so proud of the guys and the effort they put forth even though the scoreboard showed a loss. I had gotten kind of used to losing big in bowls. But, of course against Florida the scoreboard was a tad more favorable, and definitely more fun to watch as a Husker fan.
  16. You've illustrated why I normally don't play the what-if game. But, since I've already broken my own rule with this thread, I'll add to your post: Missouri is also 4 points from being 8-4. (In other words, what if Baylor's QB hadn't thrown his first interception of the season?)
  17. The shortened link didn't work for me, so I took the time to listen to the whole segment. Super well played. I really wish I had a job that was talking about the Huskers and making fun of people - I'd be great at it as I do it now for free.
  18. I hear ya, and understand the argument. The whole BCS system is a joke, so no, I don't think anything here is flawless - it's anything but. The point is, these are the rules now, and because of the rules, Texas feels slighted. Last year they wanted to lobby for more than 2 teams in the BCS bowl games. It's always "not fair to Texas in some way". Even if playoffs were somehow instituted, someone would still be on the outside looking in. Someone will always feel slighted. Again, these are the current rules and the Big 12 member schools had to basically agree to them, and therefore abide by them. Side note, unsolicited opinion - I believe that if the two teams replayed at this stage of the season, Oklahoma would win handily, and feel they would represent the Big 12 better in the title game. That is, provided they win the conference championship game. Texas has improved drastically from last year, but still under performing, IMO. Even if this thing doesn't look right on paper to some, it still feels like the best outcome.
  19. I agree with the game assessment, but disagree about this being sour grapes material. LSUFreek is pretty renouned in college football circles for his farks. He. does it for mostly SEC teams, but probably does it for (or against) Nebraska since Bo is here now. Correction to original post: add that he seems to do it for a lot of football teams, both NFL and college teams. Here are more from last weekend's action: http://www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com/20...kend-in-review/ and another related one to the Huskers: http://www.fannation.com/si_blogs/the_sweep/posts/13162
  20. I don't usually play the what if game because my motto in football has always been: shoulda coulda woulda didn't. but here goes anyway. 1 - What if Ganz doesn't throw an interception in the Texas Tech game? 2 - What if Crabtree was tackled instead of scoring in the waning seconds when TT played Texas? The whole CCG landscape changed with those two plays, and REALLY it changed on just the first one alone. I know I can't just assume Nebraska would have won because Tech hadn't stopped the offense the whole day, but without that interception, chances of a "W" were really very good. And, I can't assume Texas would have won if Crabtree didn't break a tackle for a score. Had #1 not happened, and Nebraska won by 1 point, we'd be buying tickets to face Texas in the CCG. Even without that play, #2 would have put Texas in there. Texas and Nebraska shoulda coulda woulda didn't take care of business, and shoulda coulda woulda didn't get to the CCG. My point of the exercise? I don't want to hear Texas complaining. They signed up for this system, and every year they complain when they feel they are slighted by it. They needed to take care of business against Tech and didn't.
  21. Sounds like Spurrier is just a whiner. I have no idea about the rules, but if Kiffin's on the Tennessee payroll and passed his test, then there should be no infraction. TO did something similar last year - let's consult him on this to see what the rule is.
  22. I have no idea whether or not this is appropriate for this forum, but here's the latest from LSUFreek in case it hasn't been posted yet.
  23. ESPN should be seen and not heard. Great for watching games, but zero credibility after that. Zero. Squat. None. Bupkiss. I think my favorite thing of all time was watching them all squirm and back pedal after they reported that Les Miles was going to take the Michigan job. And, I personally believe he was going to until they backed him into a corner by reporting it too early.
  24. 1999 is my choice because of the wider range of impact that game had. If the Bluffs had made the field goal, KState would have gone to the Big 12 Championship game. So, blowing that field goal not only ripped their hearts out, but the KStaters that had to be thinking they were as good as IN, and then WHAM. Bahahahahah.
