We are. That’s why I think that there is an actual shortage of workers. Not we need cheap labor to keep prices down in certain sectors. You made a statement about people talking out both sides of their mouths. In this instance, it doesn’t really apply.

Hmmmm…to be honest, I think you are leaning too much into the bulls#!t stories of scared white dudes stories about the Mexicans stealing our jobs. Managers at the meat processing facilities are not walking around with envelopes of cash and handing them out and then not explaining to the IRS how they did $25 million in revenue with a only a dozen people on the payroll working in the front office. The roofing owner isn’t doing 500 houses a year with just him and his wife. The real world in the USA isn’t always a twisted scary place.

And I don't think anyone asking for better minimum wage is also advocating for employers of these workers to break the law and pay less.

Then those companies are breaking federal law. Minimum wage laws also applies to undocumented workers. But they also know they can't ask for more because there is nowhere else to go for a job.

There physically are not enough capable workers for those jobs. Undocumented workers still make minimum wage, unless they are getting paid in cash which would be pretty difficult for big business to conduct that way.

I hope all of "Birdbrains" supporters heard this and understand that Trump is asking them to vote for Biden. But I doubt it...

The best thing NE Dems could do, is vote in Rep primaries. Most rural folks are going to coalesce around the "R" in a general election, might as well dope them into voting for a more liberal candidate that isn't a dips#!t. It would also bring actual Republicans back to rationality.

I voted for Lindstrom in the primary but Blood in GE. I would by far prefer Dem policies, but I know its not gonna happen here. Might as well do my part to make sure the Rep candidate isn't a total clown. Yes, rural Nebraska republicans are very MAGA. I don't even go out when I go back to my parents because it's like people there make a point to talk about how bad Omaha is and how shouldn't live close to that "hell hole".

I'm a registered Republican in Nebraska so I can vote for reasonable candidates that will hopefully beat MAGA run against dems in the GE. Even though it didn't mean a thing, it has been fun to vote against Trump going on 5 times now...
